And The Liberal Corruption Goes On And On And On...

What follows was the original story I was going to post before I left for a bit. I had no idea it was going to turn into this mess. But since it has evolved into this outburst by both parties I feel compelled to get in my two cents ;-)
First of all, if you Republican's dont have anything to hide, SHUT UP!!! This guy had $90,000 dollars stashed away in his freezer, money he recieved as a bribe!!! With another country involved, like Nigeria for instance, that seems to me that he would qualify to not only be swooped on by the FBI, but possibly be put on the terrorist watch list!

FBI affidavit details Jefferson's dealings
By Bill Walsh
and Bruce Alpert
Washington bureau

WASHINGTON - The tony Ritz-Carlton in northern Virginia was the spot for the latest meeting between Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, and Lori Mody, a wealthy businesswoman he was secretly working with to launch telecommunications deals in West Africa.

It was July 30, 2005, and, after the morning meeting, the two walked to the hotel parking lot. Jefferson reached into her car trunk and pulled out a leather briefcase containing $100,000 cash meant to grease the palms of Nigerian officials.
He slipped the case into a reddish-brown cloth bag, placed it on the seat of his Lincoln Town Car and drove off.

Unknown to Jefferson, Mody also had been working with the FBI, which videotaped the transaction from several vantage points. Four days later, agents would raid Jefferson’s home on Capitol Hill and recover $90,000 in a freezer, where stacks of $100 bills were wrapped in aluminum foil and stored in frozen-food containers.

.............William Jefferson D-LA

That colorful - and potentially damning - tableau came to light Sunday in an affidavit released by the FBI. Agents had used the affidavit to persuade a federal judge to let them search Jefferson’s congressional office a day earlier.

Jefferson has not been charged, and last week he declared his innocence, saying he has never sought anything for himself or his family in return for performing the duties of a congressman. On Sunday, his attorney Robert Trout blasted the government, saying the disclosure was “part of a public relations agenda and an obvious attempt to embarrass Congressman Jefferson.”

The 95-page document is certain to raise the pressure on the congressman, who said last week that he wouldn’t resign despite an ongoing House ethics investigation. The affidavit quotes him on a wiretap telling Mody, “I make a deal for my children,” and at another point, “I’m in the shadows, behind the curtain.” It even captures him laughing at their cloak-and-dagger methods “as if the FBI is watching.”

Agent Timothy Thibault’s affidavit provides the most detailed accounting yet of the federal bribery probe of the eight-term congressman, which has already resulted in guilty pleas by two of Jefferson’s associates. A northern Virginia grand jury has been hearing evidence in the case.

At the center of the yearlong probe is a small Kentucky telecommunications company called iGate, which had developed novel technology to transmit high-speed Internet service across copper wires such as those used in developing countries in West Africa.

As part of his guilty plea earlier this month, iGate CEO Vernon Jackson said he paid more than $450,000 and millions of shares of iGate stock to a company, identified Sunday as ANJ Group LLC and operated by Jefferson’s wife, Andrea, in exchange for the congressman’s help.

The FBI affidavit released Sunday suggests a far broader and lucrative scheme was afoot, alleging that Jefferson also sought and received bribes directly from a “cooperating witness,” who sources say is Mody and who was to provide financing for the iGate ventures in Africa.

Among other things, the documents say:
- The FBI videotaped Jefferson receiving a stock certificate from Mody for a company set up in Nigeria to promote iGate’s technology. Jefferson predicted the deal would generate $200 million annually after five years.
- Jefferson told Mody that he wanted a similar financial stake in the business in Ghana.
- Jefferson sought $10 million in financing from Mody to take over iGate and install “confidants” on the new board. In two payments, Mody wired $89,225 to the ANJ Group LLC, a company controlled by Jefferson’s family.
- Jefferson lent $4,800 of the money Mody gave him to an unnamed congressional aide. Another $4,900 was given back to the FBI by one of Jefferson’s attorneys.
- The FBI claims it has uncovered “at least seven other schemes in which Jefferson sought things of value in return for his official acts.”

According to the affidavit, Mody triggered the FBI investigation in March 2005. She had paid $3.5 million to acquire the rights to iGate’s technology but grew wary when Jackson, the company CEO, refused to comply. Believing she had been defrauded, Mody went to the FBI and soon began wearing a wire.
Through Brett Pfeffer, a former aide to Jefferson who pleaded guilty in January, a dinner meeting was set up between Mody and the congressman. They decided to go ahead with the iGate deal in Nigeria. But first, Jefferson told Mody, a key palm needed to be greased.

