But that wont stop the Democrat's, Conyers has already drawn up motions for Impeachment Proceedings Papers and Resolutions one being HR 635. The Democrats Have A New Direction For America

And Here Is Just A Sample

Democrats’ “New Direction for America” has quite a wish list. Here’s just a sampling of the bills put forward by would-be majority Democrats since 2005.

*Charles Rangel (D-NY) proposed the “Crack-Cocaine Equitable Sentencing Act” (HR 2456) to eliminate mandatory sentencing for crack-cocaine convictions.

*California Barbara Lee (D-CA) put forward the “Justice for the Unprotected against Sexually Transmitted Infections among the Confined and Exposed (JUSTICE) Act” (HR 6083) to permit the distribution of prophylactics in prisons.

*Another New York Congressman, Jerrold Nadler, proffered the “Antibullying Campaign Act” (HR 3787) to institute a federal-grant program against bullying in schools.

*In a bit of bullying of her own, the recently retired Cynthia “Slugger” McKinney (D-GA) drew up the “Tupac Shakur Records Release Act of 2006” (HR 4968) to create a special collection of the gangsta rapper’s government records at the National Archives.

On the subject of entitlements, Democrats don’t hold back.
*Robert Wexler (D-FL) offered the “Social Security Forever Act” (HR 2472) to create a new tax on workers, employers and the self-employed to keep Social Security afloat.

*John Dingell (D-MI) offered up a pair of bills, the “National Health Insurance Act” (HR 15) and the “Medicare for All Act” (HR 4683), each raising taxes to promote socialized health care. Dingell’s efforts weren’t enough for Massachusetts Rep.

*Barney Frank, however, who proposed the bill “To provide for coverage under the Medicare and Medicaid Programs of incontinence undergarments” (HR 1052) for taxpayer-funded adult diapers.

Then there’s Iraq.
*Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), offered the “Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act” (HR 3760) to establish a U.S. Department of Peace and Nonviolence to... well, act peacefully and non-violently, we suppose.

*Jim McGovern (D-MA) didn’t beat around the bush with his “End the War in Iraq Act” (HR 4232), which sought to defund the war in Iraq immediately and force a complete troop withdrawal.

Ever angling to put rich kids in their place, the aforementioned *Charles Rangel wants his “Universal National Service Act” (HR 4752) obligating U.S. citizens between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform two years’ service in the Armed Forces or civilian elements of national defense.

Also in the mix during the past two years were bills to legalize medical marijuana (HR 2087),

grant voting rights to ex-cons (HR 663),

create a right to unrestricted late-term abortion (HR 5151),

and provide gas to the poor at taxpayer expense (HR 3712).

Proposed amendments to the Constitution include one guaranteeing equal public education (HJ Res 29)

and equal health care (HJ Res 30), as well as constitutional rights to housing (HJ Res 40) and full employment (HJ Res 35).

Actually this isnt a new direction at all. This is the same crap they try and force on us behind our back's every year. But are you willing to pay for all this nonsense? I'M NOT!!!

Boy's Penis in Father's Mouth 'Not a Sexual Act,' Webb Tells Radio Host...

Webb Says His Novels 'Inappropriate' for News Radio

In an interview on Washington Post Radio Friday morning, Jim Webb, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia, said excerpts of his novels are "a little bit inappropriate" to be read on news radio.

Jim Webb Democrat Challenger In VA Senate Race

"I don't know why you're reading that on WTOP," Webb told host Mark Plotkin. "I think it's a little bit inappropriate."

Plotkin was reading an excerpt from Webb's novel "Something to Die For," in which Webb describes a female stripper performing sexual acts with a banana.

"I don't think that's appropriate for you to read on WTOP," Webb said again as Plotkin finished the excerpt.

The campaign of Republican Sen. George Allen on Thursday released excerpts from some of the war novels Webb wrote between 1978 and 2002. The books include some graphic sexual passages, as well as frequent uses of a racial slur for blacks and descriptions of Vietnamese women as "monkey-faced."

Among the excerpts is a scene from the 2002 novel "Lost Soldiers," in which a man embraces his four-year-old son and places the boy's penis in his mouth.

Webb said the release of the excerpts was "a Karl Rove campaign tactic" and a "classic example of the way this campaign has worked. It's smear after smear."

He defended his fiction as "illuminative."

"It's not a sexual act," Webb told Plotkin regarding the "Lost Soldiers" excerpt. "I actually saw this happen in a slum in Bangkok when I was there as a journalist."

"The duty of a writer is to illuminate his surroundings," he added.

Coincidentally, a Cambodian woman in Las Vegas is facing sexual assault charges for performing a similar act on her young son, according to an Oct. 14 report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The article quotes an office manager for the Cambodian Association of America, who described the act as a sign of respect or love.....(What the hell??)

"It's an exception," Thira Srey told the Review-Journal of the practice. According to the report, the act is usually performed by a mother or caretaker on a child who is one year old or younger....(UH I DONT THINK SO!) In Webb's novel, the child is four years old.

Webb criticized the Allen campaign for focusing on excerpts from his novels.

"The most important issue facing the country, he hasn't got a statement to make on it," Webb said of the Iraq war. "This country's been breaking into pieces economically ... they've got no position on that.
Passage From "Lost Soldiers" By Jim Webb

Lost Soldiers 333

Shirtless Man walked toward them along a mud pathway. His muscles were young and hard, but his face was devistated with wrinkles. His eyes were so red that they appeared to be burned by fire. A naked boy ran happily toward him from the little plot of dirt. The man grabbed his young son in his arms, turned him upside down, and put the boy's penis in his mouth.

Dems Use Cadaver In Campain Ad

Wieland denounces 'cadaver' ad

WATERLOO --- Republican Iowa House District 20 candidate David Wieland and Iowa House Speaker Christopher Rants of Sioux City have denounced a political advertisement released this weekend against Wieland showing what appears to be a covered cadaver on a gurney, assailing his position on stem-cell research.

Wieland said he supports adult, but not embryonic, stem-cell research, but said the ad implies "If you vote for Dave Wieland, you're going to kill people."

He and Rants called the ad a new low in the already vitriolic campaign between Wieland and Democrat Doris Kelley for the District 20 seat being vacated by the retiring Waterloo Republican Willard Jenkins.

"She (Kelley) has thrown out all bounds of decency," Wieland said today. "I have never done an attack like this on my opponent," except to refer to Kelley as a "lobbyist."

"I have never, ever seen anything that even comes close to that," Rants said "Candidates always trade barbs over their record. But I've never seen a campaign swing into saying, 'If you vote for this guy, people are going to die.' That's clearly the inference they are trying to make."

The ad, which has an Iowa Democratic Party return address, shows a young woman on oxygen apparently laying in bed. The next page shows what appears to be a covered body laying on a hospital gurney.

"We could cure her disease. But Dave Wieland opposes life saving stem-cell research," the ad states.

The ad cites as the basis of its information a candidate questionnaire from the Iowa Christian Alliance. On that survey, Wieland simply checked a box stating he supported a ban on embryonic stem cell research and human cloning.

Tom Powers, Kelley's campaign co-manager, said he approved of the ad without consulting Kelley. "It sends a message on stem cell research," he said. "When you're running for a public office and you're setting policy for a state, the voters need to seek the difference" between the candidates.

