McCain Hands Hillary Her Ass

Republican Sen. John McCain on Tuesday accused former President Clinton, the husband of his potential 2008 White House rival, of failing to act in the 1990s to stop North Korea from developing nuclear weapons.

"I would remind Senator (Hillary) Clinton and other Democrats critical of the Bush administration's policies that the framework agreement her husband's administration negotiated was a failure," McCain said at a news conference in Southfield, Mich., that followed a campaign appearance for GOP Senate candidate Mike Bouchard.

"The Koreans received millions and millions in energy assistance. They've diverted millions of dollars of food assistance to their military," he added. "We had a carrot-and-no-sticks policy that only encouraged bad behavior."

The Arizona senator and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., are considered their party's front-runners for 2008.

In response to McCain's comments, the New York senator's spokesman, Philippe Reines, said: "President Bush has been in charge of North Korea policy for six years, and two days ago we saw the brazen result."

" .. It is unfortunate that Republicans such as John McCain continue to blindly defend their failed policies for partisan gain rather than exercise true leadership," Reines said.

McCain's criticism also elicited a strong response from Democratic Sen. John Kerry, the 2004 presidential nominee and a potential 2008 candidate.

"He must be trying to burnish his credentials for the nomination process," said Kerry, who labeled McCain's comments "flat politics and incorrect."

Democrats have argued President Clinton presented his successor with a framework for dealing with North Korea and the Republican fumbled the opportunity. In October 2000, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright made a groundbreaking visit to Pyongyang to explore a missile deal with Chairman Kim Jong Il. There was even talk of a visit by President Clinton.

The initial breakthrough occurred in October 1994 when U.S. negotiators persuaded North Korea to freeze its nuclear program, with onsite monitoring by U.N. inspectors. In exchange, the United States, with input from South Korea and Japan, promised major steps to ease North Korea's acute energy shortage.

These commitments were inherited by the Bush administration, which made clear almost from the outset that it believed the Clinton policy ignored key elements of North Korea's activities, especially the threat posed by the hundreds of thousands of troops on permanent duty along the Demilitarized Zone with South Korea.

North Korea's announcement Monday that it tested a nuclear device prompted a number of Democrats to criticize Bush, arguing that he focused on Iraq, a country without weapons of mass destruction, while ignoring legitimate threats from Pyongyang.

"The Bush administration's inaction over the years leaves us once again faced with bad choices," Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said in a statement. He criticized the Bush administration for repeatedly rejecting direct talks with North Korea.

McCain — like Levin, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee — said he strongly opposed one-on-one talks.

"The worst thing we could do is to accede to North Korea's demand for bilateral talks," he said. "When has rewarding North Korea's bad behavior ever gotten us anything more than worse behavior?"

McCain said he backed the administration's call for tough U.N. sanctions against North Korea in response to the reported test. The measures, he said, should include a military embargo, financial and trade sanctions and the right to inspect all cargo in and out of North Korea.

McCain also called on China to "step up to the plate" and vote for sanctions and rejected calls for one-on-one talks between the United States and North Korea.

He predicted that without China's food and energy assistance, North Korea could easily collapse.

"I understand there's mixed emotions about that. What do you do with millions of people in a failed state?" McCain said. "But to have a country ruled by a dictator who is not totally rational with nuclear weapons and missiles to deliver them is an unacceptable scenario."

McCain also said the U.S. must accelerate its missile defense program and invest in a larger active-duty Army and Marine Corps, which he said could be accomplished by increasing educational and other incentives.

However, he said he was not a calling for immediate military action against North Korea.