In a recorded conversation, Jefferson said that a top Nigerian official was scheduled to arrive in Washington shortly. Jefferson described him as a businessman “who has more deals than the man in the moon” and “He’s a very, well, the word might be .¤.¤. corrupt.”

The official, Jefferson later said, could be bribed by funneling money through a charitable foundation run by the official’s wife, which Jefferson called a “front.”
The official’s name is redacted from the search warrant affidavit, but it is believed to be Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whose Maryland home was also raided in August by the FBI. His wife, Jennifer, operates an AIDS foundation in Washington, D.C. Neither could be reached for comment on Sunday.

Jefferson later told Mody that the unnamed official demanded 50 percent of profits from a joint venture launched in Nigeria and would probably need $500,000 up front, $100,000 of which was in the briefcase she handed to Jefferson three months later.

Jefferson was also seeking a share for his family, the affidavit says. In December 2004, Jefferson had demanded a 5 percent to 7 percent share of the Nigerian business for his five daughters, “to be split equally among them.” At a dinner meeting in May with Mody, the number went up.

On scraps of paper, the two passed messages back and forth across the table, cryptically negotiating in writing with symbols and figures that Mody later turned over the FBI. In one Jefferson wrote the letter “c” and then “18-20.”
“The ‘c’ is like for children,” he said. “I wouldn’t show up in there .¤.¤. I make a deal for my children. It wouldn’t be me.”

As they continued to scribble notes, Jefferson laughed.
“All these damn notes we’re writing to each other as if we’re talking, as if the FBI is watching,” he said.

In June, the FBI listened and watched when Mody delivered a stock certificate to Jefferson over dinner. It transferred 30 percent of Mody’s new Nigerian company to another firm called Global Energy & Environmental Services. Jefferson told her it was a Nigerian company “in the name of (his) children which has been in existence for the past two to three years,” according to the FBI affidavit.

Jefferson told Mody that a son-in-law ran Global and that another son-in-law should be employed in the joint venture “to run things in Nigeria.”
In July, Mody and Jefferson met again to discuss the possibility of replicating the Nigerian deal in Ghana. He was to travel to Ghana that month and meet with top government officials to promote iGate.

“As far as Ghana goes,” Mody asked him over dinner, “are you happy with the 30 percent in Ghana?”

According to the affidavit, Jefferson pointed to a scrap of paper on which was written, “WJ 30%.” He scratched out “WJ” and wrote instead, “Global.”
Even as they discussed the future, Jefferson was worried about the financial stability of iGate, according to the FBI document. He confided to Mody he had grown frustrated with the CEO, Jackson, and the company’s deepening debt.
“I’m not going to let him let me use my good offices, whatever they are, and then to make arrangements and then blow it out. I’m not gonna to do that,” Jefferson said.

Jefferson proposed buying a controlling interest in iGate by way of ANJ, “a Louisiana company controlled by Jefferson and kept ostensibly in the name of his wife and children,” the affidavit says. Jefferson proposed that Mody finance the takeover with $10 million, allowing him to install “several confidants” on the board and demote Jackson.

According to the FBI, two installments totaling $89,222 were deposited in a New Orleans bank account belonging to the ANJ Group.

Details of numerous other Jefferson business deals still under investigation were blacked out of the affidavit, as was the name of another target of the investigation. It seems that because of Hurricane Katrina, some New Orleans banks have been slow to produce documents requested by authorities. But the FBI detailed one deal involving a Nigerian company called NetLink, known as NDTV, which had agreed to finance iGate’s business before Mody entered the scene.

The deal is significant because it introduces another cooperating witness besides Mody “with first hand knowledge of the transaction,” the affidavit says. The witness told the FBI that Jefferson demanded $5 per subscriber for the broadband service in Nigeria.

But in early 2004, NDTV pulled out of the deal and sought its $6.5 million investment back. The company hired attorneys in the United States and they wrote to Jefferson suggesting that he had violated criminal and civil laws in the Nigeria.

The letter, recovered in the search of his home in August, said Jefferson had received money for his help in the deal.

“I have also attached a list of your bank accounts through which you insisted money be paid (which it was) to you in relation to the iGate/NDTV transaction,” the lawyer wrote.