"I'll take responsibility for anything that goes out," Kelley said. "The message I stand by. The photos is where I have a problem. I told the (Iowa Democratic) Party that I did not like this type of campaigning. I do not approve of this type of campaigning, and I will do everything I can if elected to make some changes in the campaign process."

Kelley said she is ceasing this type of campaigning and asked Wieland to do the same. "I'm surprised he (Wieland) is complaining now when he has mailed out so many fliers with false information and even put that kind of information into his radio and TV ads," she said.

Kelley was upset with advertising put out by the Republican State Leadership Committee of Washington, D.C., against her campaign questioning her actions and motivation in campaigning for a 1994 referendum for Cedar Falls Utilities to add a municipal communications utility, then serving as CFU's marketing coordinator for several years. Wieland disassociated himself from those ads and said they were not helpful to his campaign.

Kelley felt he did not denounce them enough. Rants said today he called the RSLC complaining about the ads, but the ads continued. Kelley responded with other ads of her own.

"It seems like it's just this constant back and forth and it's getting a little ridiculous," Kelley said. "I have stopped it. I ask that he do the same. His campaign tactics have been very disgusting."

CNN The English Version Of Al-Jazeera?

Calif. Republican Asks Pentagon to Remove Embedded CNN Reporters

SAN DIEGO, - The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee asked the Pentagon on Friday to remove CNN reporters embedded with U.S. combat troops, saying the network's broadcast of a video showing insurgent snipers targeting U.S. soldiers was tantamount to airing an enemy propaganda film.

The tape, which came to the network through contact with an insurgent leader, was aired Wednesday night on "Anderson Cooper 360" and repeated Thursday.
In a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., wrote: "CNN has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier."

The letter was also signed by San Diego-area Republican congressmen Darrell Issa and Brian Bilbray.

"This is nothing short of a terrorist snuff film," Bilbray said at a press conference held in San Diego.

CNN producer David Doss wrote in a Web log Thursday the network televised the footage in an effort to present the "unvarnished truth" about the Iraq war.

In one instance, the tape shows a uniformed member of the U.S. military milling in a public area with Iraqis. A shot rings out. CNN fades the screen to black before the result - described as a victim falling forward - is visible.

Hunter said he hasn't received a response from Rumsfeld.

A Pentagon spokesman said Friday he didn't know whether Rumsfeld had seen the letter.

"The department takes this very seriously and will look into the matter and respond accordingly to the member in due course," said Lt. Cmdr. Chito Peppler.

CNN officials defended their decision to air the footage.

"Our responsibility is to report the news," said Laurie Goldberg, a CNN spokeswoman. "As an organization we stand by our decision and respect the rights of others to disagree with it."

CNN Defends Airing Of Tape
CNN CAN GO TO HELL. We have assumed for sometime now that CNN was the equivilent of the Communist News Network, now they have PROVEN it. Not only is CNN Aiding and Abetting the enemy, they have now put our Soldiers at Grave risk by airing "The Enemy Video Snuff Film". There was NO News Value to this, as a matter of fact this was "Yellow Journalism". CNN has proven they WANT America to LOSE the war, give Coverage to the TERRORIST'S, and DESTROY our Troops Morale. HOW DARE CNN AIR THIS CRUD!!! I wouldnt doubt that CNN is partly to blame for alot of US deaths in Iraq in the month of October with thier Terrorist Supporting Journalism. I'm with Duncan Hunter on this PULL THE CNN EMBEDDED REPORTERS if they are going to give Aid and Comfort to the Enemy! As our Enemy has already stated "They CANT Defeat us Militarily, all we can do is break the will of the American people"!!

House Intel Chair Suspends Staff Member For Leaks/Dems Appalled

House Intel Chair Suspends Staff Member

Democrats say the Republican head of the House Intelligence Committee had no grounds to suspend a staff member who's come under scrutiny for the leak of a secret intelligence assessment.
The unidentified staff member, a Democrat, was suspended this week by Chairman Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., and is being denied access to classified information pending the outcome of a review, Hoekstra's spokesman, Jamal Ware, said Thursday.

The Intelligence Committee's top Democrat, Jane Harman of California, wrote to Hoekstra that she was "appalled" by his action, which was "without basis."

The leak to The New York Times of a National Intelligence Estimate on global terror trends caused a political uproar last month. In the assessment, completed in April, analysts from the government's 16 spy agencies concluded that the Iraq war has become a "cause celebre" for Islamic extremists, breeding deep resentment of the U.S. that probably will get worse before it gets better.

President Bush, who suggested the document was leaked for "political purposes" weeks before the midterm elections, later made public four pages of the estimate's key findings.

In a letter to Hoekstra dated Sept. 29, Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Ill., a committee member, said the Democratic staffer requested the document from National Intelligence Director John Negroponte three days before a Sept. 23 story by the Times on its conclusions.

"I have no credible information to say any classified information was leaked from the committee's minority staff, but the implications of such would be dramatic," LaHood said in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. "This may, in fact, be only coincidence, and simply 'look bad.' But coincidence, in this town, is rare."

In her letter, Harman demanded that Hoekstra "immediately reinstate the staffer's access to classified information."

A conference call to the committee's nine Democrats on Wednesday to inform them of the aide's suspension prompted outrage, said two congressional officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about internal committee business.

The officials said that the National Intelligence Estimate was marked "secret," rather than "top secret" or another more restrictive classification. As a result, thousands of people across government would have had access to it, including the intelligence, armed services and international relations committees of the House.

The officials said the staff member acted appropriately in requesting the document on behalf of a committee member.

Relations between Democrats and Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have soured in recent weeks.

On Tuesday, Harman unilaterally released the executive summary of an independent investigator's review into the actions of a jailed former congressman, Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif. The report found that he abused his position on the committee to help ensure lucrative contracts went to associates, in exchange for bribes.

Hoekstra called Harman's decision to release the document "disturbing and beyond the pale."

House Intel Chair Suspends Staff Member

Dems Appalled
Let me get this right, it's ok for the Dems to release "Secret" documents just before an election, but when a Republican finds someone who is proabably the leaker of this information (And Lord only knows what else) to the NYT and other papers and suspends him until further investigation the Democrats throw a fit? I guess if I needed that leaker I would be pretty upset to. More liberal Hypocricy!

North Korea: "Sorry"

Report: N. Korea 'Sorry' for Nuke Test

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il said Pyongyang didn't plan to carry out any more nuclear tests and expressed regret about the country's first-ever atomic detonation last week, a South Korean news agency reported Friday.
North Korea, however, kept up its bellicose rhetoric as more than 100,000 people gathered Friday in Pyongyang's central Kim Il Sung square to "hail the success of the historic nuclear test," according to the North's official media.

Kim told Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan that "we have no plans for additional nuclear tests," Yonhap news agency reported, citing an unnamed diplomatic source in Beijing.

Kim also told the Chinese that "he is sorry about the nuclear test," the mass-circulation Chosun Ilbo daily reported, citing a diplomatic source in China. The North Korean leader also raised the possibility the country would return to arms talks.

"If the U.S. makes a concession to some degree, we will also make a concession to some degree, whether it be bilateral talks or six-party talks," Kim was quoted as telling a Chinese envoy, the newspaper reported.

The delegation led by Tang met Kim on Thursday and returned to Beijing later that day.

China is viewed as a key nation in efforts to persuade the North to disarm, as it is the isolated communist nation's main trading partner and provides almost all of its oil, and it is weighing tough options. Government experts have called for the reduction of critical supplies of oil and food.

