Barack Obama Throws His Pastor Under The Bus

So Barack Obama finally got rid of his Pastor Jerimiah Wright. I think it's a little to late.

This man has caused so much damage with his mouth it's probably not fixable and he probably isnt done yet.

He has said things like, God Da** America, America of KKK, "A", The American Government had created AIDS to get rid of black people, America's Chickens are coming home to roost, White this white that, hate speech extrordinare etc..etc..etc..

You cannot tell me Obama sat in the pews hearing Wright preach and NEVER heard this crap! You just cant. If that were the case and Obama never heard any of this in 20 years then why did Obama dis-invite the Pastor to Obama's speech he made saying he was running for President? He (Obama) said "You are a little to radical for me so you can pray with me backstage and that's it"! Ok if Obama knew Pastor Wright was to radical back then, then he must have known all along that his Pastor was radical from the get go.

Which leads me to believe this is ALL a Political ploy. Like Pastor Wright said: "Obama will have to say what he has to say to get elected", and now, he has done just that. There was probably a phone call to Wright from Obama last night saying "Rev Wright, you know I am going to really have to trash you tommorrow, and the Pastor probably said that's ok son you do what you have to do to get elected".

None of this leads me to believe that Obama sat in those pews in Wright's Church, never heard any of this hate speech, had himself baptised by Rev Wright, his daughter's baptised by Rev Wright, and that explains why his wife Michelle has said "She has never been so proud to be an American", of course not now that her husband is in the race, and was winning, and that Barack Obama in 20 years, 20 YEARS, never heard ANY of this.

Then again you have Obama's ties to William Ayres of the Weather Underground a Convicted Felon/Terrorist who wishes he had done more than just bombing the Pentagon. Obama goes to a fundraiser sponsored by this man, and knew good and well who he was because Ayres loves to brag about it, and accept's this man's donations for his campaign!

There is a whole lot more to Barack Obama than ANY of us know, and hopefully this will all come out soon, so we dont get duped into believeing he is the messiah, the savior, when he is anything but.

Supreme Court Says States Can Demand Photo ID For Voting

States can require voters to produce photo identification, the Supreme Court ruled Monday, upholding a Republican-inspired law that Democrats say will keep some poor, older and minority voters from casting ballots.

Twenty-five states require some form of ID, and the court's 6-3 decision rejecting a challenge to Indiana's strict voter ID law could encourage others to adopt their own measures. Oklahoma legislators said the decision should help them get a version approved.

The ruling means the ID requirement will be in effect for next week's presidential primary in Indiana, where a significant number of new voters are expected to turn out for the Democratic contest between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

The results could say something about the effect of the law, either because a large number of voters will lack identification and be forced to cast provisional ballots or because the number turns out to be small.

Supporters of the law say it's all about preventing fraud.

Indiana has a "valid interest in protecting 'the integrity and reliability of the electoral process,'" said Justice John Paul Stevens in an opinion that was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Stevens said that Indiana's desire to prevent fraud and to inspire voter confidence in the election system are important even though there have been no reports of the kind of fraud the law was designed to combat. Evidence of voters being inconvenienced by the law's requirements also is scant. For the overwhelming majority of voters, an Indiana driver's license serves as the identification.

The law does not apply to absentee balloting, where election experts agree the threat of fraud is higher.

The Indiana law was passed in 2005. Democrats and civil rights groups opposed it as unconstitutional and called it a thinly veiled effort to discourage groups of voters who tend to prefer Democrats.

It was in effect during the 2006 elections when Democrats picked up three congressional seats in Indiana and won control of the state House of Representatives.

Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas agreed with the outcome Monday, but wrote separately in favor of a broader defense of voter ID laws.

"The universally applicable requirements of Indiana's voter-identification law are eminently reasonable. The burden of acquiring, possessing and showing a free photo identification is simply not severe, because it does not 'even represent a significant increase over the usual burdens of voting,'" Scalia said.

Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and David Souter dissented.

Indiana's voter ID law "threatens to impose nontrivial burdens on the voting rights of tens of thousands of the state's citizens," Souter said.

The targets of the law, he said, are "voters who are poor and old."