The attorney included a list of bank accounts belonging to ANJ Group and Jefferson Interests Inc., which the FBI said was controlled by the congressman.
Evidently concerned that the Republican Bush administration would be attacked for investigating a Democratic congressman, the FBI took steps to insulate itself.

The affidavit says the agency set up “special search procedures” such as having agents not working on the case search Jefferson’s office and having all documents screened by a multiagency “filter team” also unconnected to the case. Jefferson would be alerted about anything deemed “privileged,” and documents would be kept from prosecutors unless approved by a federal judge.
The FBI document suggests that the 59-year-old Jefferson saw himself at the end of his political career, which has spanned 16 years in Congress and several terms in the Louisiana legislature.

At one point, Mody asked him how long he planned to continue.
“I’m going to get your deal out of the way,” he said. “I probably won’t last long after that.”

The Rant has a very good opinion of the recent developements.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If the Liberals are trying to run on the platform of "Republicans are the party of corruption" they should all get on the next boat to never never land! With all the recent mind boggling (Yeah Right) encounters with the law the Liberals have had to deal with, Congresswoman McKinney hitting a Capitol Hill Police Officer, Patrick Kennedy (The Drunken Murderer's son) caught driving under the influence at 3 am heading for the Capitol thinking he had to vote in his fogged out under the influence of whatever he was on's mind and then only after being caught checks himself into rehab, The congresswoman who's son got sentenced for slashing Republican "Get Out The Vote" Vans on election day, Harry Reid not only accepting money from Jack Abramoff but refusing to give it back, accepting Vegas Boxing tickets that he probably shouldnt have, and now this!! William Jefferson!!! WOW!! There is alot more I have on other posts but this is just to name a few. A FEW!!! Which also makes this picture a bit redundant at this point.
I Swear, look at them! They say honest leadership? When was the last time you saw honest leadership out of the Democrats? Look at them seriously! You can see deciept in thier actions. This is incontionable.
I'm just saying if the Liberals have this to run on, and only this, they have thier heads up thier peverbial "You Know What". And the Liberal Corruption just continues on and on and on.....To deffinately be continued!
What The Hell Is Wrong With Congressman John Murtha?
NBC Promotes as 'New' Murtha's Stale Charge About Marines Killing Iraqi Civilians
On the six month anniversary of Democratic Congressman John Murtha's successful publicity stunt call for the U.S. to withdraw from Iraq, Wednesday's NBC Nightly News jumped on the chance to highlight Murtha's charge that last November some Marines deliberately killed more than a dozen innocent Iraqi civilians. But in treating Murtha as some kind of authoritative figure making “new allegations,” NBC ignored how the fairly well established as accurate charge (pictures exist of the immediate aftermath and three Marine officers were relieved of their commands) is old and has already been widely-reported -- including on the March 20 NBC Nightly News.
Brian Williams touted: "There are disturbing new allegations tonight from the Congressman and decorated Marine veteran who stunned the Bush administration about six months ago with his call for U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.” Following a rundown from Jim Miklaszewski of the allegations, Williams trumpeted Murtha's credibility and relevance: “Jim, we should go over again, why is it significant that John Murtha is the one saying this?" Miklaszewski responded with Murtha's argument that the event bolsters his political point as to why the U.S. should leave Iraq, preceded by the misnomer that Murtha had “recently” turned against the war: “It's important because as somebody who recently turned against the war, Murtha held this up today as one of the reasons the U.S. military should get out of Iraq as soon as possible."
“A team of Naval investigators on its way to Iraq tonight where 12 US Marines are accused of killing 15 Iraqi civilians including seven women and three children in a vengeful rage after one of their fellow Marines was killed by a roadside bomb. The incident occurred last November in the town of Haditha. Marines had originally claimed that some of the civilians were killed with a subsequent firefight with insurgents when the insurgents used the civilians as human shields, but many Iraqis, including medical staff who examined the bodies, said it appeared all of the civilians were shot with some precision and at close range. The formal criminal investigation was opened after some of the Marines had changed their original stories, and at least one military official said if the revised accounts from some of those Marines is true, this could get very ugly.”