A North Korean official, meanwhile, defended last week's nuclear test and said Pyongyang would "crush U.S. imperialists' schemes with its self-defensive power."

"No matter how the U.S. imperialists try to stifle and isolate our republic ... victory will be on the side of justice," said Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, according to the North's official Korean Central News Agency's Korean-language report.

Choe made the comments at a rally in the North Korean capital in which tens of thousands of citizens and soldiers cheered the nuclear test, according to KCNA _ the first known celebration directly tied to the explosion.

Meeting with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Beijing on Friday, Tang said that his trip had "not been in vain." Chinese officials also expressed hope that the North would return to arms talks that it has boycotted since last year in anger over U.S. financial restrictions.

The options Beijing is considering mark a break from even the recent past in which China has preferred to use incentives rather than threats with Pyongyang. But the Oct. 9 nuclear test further frayed already damaged ties and strengthened the hand of critics who believe Beijing should take a harder line against a North Korea they say has ignored Chinese interests.

Even before the nuclear tests, with its patience wearing thin, China reduced food aid to the chronically food-short North by two-thirds this year, according to the U.N. World Food Program. After voting last week for U.N. sanctions that ban trade in military and luxury goods, China stepped up inspections of the trucks crossing into North Korea.

On Friday, all four major Chinese state-owned banks and British-owned HSBC Corp. said they have stopped financial transfers to the North _ a step beyond what the U.N. sanctions require and a likely blow to a weak economy that relies on China as a link to the world financial system.

Chinese leaders aren't ready to fully cut off North Korea, an ally from the Korean War and still a useful buffer state in Northeast Asia. In enforcing U.N. sanctions, China has balked at inspecting cargo ships, saying it could lead to armed conflict. And Beijing insists it wants Pyongyang to resume negotiations on disarmament, not an end to Kim Jong Il's regime.

But Beijing's growing exasperation with Pyongyang has made a once unthinkable harder line more likely, experts said.

"North Korea is China's biggest foreign policy failure of the past 50 years," said Zhang Liangui of the Central Party School, a training academy for China's communist leadership. "China ought to cut off oil and food."

North Korea has long insisted that the U.S. desist from a campaign to sever its ties to the international financial system. Washington accuses Pyongyang of complicity in counterfeiting and money laundering to sell weapons of mass destruction.

The North has refused since last November to return to the nuclear talks, which include the U.S., China, Japan, Russia and South Korea. Pyongyang has sought bolster its negotiating position by a series of provocative actions, test-firing a barrage of missiles in July and performing its nuclear test.

Steny Hoyer Calls Michael Steele A "Slave"

Democrat apologizes for 'slavish' remark

WASHINGTON -- A ranking Democrat in the House of Representative is apologizing for saying an African-American Senate candidate "slavishly" supported the Republican Party.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, said he meant no offense when he made the remark about Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, the GOP nominee for the seat being vacated by longtime Democratic Sen. Paul Sarbanes.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Hoyer said, "I should not have used those words."

Hoyer was speaking to a largely black audience at a campaign event for Steele's Democratic opponent, U.S. Rep. Ben Cardin, when he made the comment.

Steele's spokesman, Doug Heye, called Hoyer's comments "insensitive and pretty stupid."

While Hoyer apologized for the comments, he continued to criticize Steele's support of the GOP.

"If Mr. Steele did in fact take offense, let me assure him that none was intended," Hoyer said. "But Mr. Steele continuously tries to divert attention from the fact that he is an unwavering supporter of the Republican agenda and of President Bush and Vice President Cheney."

Hoyer's office also released a statement from Melvin Forbes, a black businessman who sponsored the campaign event, who said "there was absolutely no offense taken or noticed."

Heye disagreed, saying there are "a great deal of people upset about it."

Steele's campaign released statements from leaders of the National Black Church Initiative that condemned Hoyer's comments.

"This is nothing new for Steny Hoyer," said Heye.

He said that in 2002, Hoyer was quoted referring to Steele as a "token" candidate -- although Hoyer said at the time that he was quoted out of context.

MURTHA! Debate This Woman! Or Are You Cutting And Running From Her Too?

(MONONGAHELA, October 17) -- Washington County Commissioner and Pennsylvania 12th district Republican Congressional nominee Diana Irey -- commenting on President Bush's signing today of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 -- today released the following statement:

"Today President Bush signed into law the Military Commissions Act of 2006, one of the most critical pieces of legislation considered by the Congress since the devastating attacks of 9/11. I applaud the Congress for passing it, and the President for signing it into law.

"But I cannot help but wonder -- why in the world did Jack Murtha vote against it?

"This legislation focuses on two keys in the war on Islamo-fascist terrorists: first, it codifies the current CIA interrogation program, and thereby allows us to gather critical intelligence that we can use to prevent new attacks against the American homeland and American interests around the world; and second, it allows for the creation of military tribunals through which we can bring to justice those captured terrorists whom we believe played significant roles in attacks against Americans.

"That the CIA interrogation program needed to continue is beyond doubt: this program has allowed U.S. intelligence agents to gather vital information from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Ramzi Binalshibh, two of the men believed responsible for planning and carrying out the 9/11 attacks. Intelligence gleaned from this program has allowed us to prevent new terrorist attacks in America and abroad -- we rolled up a 17-member southeastern Asian terrorist cell being trained for attacks inside the U.S.; we uncovered key al Qaeda operatives working on biological weapons; we identified and captured terrorists who were casing targets inside the U.S., including key financial center buildings in the Northeast. And intelligence gathered from this program helped us prevent a planned strike on U.S. armed forces in Djibouti, a planned strike on the U.S. consulate in Karachi, and a planned hijacking plot that would have used airplanes again, against Heathrow Airport and Canary Wharf in London.

"Just as important as allowing a program to continue that will help us prevent future attacks, this legislation will also allow us to bring to justice those who have engaged in prior attacks against us. The military tribunals created by this legislation will be used to try people like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Ramzi Binalshibh; an operative believed to have played a role in the twin attacks on U.S. Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in August 1998; and some of those believed responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Cole in October 2000.

"So we are left with the question: Why in the world did Jack Murtha vote against this critical legislation?

"Was it so he could maintain his new-found status as the darling of the Hollywood/San Francisco left? Was it so he could build up chits from the ultraliberal, pro-choice, pro-gun control crowd of Democratic challengers he's now helping - and from whom he expects support in his bid to advance his own career? Was it so he could provide cover for other Democrats who have refused to support giving our intelligence and law enforcement authorities the tools they need to protect us?

"Whatever the reason, it troubles me. Add this vote to his vote against reauthorizing the USA PATRIOT Act, and his repeated votes against securing our borders, and one sees a pattern emerging -- Jack Murtha is just not committed to prosecuting and winning the war on Islamofascist terrorists.

"Our generation can no longer afford to bury our heads in the sand. We must rise to the challenge posed us by these terrorists who want to kill us for no other reason than that we are Americans. If Jack Murtha isn't up to the challenge, then it's time for him to step aside and be replaced by someone who WILL take up the challenge."

Murtha: "Screw Republicans"
Just what is the problem here? Why wont John Murtha debate this woman? C'mon Murtha, you can do it. What have you got to lose? Are you going to cut and run from her? Maybe Murtha needs to be re-deployed to Okinawa!! I mean just because you are against EVERY SINGLE MEASURE OF SECURITY FOR THIS NATION is no reason not to debate the woman!