Yet Stevens wrote that the law does not single out groups of voters for different treatment. "We cannot conclude that the statute imposes 'excessively burdensome requirements' on any class of voters," he said. That opinion suggested the outcome could be different in a state where voters could provide evidence that their rights had been impaired.

Indiana provides IDs free of charge to people without driver's licenses. It also allows voters who lack photo ID's to cast a provisional ballot and then show up within 10 days at their county courthouse to produce identification or otherwise attest to their identity.

Stevens said these provisions also help reduce the burden on people who lack driver's licenses.

Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita, a Republican, praised the decision. "This says to the voter you can have confidence again in the elections because we're doing some of the things the guy at the video store does when you go and rent a video," Rokita said.

Ken Falk, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana, said the court was willing to burden "tens of thousands of eligible voters who lack a government-issued identification while accepting at face value Indiana's unsubstantiated claim of voter fraud." The ACLU brought the case on behalf of Indiana voters.

The proliferation of voter ID laws followed the enactment in 2002 of the federal Help America Vote Act. The law was designed in response to the disputed 2000 presidential election. The law's voter ID provisions apply to first-time voters and do not mandate photo identification.

Many Democrats criticized the ruling Monday. It places "an unnecessary burden on elderly and low-income voters, not to mention other voters of disparate racial and ethnic backgrounds," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

Mary Wilson, president of the League of Women Voters, said her group has never found a problem with in-person voter fraud. "We'd be the first ones out there to prevent voter fraud, if there really was a problem," she said.

Several critics pointed to a footnote in Stevens' opinion to show how far back he went — 140 years — to describe the corrosive effects of widespread fraud at polling places, a reference to Boss Tweed's influence in New York's municipal elections in 1868.

Republicans, meanwhile, praised the decision for recognizing the threat of voter fraud. "Today's ruling rightfully allows states to safeguard against such destructive abuse," said House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio.

In Oklahoma, Republican legislators said the ruling should help them pass a less-stringent voter ID bill. The Oklahoma House has approved legislation to require voters to present some form of identification — including a utility bill or bank statement. The measure faces a final vote by the state Senate.