On the same night's CBS Evening News, Lara Logan filed a story on the incident and David Martin followed up on the Friday, April 28 CBS Evening News in a story he began: “Pentagon officials tell CBS News the evidence turned up so far shows American Marines deliberately shot Iraqi civilians, including women and children, and tried to cover it up.” CNN aired stories in April and early May. A quick search via Nexis located dozens of print articles published throughout April in major newspapers and the wire services.
...............Congressman John Murtha D-PA
Nonetheless, NBC apparently saw another chance to champion Murtha. (To mark the six month anniversary of Murtha's November 17 attack on Bush's Iraq policy, Chris Matthews made Murtha his lead guest on Wednesday's Hardball on MSNBC and gave him air time to attribute the November incident to excessive “pressure” felt by stressed Marines forced to serve in a misguided war.)
The November 17, 2005 NewsBusters item, “Nets Lead With Murtha, Highlight His Ridicule of Cheney's Lack of Military Service,” recounted how the networks embraced Murtha, including the way Brian Williams led the NBC Nightly News by promoting his supposedly unique newsworthiness:
"Good evening. When one Congressman out of 435 members of Congress speaks out against the war in Iraq, it normally wouldn't be news, but it was today because of who he is. Congressman John Murtha, a Vietnam veteran, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, is a 37-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, who voted for both gulf wars. Vice President Cheney once called him one of his strongest allies in Congress back when Cheney ran the Pentagon. Today, John Murtha said the U.S. must get out of Iraq. It's a debate that has followed President Bush halfway around the world. We begin tonight with NBC's David Gregory, who's traveling with the President in South Korea."
"There are disturbing new allegations tonight from the Congressman and decorated Marine veteran who stunned the Bush administration about six months ago with his call for U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. Tonight Congressman Jack Murtha, a Democrat from the state of Pennsylvania, is in the news again, and in a big way, accusing U.S. Marines of killing innocent civilians in cold blood. We're joined for more on this story tonight by our NBC News Pentagon correspondent Jim Miklaszewski. Jim, good evening."
Jim Miklaszewski: "Brian, this all stems from an incident that occurred last November, and today the military's investigation is still dragging on. From the very beginning, Iraqis in the town of Haditha claimed U.S. Marines deliberately killed at least 15 unarmed Iraqi civilians, including seven women and three children. This young Iraqi girl claims the Marines killed six members of her family, including her parents. 'The Americans came into the room where my father was praying,' she says, 'and shot him.' Today, in a remarkable statement in Washington, Democratic Congressman John Murtha claims it's true."
Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), in press conference: "There was no firefight. There was no IED that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood."
Miklaszewski: "Military officials today tell NBC News the Marine Corps' own evidence appears to show Murtha is right. The Marines first claimed the civilians were killed by the same IED that also killed a fellow Marine or were caught in a crossfire between the Americans and the enemy. But military officials say Marine Corps photos taken immediately after the incident show many of the victims were shot at close range in the head and chest, execution style. One photo shows a mother and young child bent over on the floor as if in prayer, shot dead. One military official familiar with the investigation says it appears the civilians were deliberately killed by the Marines who were outraged at the death of their fellow Marine. Three Marine officers, commanders in Haditha, have been relieved of duty. At least 12 Marines in all are under investigation for what would be the worst single incident involving the deliberate killing of civilians by U.S. military in Iraq. And because the investigation is still open, the Marine Corps said today it can't comment on the case, but one military official tells us this one is ugly. Brian?”
Williams: "And, Jim, we should go over again, why is it significant that John Murtha is the one saying this?"
Miklaszewski: "Well, as a former Marine, he's considered pretty close to the Corps still, and one of the Capitol Hill's ultimate military insiders. In fact, one of his aides said today Murtha got his information from military officials. And it's important because as somebody who recently turned against the war, Murtha held this up today as one of the reasons the U.S. military should get out of Iraq as soon as possible."
Criticizing the war was not new for Murtha in November of 2005. As the May 7, 2004 MRC CyberAlert noted, Ted Koppel featured Murtha's anti-war take as he “opened the May 6 Nightline, over video of bomb-damaged trucks and Humvees and a wounded U.S. soldier: 'No one ever said it would be easy, but few predicted it would be like this. Today, the most hawkish Democrat on the Hill said this: [Murtha]: 'We can not prevail in this war at the policy that’s going today.'"