This Lady has a list going of why Murtha doesnt want to debate her "21 Reasons" Counting backwards here are some:

21.) He has voted himself 12 straight pay raises.
20.) He has voted to raise his own pay from $42,500/yr to $165,500/yr.
19.) He tried to take a $50,000 cash bribe from an undercover agent for the FBI.
18.) His "investment defense" was nothing more than a ruse to hide his $50,000 cash bribe from an undercover agent for the FBI.
17.) He wrongfully accused U.S. Marines of cold-blooded murder.
16.) He voted against allowing military personnel to assist the Department of Homeland Security with border security in times of a threat to national security.
15.) He voted against legislation to fulfill recommendations of the 9/11 Commission to prohibit illegal aliens from obtaining driver's licenses or other official ID cards; to ensure terrorists do not enter or remain in the U.S. through loopholes in asylum or deportation laws; and to strengthen border security by completing the San Diego border fence.
14.) He voted against stiffer sentences for illegal aliens convicted of violent crimes or drug trafficking.
13.) He voted against increasing funds to help state and local governments arrest and detain illegal aliens.
12.) He voted against the Border Control, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005.
11.) He voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006.
10.) He voted against protecting traditional marriage.
9. He voted to allow liberal judges to overturn a law protecting traditional marriage.
8. Contrary to what he says now about his role in Abscam, he didn't just say 'no' to a $50,000 cash bribe.
7. He once hosted a welcome back party for a former congressional staffer who'd just been convicted of taking an illegal bribe.
6. He pushed for a new law to require taxpayers to pay the legal bills of Members of Congress who had been convicted of taking bribes.
5. He voted against giving U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies the power to wiretap suspected terrorists when they call associated in the United States.
4. He voted against giving U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies the power to properly interrogate and bring to trial terrorists who plot against the United States.
3. He said we could safely redeploy American forces from Iraq to Okinawa. Okinawa, Japan. A very, very, very long ways away.
2. He voted to kill the USA PATRIOT act. Twice.
1. He's a central part of the culture of corruption in Congress.

Santorum, Casey debate foreign policy

PHILADELPHIA - Foreign policy w, , ) and Democrat Bob Casey, with the GOP incumbent saying he had a strong grasp of international affairs and his challenger accusing the White House of moving too quickly to take military action.

Casey, leading in polls as he tries to unseat the Senate‘s third-ranking Republican, said the United States is in "worse shape" in regard to Iran and North Korea because of President Bush ‘s policies.

"I think this administration should make sure it listens to the military experts, something the Bush administration has not done very well in regards to Iraq ," said Casey.

"We cannot sit here tonight and draw a line," Casey said.

"If we are to believe that they are close to developing a nuclear weapon, I would do, I would strike, without question... Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. This is not North Korea which I believe would use it more for defensive purposes," Santorum said.

The two also differed on Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. As he has before, Casey said Rumsfeld should be fired. "We need new leadership when it comes to Iraq," Casey said.

Casey, the state treasurer, told Santorum on Tuesday he planned to release his IRS filings for the last five years, and asked Santorum to do the same. Santorum said he would.

Casey has accused Santorum of being part of the problem in Washington and voting with President Bush 98 percent of the time. Santorum has said Casey spends too many days away from his state treasurer‘s office and does not address issues.

Immigration, Social Security and the environment were also discussed Monday night.

Last month, a poll showed Casey held a 14-point lead over the incumbent among 933 likely Pennsylvania voters. The Quinnipiac University Poll had a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

I know I'm going to catch hell for this, and I know quite a few of you guy's on my blog are from Pennsylvania, but I'm scrolling through the channels lastnight and hit C-Span, there's Rick Santorum and Casey debating. I'm sorry but Casey doesnt seem to be playing with a full deck! He had to be corrected several times, and he didnt answer the questions that were given him, well in a round about way, and after being reminded to do so by the panel. And most of the proposals Casey submitted to the Public are already being done by President Bush! Santorum looked very much in charge, and is a whole lot more knowledgeable about every Policy decision and bills he co-authored. I'm not sure you guy's really want Casey do you? He seems dumbfounded quite often. Like he's not quite all there. He seems like a nice enough guy and all, but do you guy's really want HIM making Policy decisions in the Senate? There just isnt enough excitement going on in Oklahoma right now, so I thought I would pop in on other races.

Harry Reid Tied To The Mob?

Sen. Harry Reid Land Deal Said to Include Mob Ties

Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) has been exposed, again, in what are being called “shady dealings”. Judicial Watch reports that this is the latest in Reid’s Senate Rules’ violations.

Earlier this year payments to Reid, ostensibly for Senatorial favors, were made by an Indian tribe. The latest potential Reid ethics' violation centers around a land deal that is said to have been structured and organized by a longtime friend of Reid’s, Jay Brown. Brown is said to have “mob ties”. The deal involved Reid’s 1998 purchase of undeveloped residential property for $400K that Reid sold 3 years later, for the same price, to a corporation owned by Brown. Brown is a former attorney who has been investigated by the Feds.

Reid’s problems are said to have occurred due to his secretly pocketing $1.1 million from the deal on the property that he no longer owned. Judicial Watch reports: “Reid violated Senate rules by failing to disclose the sale in his annual report and lying about his stake in his friend’s newly created company. In 2004, after local officials rezoned the area for a shopping center, the land’s value increased tremendously and was sold to developers allowing Reid to nearly triple his investment.

“Senate ethics rules are clear in stating that members must disclose all investments, for profit or loss, on their annual reports. They must also report all financial stakes in companies, which Reid clearly didn’t do.”

The AP also reported on the story. When being questioned about the land deal, the AP writes: “Reid hung up the phone when questioned about the deal during an AP interview last week.”

Gerry Studds Had To Die Before The Media Acknowledged He Actually HAD SEX With A Teen White House Page?

Gerry Studds had to die for NBC Nightly News to inform viewers of how the former Democratic Congressman had a sexual relationship with 17-year-old male congressional page, misconduct for which the House in 1983 censured him, but did not prompt Democratic House Speaker Tip O'Neill and other leaders to force his resignation -- nor raise calls for O'Neill's resignation. Despite the Democratic hypocrisy given their current calls for Speaker Hastert's resignation and investigations of who knew what and when about Mark Foley, Saturday night -- two weeks into the media-fueled scandal -- was the first time, according to Nexis, any NBC News program mentioned Studds' name. Anchor John Seigenthaler, who called Studds "Gary," relayed how "from Massachusetts comes word of the death of former Democratic Congressman Gary Studds, the first openly gay Member of Congress." Seigenthaler then gave the gentlest of descriptions as he avoided the word "sexual" in his one sentence on the matter: "In 1983 the House of Representatives censured Studds for his relationship with a teenage page."

And this was the Democrat Response over Studds Death!

Reaction to the death of former U.S. Rep. Gerry Studds

Reaction to the death of former Rep. Gerry Studds, D-Mass.:

"Gerry's leadership changed Massachusetts forever and we'll never forget him. His work on behalf of our fishing industry and the protection of our waters has guided the fishing industry into the future and ensured that generations to come will have the opportunity to love and learn from the sea. He was a steward of the oceans."

-U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.

"No one fought harder for human rights, particularly in Latin America; for our environment; and for the fishermen of New England and the entire nation. He was a true pioneer."

- U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., whose wife, Lisa, once worked as an aide to Studds.

