Do We Realy Care Anymore? And If So, Why?

Why on God's green earth do we the People of the United States of America give two hoots what other countries think about us?
We know who we are.
Do we need to spend eternity trying to convince a world that is hell bent on hating us anyway not to?
CBS (Dan Rather and Memogate), Newsweek, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, Saddam in his drawers, and countless other media blunders are just adding fuel to a fire that has been burning for a long long time anyway, so why do we feel the need to repair an image that has been tarnished (Some by our own actions) but mostly by other countries media, and views of the U.S. that have never been kind to the United States to begin with?
I am tired of hearing what heathens the people of the United States are!
We have given more aid to disaster victims over the years in other countries than ANYONE else in the World.
We have come to the aid of more countries under Tyrany than ANYONE else in the World.
We have Liberated more people, and freed more people than ANYONE else in the World.
We have opened our doors to more imagrants than ANYONE else in the World.
etc., etc.
We know who we are.
No we dont always agree, hell half the time we act like we are on the brink of civil war in this country, but we realy arent.
And civil war never seems to materialize. And we voice our opinions, and protest, and stomp our feet like children when we dont get our way, then we go on about our business.
We are definately unique, to say the least.
Maybe no one understands us like we understand ourselves, and maybe we shouldnt care if others "Get us" or not!
And when attacked, for a few fleeting seconds we ALL come together as a Nation, a big Family, if only for a few minutes before we go back to fighting amongst ourselves.
Or it maybe days, maybe weeks, but it seems like minutes to me.
That is what I would like to see all the time, those fleeting minutes.
But that will probably never happen as long as we are so obsessed with what others think about us.
Or as long as we buy into or throw in with those in the Main Stream Media who are hell bent on getting those that hate us anyway to either hate us even more or make new enemys to hate us along with those that already do!
I just dont care anymore who hates us and who doesnt!
Why do we waste our time on trying to convince people that are going to hate us anyway, not to?
I havent wasted a minutes sleep on how many people hate us, and I dont intend to start now.
I know who we are.
We are AMERICANS!
And that is a GOOD thing! I am PROUD to call myself an AMERICAN!!
And those that dont like us, TO BAD! You are the losers for not getting to know us, or trying to, or throwing in with those that hate us. YOU are the ones missing out on what unique people we are. How we LOVE, how we GIVE, how we FEEL!
It's YOU who are missing out on OUR generosity.
And to those who Love us, BACK AT YOU!!!