This has gone way past objecting to Policy in the Bush Administration. This has gone to flat out bashing our troops and convicting them before any guilty or innocent verdict! And for that I think Congressman Murtha has lost his mind. What in the hell is wrong with this man? He is a former Marine!! He knows exactly how much this would hurt the Military Morale, and if he thinks this is "A Good Way To Get The Troops Home" He is nuts! I used to respect him, and his opinions. but I cant anymore. If those Marines are Guilty, they will be punished like everyone else this may happen to in wartime, but if they are innocent Murtha Owes the Marines an Apology! Was Murtha there in Iraq? NO! How does Murtha know what all happened back in November of last year? Why convict these Marines in advance of any verdict, on National TV no less? Nothing makes me more mad than undermining the troops. And evidently Murtha and some others on the left are out to do just that. I dont care how many medals you have Murtha, undermining Troop Morale in Wartime is a Capitol Offense and I am beginning to think you need to be tried for TREASON!!
Libya Comes Off Terror Watch List
Bush: "Follow Libya's Lead"
After winning concessions from Libya, President Bush urged other nations to recognize that the pursuit of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons brings not influence or prestige, but "isolation and otherwise unwelcome consequences."
Mr. Bush's remarks alluded to the Iraq war that toppled Saddam Hussein over his alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction, and were apparently aimed at North Korea and Iran, still suspected of seeking and developing banned weapons.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Mr. Bush, in back-to-back appearances late Friday in Britain and at the White House, announced that Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi had agreed, after nine months of secret talks, to halt his nation's drive for such weapons and the long-range missiles to deliver them.
The series of negotiations and on-site inspections by U.S. and British experts were initiated by the long-reviled Gadhafi in March, shortly after he agreed to a settlement in the 1988 bombing of a Pan Am jetliner over Lockerbie, Scotland.
The result, Mr. Bush and Blair said, was that Libya agreed to disclose all its weapons of mass destruction and related programs and to open the North African country to international weapons inspectors to oversee their elimination.
Libya's most significant acknowledgment was that it had a program intended to enrich uranium for use in nuclear weapons, a senior Bush administration official said.
Libya's nuclear effort was more advanced than previously thought, said the official, who briefed reporters at the White House on condition of anonymity. U.S. and British experts inspected components of a centrifuge program to enrich the uranium, but did not see a fully operational system, the official said.
Teams of American and British experts went to Libya in October and December, the official said. The Libyan news agency Jana Tripoli quoted Foreign Minister Abdel-Rahman Shalqam as saying Libyan experts had shown their U.S. and British counterparts "the substances, equipment and programs that could lead to production of internationally banned weapons."
The experts visited 10 sites related to Libya's nuclear program, the official said.
In London, CBS News Correspondent Mark Phillips reports a high-ranking government official said Gaddafi was close to developing such weapons.
The American and British team also was shown a significant amount of mustard agent, a World War I-era chemical weapon. Libya made the material more than a decade ago, and had bombs that could be filled with the substance for use in combat, the U.S. official said.
Libya also acknowledged having chemicals that could be used to make nerve agent. The official said there was little evidence of a biological warfare program.
Libyan officials further acknowledged contacts with North Korea, a supplier of long-range ballistic missiles, and provided the U.S.-British team access to missile research and development facilities.
However, the official said several "remaining uncertainties" about Libya's programs exist even after all the disclosures.
"The announcement by Lybia to allow international weapons inspectors and to abandon its weapons of mass destruction programs clearly reflects the chilling impact of the arrest of Saddam Hussein, the invasion of Iraq and Libya's longstanding interest in having U.S. and U.N. sanctions removed," said CBS News Foreign Affairs Analyst Pamela Falk.
"The payment of compensation to the U.S. victims of the Pan Am Lockerbie was just a part of the overall negotiations of Col. Gadhafi to rejoin the West," Falk continued.
Mr. Bush said the United States and Britain, wary of Libyan promises, would watch closely to make sure Gadhafi keeps his word. And he said Libya's promises on weapons aren't enough; it must "fully engage in the war against terror" as well.
If Libya "takes these essential steps and demonstrates its seriousness," Mr. Bush held out the promise of helping it build "a more free and prosperous country." Neither he nor aides provided specifics.
Gadhafi's moves were "statesmanlike and courageous," British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw told British Broadcasting Corp. radio on Saturday.
Britain restored diplomatic relations with Libya in 1999 after a 15-year hiatus and has been involved in negotiations to end the country's international isolation. The United States, which retained its 17-year embargo, has Libya on its list of nations that sponsor terrorism.