"Gerry often said that it was the fight for gay and lesbian equality that was the last great civil rights chapter in modern American history. He did not live to see its final sentences written, but all of us will forever be indebted to him for leading the way with compassion and wisdom. He gave people of his generation, of my generation, and of future generations the courage to be who they are."

- Dean Hara, who married Studds in 2004.

"Gerry was a stalwart champion of New England's fishing families as well as a committed environmentalist who worked hard to demonstrate that the cause of working people and the cause of the environment go hand in hand with the right leadership. When he retired from Congress, he did not retire from the cause, continuing to fight for the fishing industry and New England's environmental causes.

- U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.

"I am very saddened by the death of Gerry Studds. From his days in the early 1970s as an articulate and effective opponent of the Vietnam war, through his consistent leadership on environmental issues, to his insistence that the U.S. government stop ignoring the AIDS crisis, Gerry was a forceful advocate for causes that were not always popular and that were consequently shunned by many politicians."

- U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.

Studds is remembered for his Congressional Page Sex Scandal

Congressional page sex scandal
Studds is remembered chiefly for his role in the Congressional page sex scandal in 1983, when he and Representative Dan Crane were censured by the House of Representatives for separate sexual relationships with a minor – in Studds's case, a 1973 relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page.

During the course of the House Ethics Committee's investigation, Studds publicly acknowledged his homosexuality, a disclosure that, according to a Washington Post article, "apparently was not news to many of his constituents." Studds stated in an address to the House, "It is not a simple task for any of us to meet adequately the obligations of either public or private life, let alone both, but these challenges are made substantially more complex when one is, as I am, both an elected public official and gay."

As the House read their censure of him, Studds turned his back and ignored them. Later, at a press conference with the former page standing beside him, the two stated that what had happened between them was nobody's business but their own.

Not one Senator mentioned the shame the man brought upon Congress by ACTUALLY HAVING SEX WITH A WHITE HOUSE PAGE!!! No heads rolled there, well, nah I wont say it, the man is dead now. And all he got was CENSURED! AND WAS RE-ELECTED!! Oh brother the Hypocrisy of the left is astounding!

Murtha: "Screw Republicans"

Murtha Tells MoveOn Members: 'Screw' Republicans

"Screw them," Rep. John Murtha said of Republicans in an email sent to the liberal political group on Wednesday. The Pennsylvania Democrat, who is urging a U.S. military withdrawal from Iraq, added that he needs its members' help to throw GOP congressmen "out of power -- as many of them as possible."

"A year ago when I presented my plan for Iraq, I did it to provide leadership and protect our troops," Murtha stated in his email. "The Republicans have spent their time name-calling while the situation for our troops in Iraq gets worse. They've tried to smear me, other veterans, Democrats, you and anybody who stands up to them.

"Well, let me say one thing right now: screw them," the 16-term congressman declared. "Those gravestones at Arlington cemetery don't say Democrat or Republican on them. We are all patriots.

"As long as Republicans are in charge," Murtha added in his email, "they're just going to keep playing politics instead of doing what needs to be done for the American people.

"And that's why we need to throw them out of power -- as many of them as possible," he stated.

"I've never been one to go out front and lead the charge in the elections -- but I learned that these Republicans in charge right now couldn't care less about getting out of Iraq," Murtha alleged. "Only a switch of power will change things.

"I'm working hard to turn the mess in Iraq around -- but I need more good people in Congress with me," Murtha stated. He referred to "outstanding" candidates that he would like to see elected, such as fellow Pennsylvania Democrats Lois Murphy in the 6th District and Chris Carney in the 10th District, as well as Zack Space, a candidate in Ohio's 18th District race.

"The three candidates who need your support today will fight side-by-side with me in Congress when the time comes to hold George W. Bush's feet to the fire," Murtha stated. "Can I count on you to chip in $25 or more?" he asked.

As Cybercast News Service previously reported, announced in mid-August that it was coming to the defense of Murtha and other Democrats who oppose the war in Iraq.

At that time, MoveOn's Political Action Team accused "Republican operatives" of attacking Murtha and stated in an email there was "no damn way we're going to let them get away with it." The group pledged to "go on offense" against the GOP in the mid-term elections with "a hard-hitting new TV ad about Iraq."

But on Thursday, Bill Pascoe, a spokesman for Murtha's opponent, Republican Diana Irey told Cybercast News Service that "Jack Murtha's recent fundraising solicitation on behalf of the radical leftwing group shows voters of Pennsylvania's 12th District again just how far out of touch with their mainstream conservative values he's willing to go to curry favor from his new liberal buddies."

"Just as important, his two-word screed about those who would dare disagree with him politically -- 'screw them' -- is evidence of his hatred for political dissent and his rejection of the notion of honest and fair debate," Pascoe added.

"This email just goes to prove what Diana Irey has been saying for months -- if you thought the Jack Murtha of 2006 was the same guy you'd been voting for, for years you don't know Jack -- and you can find out more by visiting and seeing for yourself."

Also on Thursday, Larry Bailey, president of Vets for the Truth (VFTT) -- an organization working to "boot Murtha" from Congress on Nov. 7 -- agreed that the congressman's attitude in his email is something voters should consider.

Bailey told Cybercast News Service: "'Screw them' is what John Murtha has said for 32 years to:

"Iraq War veterans, who have tried unsuccessfully to discuss that conflict with Murtha;

"Honest citizens, who are berated, cursed and threatened by Murtha goons;

"Taxpayers, who have to come up with the money for Murtha's self-serving appropriations 'earmarks;'

"Troops in Iraq, who are unjustly characterized by Murtha for having 'killed innocent civilians in cold blood;'

"Honest politicians, who object to the 'bully-boy' tactics employed by Murtha in getting his way; and

"Anyone who dares to disagree with or vote against John Murtha.
"'Screw them' might well be the epitaph inscribed on Murtha's tombstone," Bailey stated.

"'Screw you, Murtha!' might well be the verdict rendered by the voters of the 12th District of Pennsylvania on Nov. 7," he added. "That will be what those voters will be saying to as well."

WASHINGTON -- Rep. John Murtha, a decorated Marine veteran who favors withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, wrote an essay for Sunday's Washington Post blasting Republicans for referring to him and other Iraq war opponents as "Defeatocrats."

In his opinion piece, first published on the Post's Web site Saturday night, Murtha, D-Pa., said Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and others in the White House have called Iraq war opponents appeasers and pessimists and labeled Democrats the "cut and run" party.

"It's all baseless name-calling, and it's all wrong," Murtha wrote. "Unless, of course, being a Defeatocrat means taking a good hard look at the administration's Iraq policy and determining that it's a failure. And Blah Blah Blah

Hillary To McCain: I Apologise

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called John McCain yesterday to personally apologize and denounce comments an adviser of hers reportedly made slamming the GOP senator over his time in captivity in Vietnam.

The move from one potential 2008 presidential candidate to another was sparked by a column in The New York Times, in which Maureen Dowd quoted an anonymous adviser talking about McCain's criticism of the Clintons over their North Korea position.

The adviser said Team Clinton thought McCain was doing the White House's dirty work by criticizing the Clintons and ended up "looking similar to the way he did on those captive tapes from Hanoi, where he recited the names of his crewmates."

That was a reference to an unsubstantiated rumor used to tar McCain, a Vietnam war hero, as off-kilter during the 2000 GOP presidential primary.

Aides to both senators said Clinton reached out to McCain to denounce the comments.