It's nice when Senator McCain shows he actually has some balls. That's right. Liberals will blame Bush for everything but we are finding out 'DAILY' how LACADASICAL Clinton was at his job, and 'CONSTANTLY' how Naive and Clueless Liberals are when it comes to National Security. And the MESS that was left for the Bush administration, that is STILL being cleaned up today. Hell we still have Troops in Kosovo/Bosnia for Pete's sake, from when Clinton sent the troops there!!! A Country that never even CLAIMED to have had WMD, NEVER threatened to attack America, but was committing Genocide! It's been 11 or 12 YEARS AND THE TROOPS ARE STILL THERE!!! And the Liberals scream about us being in Iraq for 3 Years? My God!!! Was'nt Saddam committing Genocide too? Does anyone remember hearing a PEEP from the Democrats when Chia Pet lobbed off 7 or 8 missiles on July 4th? I DONT!!! But NOW? As a friend of mine wrote on his blog not to long ago "What The Hell Is The Matter With You People"? The Liberals plans when they were in power when it came to National Security FAILED! Just plain FAILED!!! Sometimes doing what's right isnt alway's Popular, Ok with ALL the people, Or even the World, Geez we have ALL seen that. But who besides the United States can tell the United States how to DEFEND the United States? Here we are 4 weeks out of an Election, and the Liberal point of view is "How much more can we Bash Bush"? "Oh WOW we have Emails and Instant Messages from some Freak in the Republican party to a White House Page"! When the Liberals have done WORSE thing's with White House Pages! One even had Sex with an underage Page, but you dont hear the Liberals mentioning that OH NO that would screw up all thier plans! Speaking of PLANS, we still havent heard ONE, not ONE, from the Liberals! NOTHING! With the exception of "Let's Cut and Run out of Iraq", No One has said yet "Let's Cut and Run out of Kosovo"!! Nope, sorry America isnt going to be Bullied into ANYTHING by North Korea. It's back to the 6 party talks, that's what we want, and that's the way it is. That is the ONLY way to solve this mess without them going behind ANY President's back and start thier crap again. The minute President Bush even mentioned Arming Japan, China got up off it's rear and decided they better do something with North Korea! That's the way you get things done anymore. You dont negotiate with people that are a few beers shy of a six pack!! Liberals just cant be trusted with our National Security PERIOD!

McCain had to beat down on Alan Combs last night to make him stop repeating the lie that under Bush the NK's had obtained and devloped material they never had under Clinton. After he was thoroughly dressed down by McCain Combs tried to repaet the same lie when ol Newtie came on. Newt had to dress Combs down again and then asked Combs "didn't Senator McCain already correct you once already about this?" No answer from Combs.

The fact is the agreement by Clinton and co. with the NKs was false like everything else Clinton did. The NKs developed their weapons when they were supposed to be handing over the fuel rodsa but they never ever did and the Bubba admin never called them on it... FACT.

It is the practice of the left to make up some outrageous lie and keep repeating it until it becomes the truth to them. They did that to Newtie and the boys and they're doing it again about NK, Iraq, Iran and anything else they can't win on with the facts. This why people do not like dems.

The Bush admin takes the blame for the many blunders and inattention of Clinton admin. It is said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Yeah well, Bush has had to use many tons of cure to clean up the ounces of mess that the Bubba gang left and I don't mean blue dresses.

Jeez, Marie. Was it really necessary to use the words "McCain", "hands", "Hillary" and "ass" in the same sentence?
Now I'm going to have to go find a train wreck so I can get that picture out of my head.
Ick.

McCain seemed angry, shrill, almost unhinged as he blamed Clinton for North Korea developing a nuclear bomb. I think though the long scream at the end of his talk may hurt his chances at the Presidency in 2008.

Maybe George W. Bush was right in the 2000 campaign when he spread the word that John McCain is unstable. Mr. Bush's people also suggested that he returned from 5 1/2 years as a POW in North Vietnam with a loose screw. And they further bandied about that because of this he shouldn't be entrusted with nuclear weapons?

OK I admit he really didn't scream at the end of his talk. However, unless Sen. McCain can say what it was that President Clinton should have done and why our current President Mr. Bush hasn't done it in the intervening 6 years, he should go off into the sunset with the rest of the "Keating 5".

"McCain was one of the "Keating Five," congressmen investigated on ethics charges for strenuously helping convicted racketeer Charles Keating after he gave them large campaign contributions and vacation trips.