Monday's case was the court's first significant foray into election law since the Bush v. Gore dispute that sealed the 2000 election for George W. Bush. The voter ID ruling, with no majority opinion and four of the nine justices writing, lacked the conservative-liberal split that marked the 2000 case.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WOW! So that means the Democrats cant register Dead People, Illegal Aliens, and Convicted Felons to vote like last time. I'm all for this. I've alway's had to show ID in Oklahoma to vote as it is. And most states hand out Identification Cards for free anyway. This wont prevent all voter fraud, but it will eleiminate a great portion of it :-)
I Knew It, I Knew It, The Nation Of Islam Is Involved With Barack Obama And His Pastor
Listening to Jeremiah Wright this morning, thought he would clear up all the rhetoric he spewed and distance himself from it all and to my shock and awe (Yeah Right) he did nothing of the kind.
Now he is recieving death threat's and who is protecting him? THE NATION OF ISLAM!! This should really come as NO surprise to anyone.
Here we go, with Barack Obama that is who and what we would have to deal with The Nation of Islam, The Black Panthers, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc.
Enough is enough of this nonsense.
I have been saying this all along.
Foxnews has some of this story *snip*
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright taunted a gathering of journalists Monday in Washington, D.C., calling their coverage of his speeches an attack on the black church, while defending his claim that the U.S. was responsible for the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
Wright, the controversial former pastor of Barack Obama’s church, took dead aim at the U.S. government Monday — saying American soldiers in Iraq have died “over a lie” and calling the war “unjust” — as he called for reconciliation and understanding between blacks and whites.
Wright was speaking at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. as he continues a series of nationwide appearances following an uproar over remarks he made in some of his sermons delivered from the pulpit.
On Monday, he did not shy away from tossing sharp barbs, either at the media, at the government or at other public figures.
Answering his first question, Wright first chided the questioner for not having heard the whole sermon, and then defended comments he made shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks that the United States had brought terrorism onto itself.
“If you heard the whole sermon, first of all, you heard that I was quoting the ambassador from Iraq. … But Number Two, to quote the Bible: ‘Be not deceived. God is not mocked, for whatsoever you sew, that you shall’ –” he paused, and then some members of the audience responded, “Reap.”
He continued: “Jesus said do unto others as you would have them do unto you. You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you. Those are biblical principles, not Jeremiah Wright bombastic, divisive principles.”
Wright also faced a question about his patriotism.”I served six years in the military. Does that make me patriotic?” he asked. “How many years did (Vice President Dick) Cheney serve?”
Wright also said fought off criticisms that he used “bombastic language” and fended off questions about Obama’s level of religious participation, even while painting Obama as a regular church-goer.
When Wright said Obama had distanced himself from speeches he had not heard in their entirety, Wright faced a follow up question on whether Obama was a regular attendee, or if he dozed during services.
He told the questioner: “He goes to church about as much as you do. What did your pastor preach in the last week? You don’t know?”
But Wright also said he wouldn’t refrain from criticism of Obama.
He said he has told Obama that if he is elected in November and is inaugurated in January, “I’m coming after you.” He said that’s because his differences are not with the American people, but U.S. policies.
“Whether he gets elected or not, I’m still going to have to be answerable to God on November 5 and January 21,” Wright said.
But during his remarks, Wright also sought to put space between what he called “attacks” on the black church and possibilities for racial harmony.
“The most recent attack on the black church, it is not an attack on Jeremiah Wright, it is an attack on the black church,” Wright said.
He frequently criticized the press, but also said the heightened scrutiny of him and the black church could serve as a bridge for reconciliation and a decrease in the kinds of racial hatred that were exhibited during slavery, apartheid and by groups such as the Ku Klux Klan.
“Maybe this dialog on race … can move the people of faith in this country from various stages of alienation and marginalization to the exciting possibility of reconciliation.”
Obama’s association with Wright came into question after media reports this spring examined speeches over the years by Wright. At one point he bellowed, “God damn America,” and he has referred to the United States as the “U.S. of KKK-A.” Wright recently retired as senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Obama has attended for the past 20 years.
The pastor has set out to set the record straight, last week appearing in his first interview since the controversy erupted, and over the weekend giving two sermons and making an appearance at an NAACP event Sunday night in Detroit.
On Monday, his address in Washington is part of a tw0-day symposium on the African-American religious experience.
Yet the controversy isn’t appearing to go away. Even as Republican presidential candidate John McCain condemns the North Carolina GOP for focusing on Obama and Wright’s relationship in a new advertisement, yet another ad — this time in Mississippi congressional district race — has surfaced.