Clinton is said to have a good relationship with McCain, and her circle clearly wasn't pleased with the remarks.

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said, "These comments are reprehensible and they in no way reflect Senator Clinton's feelings."

McCain spokesman John Weaver replied, "Senator Clinton is correct, the remark was reprehensible."

Last week, McCain took what many saw as the first shot of the 2008 race, blasting Clinton for placing blame for North Korea's recent nuclear test on President Bush - and pointed to husband Bill's policies as a "failure."

Clinton has avoided directly criticizing McCain over those comments, instead taking aim at Bush and Republicans at large.

Clinton, facing token opposition in her Senate re-election bid, has said she's focused only on the 2006 mid-term elections, and has stayed mum about her future.

Both senators lead several public polls for their party's nominations for the White House including a University of New Hampshire poll released last week showing voters in the country's first-in-the-nation primary state put McCain and Clinton at the top of the pack.

The comments about McCain's prisoner-of-war days put Clinton's camp in damage-control mode with five weeks left in the 2006 cycle, at a time when everyone around her has stayed on-message.

The landscape among the 2008 presidential hopefuls changed last week when centrist Mark Warner dropped out suddenly, saying he wanted to focus on his family.

Warner had been viewed by many as the "un-Hillary" candidate in a democratic primary and his departure made her the straight away front-runner, experts said.

President Bush Signs 'Safe Port Act'

WASHINGTON — President Bush signed into law Friday a $400 million comprehensive port security bill designed to keep nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons out of the 11 million shipping containers that make their to the U.S. each year.

Tucked into the Security and Accountability for Every Port Act (SAFE) is the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act (UIGA), which is sure to anger the millions of people who play online poker. The UIGA would make it illegal for banks, credit card companies and other financial intermediaries to transfer funds to online gambling sites. It does not outlaw the sites, just makes it illegal to settle online wages.

"We're going to protect our ports. We're going to defend this homeland, and we're going to win this war on terror," Bush said at the signing ceremony, drawing attention to positive news for the Republican-led Congress on the homeland security front just weeks before the midterm elections. Bush did not mention the gambling provision.

He noted that the SAFE Port Act authorizes the development of high-tech inspection equipment so customs agents can check cargo containers for dangerous materials without having to open them. It requires radiation-detection technology at 22 of the nation's busiest ports by the end of next year.

"We'll do everything we can to prevent an attack, but if the terrorists succeed in launching an attack, we'll be ready to respond," Bush said.

The president said the bill codifies the Container Security Initiative, which deploys U.S. inspectors to dozens of foreign ports on five continents where they can screen cargo bound for the United States. He said it also codifies the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, a joint public-private sector initiative in which private shippers agree to improve their own security measures and in return can receive benefits, including expedited clearance through U.S. ports.

Bush also noted that the bill provides additional authority for the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, which was established to guard against the threat of terrorists smuggling a nuclear device into the country. And the act requires the Department of Homeland Security to establish a plan to speed the resumption of trade in the event of a terrorist attack on a U.S. port or waterway.

It is feared that a terrorist attack, such as a nuclear device set off by remote control, could cripple the entire economy as well as cause massive casualties.

"This bill makes clear that the federal government has the authority to clear waterways, identify cleanup equipment and re-establish the flow of commerce following a terrorist attack," the president said.

Congress approved the bill two weeks ago, one of its last acts before lawmakers left to campaign for the Nov. 7 midterm elections in which national security, the war in Iraq and terrorism are expected to be major factors.

The administration has spent about $10 billion to enhance security at the nation's ports since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. About 65 percent of cargo, that considered most high-risk, is screened for nuclear or radiological materials. The Homeland Security Department aims to increase that number to 80 percent by the end of the year and to almost 100 percent by the end of 2007.

The issue became a particular priority for Congress after a fight in February over a buyout that put a Dubai company in control of some operations at six U.S. ports. The outcry led the Dubai company, DP World, to promise it would sell the U.S. operations to an American company. The sale is pending.

Democrats favored the bill, but said it failed to address rail and mass transit, other areas considered highly vulnerable to terrorist attack. The bill was approved on a 409-2 vote in the House, and by a voice vote in the Senate.

The legislation approves $400 million a year over five years for risk-based grants for training and exercises at ports.

Pilot programs would be established at three foreign ports to test technology for nonintrusive cargo inspections. Currently only one foreign port, Hong Kong, scans all U.S.-bound cargo for nuclear materials.

Background checks and credentials will be required for workers at the nation's 361 ports, and the Homeland Security Department would set up protocols for resuming operations after an attack or incident. Preferential cargo processing is offered to importers who meet certain security requirements.

The Internet gambling provision tackles the difficult task of enforcing bans by prohibiting players from using credit cards, checks and electronic fund transfers to settle their online wagers.

The measure's supporters include the National Football League as well as conservative and antigambling groups. Some banking groups have lobbied against it.

Federal officials have made recent arrests involving offshore companies operating Internet gambling sites. The Internet gambling industry is headquartered almost entirely outside the United States, although many of its customers live in the U.S.

Well it's amazing Bush got some Bipartisan support for a change. But no one ever mentions that our Cargo on the other end of the Shipping Port's in other Countries are thoroughly checked before they are loaded on the ships that bring them here! Why is that? Well with the exception of this bill the Republicans have been doing a heck of a job of getting Security Measures passed and to the President's Desk! It's like pulling teeth to get the Democrats to go for any measures of National Security! Why is that?

McCain Hands Hillary Her Ass

Republican Sen. John McCain on Tuesday accused former President Clinton, the husband of his potential 2008 White House rival, of failing to act in the 1990s to stop North Korea from developing nuclear weapons.

"I would remind Senator (Hillary) Clinton and other Democrats critical of the Bush administration's policies that the framework agreement her husband's administration negotiated was a failure," McCain said at a news conference in Southfield, Mich., that followed a campaign appearance for GOP Senate candidate Mike Bouchard.

"The Koreans received millions and millions in energy assistance. They've diverted millions of dollars of food assistance to their military," he added. "We had a carrot-and-no-sticks policy that only encouraged bad behavior."

The Arizona senator and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., are considered their party's front-runners for 2008.

In response to McCain's comments, the New York senator's spokesman, Philippe Reines, said: "President Bush has been in charge of North Korea policy for six years, and two days ago we saw the brazen result."

" .. It is unfortunate that Republicans such as John McCain continue to blindly defend their failed policies for partisan gain rather than exercise true leadership," Reines said.

McCain's criticism also elicited a strong response from Democratic Sen. John Kerry, the 2004 presidential nominee and a potential 2008 candidate.

"He must be trying to burnish his credentials for the nomination process," said Kerry, who labeled McCain's comments "flat politics and incorrect."

Democrats have argued President Clinton presented his successor with a framework for dealing with North Korea and the Republican fumbled the opportunity. In October 2000, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright made a groundbreaking visit to Pyongyang to explore a missile deal with Chairman Kim Jong Il. There was even talk of a visit by President Clinton.

The initial breakthrough occurred in October 1994 when U.S. negotiators persuaded North Korea to freeze its nuclear program, with onsite monitoring by U.N. inspectors. In exchange, the United States, with input from South Korea and Japan, promised major steps to ease North Korea's acute energy shortage.

These commitments were inherited by the Bush administration, which made clear almost from the outset that it believed the Clinton policy ignored key elements of North Korea's activities, especially the threat posed by the hundreds of thousands of troops on permanent duty along the Demilitarized Zone with South Korea.