Though he was not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. In the mid-1980s, McCain made at least 9 trips on Keating's airplanes, and 3 of those were to Keating's luxurious retreat in the Bahamas. McCain's wife and father-in-law also were the largest investors (at $350,000) in a Keating shopping center; the Phoenix New Times called it a "sweetheart deal."

- Mafia ties: In 1995, McCain sent birthday regards, and regrets for not attending, to Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonano, the head of the New York Bonano crime family, who had retired to Arizona. Another politician to send regrets was Governor Fife Symington, who has since been kicked out of office and convicted of 7 felonies relating to fraud and extortion.

- At least one veteran's group (U.S. Veteran's Dispatch) really hates him, and accuses McCain of cooperating with the North Vietnamese while he was their prisoner. They also sketch McCain's ties, through his wealthy father-in-law, to various Arizona scandals including the murder of reporter Don Bolles.
Check out their version at the US Veteran's Dispatch web site.

- Family troubles: McCain has a reputation as a politician who has difficulty keeping his pants zipped, according to Republican sources. He acknowledges that his adultery broke up his first marriage. His second wife Cindy, the daughter of a wealthy Budweiser beer distributor, was addicted to prescription narcotics and even stole hard drugs from a medical charity that she ran. McCain acknowledges that she didn't want him to run, and only agreed once he promised that she doesn't have to go to New Hampshire or Iowa.

Marie, it pains me to be seen agreeing with Mrs. Green about whether it's day or night, but she's got a point about Senator McCain.
I spent a number of years as a petty officer in the U.S. Navy, and my experience has been that every naval officer I've encountered was an angry man. I can't explain it, but the Navy manages to raise up leaders who are just mad as hell about something all day, every day. I don't know whether those guys were attracted to the Navy, or they got that way once they were in. But I don't think it could have been me all the time.
On the other hand, insulting girls, while reprehensible, is different from getting drunk, driving off a bridge and then going home, leaving them to drown in one's car.
Happy motoring...

Mrs Green said "At least one veteran's group (U.S. Veteran's Dispatch) really hates him, and accuses McCain of cooperating with the North Vietnamese while he was their prisoner." Why is it that your party all went after The swift boat veterans who you claimed were liars, but somehow this group is reliable. I also find it entertaining that just two weeks ago your party all praised McCain, but now after he actually defends Bush for the first time in a couple years now you all turn on him like the Jackals that you are, and then you sit there and post crap that really has nothing to do with anything like the comments "They also sketch McCain's ties, through his wealthy father-in-law, to various Arizona scandals including the murder of reporter Don Bolles." I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could link you to murders, and scandals as well. Also if you want to talk about mob ties why don't you look at the entire Kennedy Family. Papa Joe had mob ties his entire life, and the mob was pissed off when the Kennedy boys got to Washington, and turned their backs on them. You are so pathetic, every single thing you accuse McCain of (Some of which are fact, some of which are just accusations) are things that major players in your party have done. Reid, Clinton, Kennedy, Kerry all names that could have been switched from Mccain in your story.

For me John McCain is just a part of the political fray that goes on. I have respect for the fact that he was a prisoner of war and a Naval officer. McCain served his country and I am well aware of that group that denegrates him and calls him a sell out and traitor during his stay at the Hanoi Hilton. I don't assign much credibilty to them but I'm aware of what they are saying.

Having said that though, I believe that just because you have served your country or even if you were a hero on the battlefield, that doesn't give you free reign to ride roughshod over our political system. There have been many that have come and gone that started out their careers as honorable men but gave up that status for ill gotten gains. John Murtha (ABSCAM), John Glenn and John McCain(Keating Five), Randy Duke Cunnigham (Bribery and kicbacks), John Kerry (False anti-war testimony before congress), and the list goes on. The point is; because you have distinguished yourself as a hero or an honorable person in the service of your country, it is much more important and difficult that you not fall victim to ill gotten and tainted gains from the notoriety of those actions.

If you want people to remember your good deeds for all your life you must strive to make your life unimpeachable after that because there will always be those trying to tear you down with lies an innuendo for political gain so you must be extra vigilant to be above board.