The ad comes from Republican candidate Greg Davis, who is running against Democrat Travis Childers.
The ad says: “Obama says Childers will put progress before politics, but when Obama’s pastor cursed America, blaming us for 9/11, Childers said nothing. When Obama ridiculed rural folks for clinging to guns and religion, Childers said nothing. Travis Childers: He took Obama’s endorsement over our conservative values. Conservatives just can’t trust Travis Childers.”
In Case You Missed It/Gordon Brown PM Britain: "World Owes President Bush Debt Of Gratitude"
With the Pope's Visit last week this event was overshadowed and of course no media oulet is going to cover this.
Brown upbeat on US ‘special relationship’
Gordon Brown heaped praise on George W. Bush with language evoking Tony Blair on Thursday, as he sought to overcome the impression that the “special relationship” had entered a cooler phase.
Speaking at a joint press conference in the White House Rose Garden, Mr Brown said he stood “shoulder to shoulder” with Mr Bush in a transatlantic bond that was “stronger than ever”. “The world owes President Bush a huge debt of gratitude in leading the world in our determination to root out terrorism,” Mr Brown said.
In taking the measure of the next US president, the prime minister hoped to find fresh long-term purpose for a relationship that has become mired in the trials of conducting two wars and tackling a financial downturn.
Relations between Britain and the US have appeared to become less close since the departure of Mr Blair, who had a particularly strong relationship with Mr Bush. Tensions have emerged with Mr Brown, particularly over policy in Iraq.
On Thursday, Mr Bush and Mr Brown made a show of unity, delivering a tough message to Iran over its nuclear programme and advocating the widening of European Union sanctions against Tehran. Mr Brown pledged to talk to EU leaders in coming days to broaden sanctions to liquefied gas, sending “another signal to the regime that what is happening is unacceptable”. Mr Bush praised Mr Brown for his tough stance on Iran, saying “he sees the threat as I do”.
Addressing the faltering world economy, Mr Brown called for “vigilance” and concerted action to restore international confidence but there were no specific proposals from the two leaders.
Turning to Zimbabwe, Mr Bush chastised President Robert Mugabe for presiding over a sham election. “What kind of election is it if you [do] not let the will of the people be known,” he said.
Both leaders were at pains to stress the enduring strength of bilateral ties, referring to the “special relationship” a dozen times. Disagreements over strategy in Iraq, highlighted by recent fighting in Basra, were glossed over. While some US officials are privately critical of the UK’s handling of southern Iraq, Mr Bush chose to praise the heroism of British troops, while Mr Brown pledged there would be no “artificial timetable for withdrawal”.
Amid the pleasantries, however, there was room for disagreement. Mr McCain has expressed disappointment about the UK troop drawdown in Iraq, while Mr Brown's pro-trade instincts clash with the protectionist rhetoric of Ms Clinton and Mr Obama. But Mr Brown believes there are important areas of agreement, particularly on climate change, with whomever is elected. The change of administration is, in his mind, an opportunity to recast relations across the Atlantic.
Convincing the candidates to leave the campaign trail to meet him was perhaps the biggest coup of Mr Brown's trip to America, which has been eclipsed by the Pope’s visit.
I agree! The world does owe President Bush a debt of gratitude going after the terrorists. It's so nice to see the leader of another Nation saying the same thing we have known for a long time. I wish I had time to have posted this earlier but the Pope took over my blog for a while :-)
Disneyland Comes To Baghdad
Llewellyn Werner admits he is facing obstacles most amusement park developers never have to deal with – insurgent attacks and looting.
When you are building an amusement park in downtown Baghdad, those risks come with the territory.
Mr Werner, chairman of C3, a Los Angeles-based holding company for private equity firms, is pouring millions of dollars into developing the Baghdad Zoo and Entertainment Experience, a massive American-style amusement park that will feature a skateboard park, rides, a concert theatre and a museum. It is being designed by the firm that developed Disneyland. “The people need this kind of positive influence. It’s going to have a huge psychological impact,” Mr Werner said.
The 50-acre (20 hectare) swath of land sits adjacent to the Green Zone and encompasses Baghdad’s existing zoo, which was looted, left without power and abandoned after the American-led invasion in 2003. Only 35 of 700 animals survived – some starved, some were stolen and some were killed by Iraqis fearing food shortages.
In the years that followed, the zoo and the surrounding al-Zawra park became an occasional target for insurgent attacks. But in recent months, families have begun to return cautiously for weekend picnics. Renovations have already begun on the zoo, with cages being repainted and new animals arriving, including ostriches, bears and a lion.
Baghdad Zoo
Mr Werner, who has been sold a 50-year lease on the site by the Mayor of Baghdad for an undisclosed sum, says that the time is ripe for the amusement park. “I think people will embrace it. They’ll see it as an opportunity for their children regardless if they’re Shia or Sunni. They’ll say their kids deserve a place to play and they’ll leave it alone.”
Ali al-Dabbagh, a spokesman for the Government, is equally optimistic: “There is a shortage of entertainment in the city. Cinemas can’t open. Playgrounds can’t open. The fun park is badly needed for Baghdad. Children don’t have any opportunities to enjoy their childhood.” Mr al-Dabbagh added that entry to the park would be strictly controlled.