North Korea's announcement Monday that it tested a nuclear device prompted a number of Democrats to criticize Bush, arguing that he focused on Iraq, a country without weapons of mass destruction, while ignoring legitimate threats from Pyongyang.

"The Bush administration's inaction over the years leaves us once again faced with bad choices," Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said in a statement. He criticized the Bush administration for repeatedly rejecting direct talks with North Korea.

McCain — like Levin, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee — said he strongly opposed one-on-one talks.

"The worst thing we could do is to accede to North Korea's demand for bilateral talks," he said. "When has rewarding North Korea's bad behavior ever gotten us anything more than worse behavior?"

McCain said he backed the administration's call for tough U.N. sanctions against North Korea in response to the reported test. The measures, he said, should include a military embargo, financial and trade sanctions and the right to inspect all cargo in and out of North Korea.

McCain also called on China to "step up to the plate" and vote for sanctions and rejected calls for one-on-one talks between the United States and North Korea.

He predicted that without China's food and energy assistance, North Korea could easily collapse.

"I understand there's mixed emotions about that. What do you do with millions of people in a failed state?" McCain said. "But to have a country ruled by a dictator who is not totally rational with nuclear weapons and missiles to deliver them is an unacceptable scenario."

McCain also said the U.S. must accelerate its missile defense program and invest in a larger active-duty Army and Marine Corps, which he said could be accomplished by increasing educational and other incentives.

However, he said he was not a calling for immediate military action against North Korea.

Speaking of PLANS, we still havent heard ONE, not ONE, from the Liberals! NOTHING! With the exception of "Let's Cut and Run out of Iraq", No One has said yet "Let's Cut and Run out of Kosovo"!! Nope, sorry America isnt going to be Bullied into ANYTHING by North Korea. It's back to the 6 party talks, that's what we want, and that's the way it is. CONFIRMED: U.S. Official: North Korea Tested Nuclear Weapon
Monday, October 09, 2006

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea said Monday it has performed its first-ever nuclear weapons test and the blast had been successfully set off underground with no radioactive leakage from the site.

An official at South Korea's seismic monitoring center confirmed a magnitude-3.6 tremor felt at the time North Korea said it conducted the test was not a natural occurrence. The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition his name not be used, because he was not authorized to talk about the sensitive information to the media.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that information still needs to collected and analyzed to determine whether North Korea truly conducted its first nuclear test.

U.S. and South Korean officials could not immediately confirm the report.

South Korea's Defense Ministry said the alert level of the military had been raised in response to the claimed nuclear test.

The North said last week it would conduct a test, sparking regional concern and frantic diplomatic efforts aimed at dissuading Pyongyang from such a move. North Korea has long claimed to have nuclear weapons, but had never before performed a known test to prove its arsenal.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency said the underground test was performed successfully.

"It marks a historic event as it greatly encouraged and pleased the ... people that have wished to have powerful self-reliant defense capability," the KCNA statement said.

"It will contribute to defending the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the area around it."

South Korean intelligence officials said the seismic wave had been detected in North Hamkyung province, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency. It said the test was conducted at 10:36 a.m. (9:36 p.m. EDT Sunday) in Hwaderi near Kilju city on the northeast coast, citing defense officials.

North Korean scientists "successfully conducted an underground nuclear test under secure conditions," the KCNA report said, adding this was "a stirring time when all the people of the country are making a great leap forward in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation."

The U.S. Geological Survey said it had detected no seismic activity in North Korea, although it was not clear whether a blast would be strong enough for its sensors.

On Sunday night, U.S. government officials said a wide range of agencies were looking into the report of the nuclear test, which officials were taking seriously.

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun has convened a meeting of security advisers over the issue, Yonhap reported, and intelligence over the test has been exchanged between concerned countries.

Kyodo News agency reported that the Japanese government has set up a taskforce in response to reports of the test.

The North has refused for a year to attend international talks aimed at persuading it to disarm. The country pulled out of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty in 2003 after U.S. officials accused it of a secret nuclear program, allegedly violating an earlier nuclear pact between Washington and Pyongyang.

Speculation over a possible North Korean test arose earlier this year after U.S. and Japanese reports cited suspicious activity at a suspected underground test site.

Japan sends aircraft to monitor radiation levels...

North Korea May Conduct Another Nuke Test
Well? What is next? China And Russia are Pissed. And China and Russia are the only ones who can reign in this Chia Pet Psychopath. Is Chia Pet going to go haywire like he did on the Fourth Of July and start launching Missiles at us with Nukes on them this time? All thier Nuclear Fascilities are in Populated areas of North Korea, so I dont know what would happen if we take out thier launchpads, but if we are going to I wish we would take out these launchpads out BEFORE they are Nuclear Armed!! Then we have to remember we have 30,000 troops stationed in South Korea, and I dont know how many stationed in Japan. (On the upside) Quite a bit of our Navy is stationed right off the Coast of N. Korea and Japan. We do have all our Missile Defense Systems Up And Activated. (On the Downside) Bolten said if they (N. Korea) went through with this test it would be a whole new world the day after. (I sure wouldnt want Bolten's Job, I wish they would just confirm this man so we can just get on with business!) I cant even venture a guess at what our response will be to this. I can bet however the (Useless UN) is going to want Sanctions! Isnt it a little LATE for Sanctions? Is that ALL the UN can do is issue Sanctions? I just think China and Russia better have a talk with Lunatic Chia Pet before all hell brakes loose. I wonder if it already has! God Help Us All!!

Hundreds Of Thousands Protest Chavez

Mass Venezuela opposition rally

The rally was on a scale not seen since 2004
Tens of thousands of people have marched through the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, in support of the main opposition candidate, Manuel Rosales.
Mr Rosales will face President Hugo Chavez in December's presidential poll.

The march, which filled the main avenues of the city centre, was the biggest opposition rally Venezuela has seen since early 2004.

Then, protesters made an unsuccessful bid to oust Mr Chavez from power in a recall referendum.

Young and old took to the streets to throw their weight behind the campaign of Mr Rosales, a middle-class Social Democrat who governs the state of Zulia, on the Colombian border.

Many claimed that they were seeking liberty and democracy and that made Mr Rosales their only option:

Rosales criticised Chavez's policy on Venezuela's oil
"The problem of the opposition is that before we had a lot of candidates and people couldn't make up their minds whom to support," one woman said.

"Right now we have just one candidate and I believe that we have a better shot if we have just one candidate against Chavez."

For some it was simply a day out to enjoy the sunshine, but for most it was a chance to listen to a speech by Mr Rosales, who declared that Venezuela was "at a crossroads".

Mr Rosales condemned what he called the cheque book diplomacy of Mr Chavez, accusing him of giving away Venezuela's oil wealth to foreign powers.

If Mr Rosales can keep up this kind of pressure against his rival, the election results may not necessarily be a foregone conclusion.

But for now, Mr Chavez still enjoys a clear lead in opinion polls because of a sense of loyalty that poor and working-class voters feel towards him.

Looks like this America hating Head of State felt the pressure once his people found out what he has been up to no matter how much he tried to keep it a secret! All these nut's with the exception of Iran and North Korea seem to regret thier voting choices once they vote in someone that hates the United States with a vengence and starts carrying on and getting all weird after they have been voted in. At least the people dont hate us. Alot of these Countries are trying to elect leaders friendlier to the United States. We have seen this in several Countries now, with only a few hold outs. I guess they are getting the hint its not wise to have thier leaders on America's "**** List". It appears to me these people see Democracy taking hold throughout the world slowly, and they want a taste of it, and they will throw out anyone who gets in thier way! Gee isnt that what President Bush said was going to happen?