The project will cost $500 million (£250 million) and will be managed by Iraqis. Under the terms of the lease, Mr Werner will retain exclusive rights to housing and hotel developments, which he says will be both culturally sensitive and enormously profitable. “I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t making money,” he said. “I also have this wonderful sense that we’re doing the right thing – we’re going to employ thousands of Iraqis. But mostly everything here is for profit.”
A $1 million skateboard park, the first phase of the development, will open in July. Parts for 200,000 skateboards and materials to build ramps will be shipped from America to Iraq for assembly at state-owned factories and distributed free to Iraqi children along with helmets and knee pads.
The larger entertainment park, designed by Ride and Show Engineering Inc, will follow in phases, part of a strategy launched two years ago by the Iraqi Government and the US to attract private investment into the country’s 192 state-owned factories.
The factories were closed in 2003 by Paul Bremer, then the head of the Coalition Provisional Authority, who believed that private enterprise would take their place. Instead, industries withered and half a million skilled workers were left jobless.
A task force headed by Paul Brinkley, Deputy Under Secretary of Defence for Business Transformation, is now attempting to revive Iraq’s factories – a task undermined by persistent violence.
But Mr Werner, whose company manages several hundred million dollars of equity, sees Iraq as a great opportunity. “Iraq to me is an open field. I have never in my life seen an opportunity with the potential that Iraq has with its skilled workforce and oil reserves.” He has begun partnerships with several Iraqi factories in the last year, investing tens of millions of dollars in joint ventures. But the Baghdad Zoo and Entertainment Experience could prove the most ambitious. General David Petraeus, head of US forces, is said to be a “big supporter” of the project, according to Mr Brinkley.
“There are all sorts of investment opportunities all over Iraq. But it’s not just hydrocarbons. Half the Iraqi population is under the age of 15. These kids really need something to do,” Mr Brinkley said.
House Republicans Challenge Pelosi On Gas High Prices
House GOP challenges Pelosi For Gas Price Plan
House Republican leaders on Tuesday challenged Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to release a plan to lower gas prices that they say Democrats touted when they were in the minority.
“Two years ago this week, you stated that House Democrats had a ‘commonsense plan’ to ‘lower gas prices,’ ” the letter said. “In light of the skyrocketing gasoline prices affecting working families and every sector of our struggling economy, we are writing today to respectfully request that you reveal this ‘commonsense plan’ so we can begin work on responsible solutions to help ease this strain.”
The letter is signed by Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.), Policy Chairman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) as well as other members of leadership: Reps. Kay Granger (R-Texas), John Carter (R-Texas), Tom Cole (R-Okla.) and Eric Cantor (R-Va.).
In a press release dated April 24, 2006, Pelosi said, “Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.” The letter cited policies put in place during the GOP control of Congress that the Speaker claimed had raised prices on American consumers to benefit oil companies.
The House GOP leaders’ letter points out that the price of gasoline has spiked $1.18 since Democrats took over in January and stands at $3.51.
“Once a nightmare scenario, $4 gasoline is now a very real possibility of becoming a summer staple,” the letter stated. “In some cities, including San Francisco and Chicago, it is already a startling reality.”
Pelosi’s office did not respond immediately for comment.
The political drumbeat against high gas prices in the House coincidences with that of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who has made the issue a key campaign talking point.
McCain has called for a suspension of the gas tax to help consumers get through the summer months.
The McCain campaign and congressional Republicans have met repeatedly in recent weeks in an effort to coordinate their messages.
Ya know, Pelosi and Co were elected on the premise that she was going to Lower Gas Prices, Impeach President Bush, and snatch Victory out of the mouths of our Troops in Iraq. NONE of this has been accomplished. What has Congress done since they have taken over the Majority in both houses?
Hamas Endorses Obama, Enough Of Obama, Enough Is Enough
Hamas Endorses Obama
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has received an endorsement he might well wish he hadn’t — from the militant Palestinian group Hamas.
Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas’ top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, delivered his endorsement in an interview with WorldNetDaily and WABC Radio in New York.
“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections,” Yousuf said.
“I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America, to [put] it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance.”
The U.S. and Israel have been seeking to isolate Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in June and is classified by the State Department as a terrorist group.
Obama, as well as presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John McCain, have all referred to Hamas as a “terrorist organization,” according to WorldNetDaily.
Asked about Obama’s criticism of former President Jimmy Carter’s meeting with Hamas during his Middle Eastern trip, Yousuf said:
“I understand American politics and this is the season for elections and everybody tries to sound like he’s a friend of Israel…
“I hope Mr. Obama and the Democrats will change the political discourse when one of them will be the president.”