Pelosi Already Picking Out Curtains And New Wall Paper

WASHINGTON - Franklin Roosevelt had his first hundred days.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi is thinking 100 hours, time enough, she says, to begin to "Totally Screw Up The Entire Country" after more than a decade of Republican rule.

As in the first 100 hours the House meets after Democrats — in her fondest wish — win control in the Nov. 7 midterm elections and Pelosi takes the gavel as the first Madam Speaker in history.(Yeah Right!)

Day One: Put new rules in place to "break the link between lobbyists and legislation."(Like that hasnt been tried, besides that would hurt your own campain.)

Day Two: Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. (Uh...Bush already has been doing that Nancy)

Time remaining until 100 hours: Raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, maybe in one step.(Followed the next day by thousands of letters by employers laying off workers that they can no longer afford to pay for, good job Nancy) Cut the interest rate on student loans in half.(Nice if you could pull it off been tried, failed) Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients.(That's not the way it's done Nancy, you dont "Negotiate" with Drug companies, you TELL them.)

Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds — "I hope with a veto-proof majority," she added in an Associated Press interview Thursday.(Dont forget all those lobbyist's and protestors, that you wanted to cut out in day 1 or 2, they will be all over your ass, and you wont get that done either)

All the days after that: "Pay as you go," meaning no increasing the deficit,(What she really means is raising taxes) whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority.(There wont be any relief for anyone once she raises taxes)

To do that, she said, Bush-era tax cuts would have to be rolled back for those above "a certain level."(See I knew raising taxes was in there somewhere) She mentioned annual incomes of $250,000 or $300,000 a year and higher, and said tax rates for those individuals might revert to those of the Clinton era. Details will have to be worked out, she emphasized. (By details will have to be worked out, she really means she still has no plan)

"We believe in the marketplace," Pelosi said of Democrats, then drew a contrast with Republicans. "They have only rewarded wealth, not work." (Funny Nancy I'm not wealthy and I see the increases on my paycheck, here we go raising taxes again)

"We must share the benefits of our wealth" beyond the privileged few, she added. (More Tax Raising)

Pelosi, 66, has been a leader of the House Democrats since 2002. (Way to long) But her political apprenticeship dates to childhood, when her father was mayor of Baltimore.

Now, her political base is about as liberal as it gets, San Francisco. (Isnt that the truth?) It's a fact that Republicans love to emphasize to voters who might want to visit, but not feel comfortable living there. (No foolin)

Republicans find her an attractive political target, (She is) and recently said she would try to "cut-and-run" from Iraq (She would) while "launching bitter partisan investigations" of the Bush administration, possibly including impeachment hearings. (Absolutley of course, and tie this Country up for the next 2 years with this crap, at taxpayer money and expense. We wont have a dime left when Nancy is through with us.)

A grandmother five times over, Pelosi pops chocolates, drinks coffee and flashes her wit. (That explains alot, she's probably hormonal too which adds not just fuel but carosine to the fire) Asked what offices she should would occupy if in the Capitol if she becomes speaker, she laughed. "I'll have any suite I want." (She has to be high)

She would, too. (If left to runamuck, hormonal, and high on chocolate and coffee there's no telling what she's capable of)

"If the election were held today we'd be successful," Pelosi predicted, claiming that her party's prospects are expanding as the campaign enters its final month. "So many other races are emerging right now," she said. (Maybe be should switch to decaf)

Democrats must gain 15 seats to regain the majority they lost in 1994, (Have fun) and have candidates in competitive races for 30 or so Republican-held seats, according to strategists in both parties. By contrast, only about a handful of Democratic-controlled seats appear ripe for possible Republican takeover. (Probably less, but who's counting)

Democrats have a pamphlet that lists all their promises (Remember that PROMISES!! Promises are well thought out ideas that will never be able to be accomplished, but everyone will be told they will be even if it isnt true) and have run through several slogans in the past year or so as they test campaign messages. In recent days, Pelosi said, their prospects have improved by the discovery that former Republican Rep. Mark Foley of Florida had sent sexually explicit computer messages to teenage male pages. (But it didnt bother her a bit when she worked side by side next to Gerry Stubbs D-Mass, that actually HAD SEX with a White House page only got CENSURED, and CONTINUED TO SERVE, Or Barney Frank D-Mass, who ran a homosexual prositution ring from Frank's home and he only got CENSURED! AND STILL SERVES TODAY, right along Nancy Pelosi, and she is worried about EMAIL?)

Not long before sitting down for a lunchtime interview, she turned down a suggestion from Speaker Dennis Hastert that they jointly appoint former FBI Director Louie Freeh to recommend improvements in the page program. (I bet, she knew there would be Democrats caught up with Emails and Instant Messages of thier own. If the FBI investigates)

"That was about protecting their majority" rather than the pages, (I like how she has this new found interest in protecting Pages, why hasnt she been doing that all this time?) she said dismissively. (That was about protecting Democrats from getting found out that they had sexual contacts with White House Pages too, I mean C'mon over 500 members in Congress and only 1 perv? Who are they trying to kid?)

Instead, she wants to put Hastert and other Republicans under oath and make them say what they knew of Foley's actions, when they learned it and what they did to stop him. (Nancy want's to focus this whole thing on Republicans and let the Democrats get away with thier own pervish activities)

The potential for political gain is clear to her. (Which means she's hormanal, and high on chocolate and coffee again)

"It's an opportunity for growth among women" for the Democrats, she said. "They don't always vote and this could be a motivation." (Motivated by who you?, yeah motivated to vote against you!)

With married women, in particular, it's a huge issue, she added. (Maybe the old hippie's in San Francisco)

Among older voters, too. (Same as above)

"If there's an ethical issue, seniors take a hike" and abandon politicians they blame, she said. (Only when you are involved Nancy)

"If we hold onto seniors we win the election." (The Seniors remember the way things used to be and they are sick of your crap)

Well Gee, why should we even bother going to the polls? Nancy Pelosi thinks she has this whole thing wrapped up! She will be Speaker of The House (If that doesnt scare the crap out of everybody I dont know what will), she will have Charlie Rangel for the House Way's and Means Committee, who will institute the DRAFT as fast as possible like he tried just before the 2004 election, and she will have John Conyers as Leader of the House Judiciary Committee, who already has Impeachment Papers drawn up for President Bush, so we can be tied up in that nightmare for 2 years! Way to go Nancy! Basically what she is saying is: She is going to make ALOT of promises she cant possibly keep, raise ALL of our taxes, put people OUT of work, SCREW the economy, Cut and Run from the War on Terror, Re-Instate the Draft, and start Impeachment Proceedings on President Bush that will last for YEARS costing all us Taxpayers, Money, and time, NEEDLESSLY because there is Nothing for the President to be Impeached over, and put pretty much a STOP to Congress altogether for the remaining Bush term! Nothing will get DONE! FOR YEARS! And this is all going to be done during the first 100 hours of her becoming speaker, just think what she can screw up during the rest of her term?. Lord have Mercy! Why go to the polls and VOTE? I can think of a handful of reasons Not To, but I can think of a GAZILLION Reason TO GO! The Ring of Republican Websites