"The United States is looking forward to an entirely new approach and relationship with Libya," Straw said. On sanctions, he said: "I would expect them to be lifted. I can't say exactly when."
The U.N. Security Council ended sanctions against Libya on Sept. 12 after Gadhafi's government took responsibility for the Pan Am bombing and agreed to pay $2.7 billion to the victims' families.
But the United States has kept its own 17-year embargo in place and has kept Libya on the list of nations that sponsor terrorism.
"As we have found with other nations, old hostilities do not need to go on forever," Mr. Bush said. "Libya can regain a secure and respected place among the nations and, over time, achieve far better relations with the United States."
In a statement carried by the Libyan news agency, Gadhafi called his move a "wise decision and a brave step that merit support from the Libyan people."
Senior U.S. officials said the Pan Am 103 families were briefed before Mr. Bush's announcement. But Susan Cohen of Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey, whose daughter was among the 270 people killed in the bombing said Gadhafi cannot be counted on to keep his promise.
"How can we trust somebody who has blown up a plane?" she said.
It was the second foreign policy victory for Mr. Bush in a week, after last weekend's capture of Saddam. He said his action against the Iraqi leader, as well as U.S. efforts to rein in weapons pursuits by North Korea and Iran, "have sent an unmistakable message to regimes that seek or possess weapons of mass destruction" and played a role in Gadhafi's decision.
The president sought to nudge other regimes with both the threat of "unwelcome consequences," if weapons pursuits are not abandoned, and the offer - if they are - of "an open path to better relations with the United States and other free nations."
"I hope that other leaders will find an example in Libya's announcement today," Mr. Bush said. "When leaders make the wise and responsible choice ... they serve the interest of their own people and they add to the security of all nations."
The move represents a shift for a nation long regarded as an outlaw.
While Libya is credited with moderating its behavior in recent years, Gadhafi has been depicted as an erratic, untrustworthy ruler. In 1986, President Reagan sent American warplanes to bomb the Libyan cities of Tripoli and Benghazi in retaliation for the bombing of a Berlin disco where a U.S. serviceman was killed.
The bombs struck Gadhafi's barracks and killed his young, adopted daughter and wounded two of his sons. Gadhafi, sleeping in a tent outside the compound, escaped injury.
Somehow I just cant picture this guy and his band of Female bodyguards visiting the White House. Helping in the War on Terror is great, disarming was wonderful, but I dont feel real comfortable with the idea that he blew up Pan Am flight 103 killing almost 300 people, and a disco that killed 2 American Soldiers. All the money in the world wont bring those people back. He should still be watched. Given a little slack maybe, but watched constantly.
Dont Let 'Moderate' Hillary Fool You
Human Events Online Is Reporting:
Don't Let 'Moderate' Hillary Fool You
by Kathleen Willey, Candice E. Jackson, and Juanita Broaddrick
Posted May 11, 2006
Hillary Clinton weighed in on the immigration reform debate recently by accusing the House Republicans of passing a bill that would “criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.” Hillary also opined that the House bill “flew in the face” of Republicans’ stated support for faith and values.
Hillary eagerly pounces on her political opponents’ supposed betrayal of their values, but what about her values? Far from walking in the footsteps of the Good Samaritan or “Jesus himself,” Hillary has consistently revealed a personal and political character the core values of which are ruthlessness, unbounding arrogance and endless ambition.
One of us had the surreal experience of being confronted by Hillary -- self-declared feminist and champion of “women’s rights” -- as she protected her husband Bill against the charge of rape. Another of us worked with the Clintons prior to being sexually assaulted by Bill Clinton, and witnessed her dismissive, contemptuous interactions with others whenever the cameras weren’t present. Our experience of Hillary Clinton as ruthless and vindictive is validated in a newly released book, “I’ve Always Been a Yankees Fan: Hillary Clinton in Her Own Words,” by Tom Kuiper.
“I’ve Always Been a Yankees Fan” is a collection of quotes -- hundreds of them -- by and about Hillary Clinton, spanning her entire life and career, complete with pictures, captions and humorous but spot-on commentary. The quotes show a crass, insensitive side of Hillary, and in the foreword Dick Morris writes of this “wonderful little book” that “No politician could possibly amass quotes like this and expect to run for office. Nobody would dare.” Hillary Clinton, however, possesses an extraordinary level of arrogance (even for a politician), and expects to claw her way back to the White House despite being called out for her despicable attitudes and statements.
Our perception of Hillary, one shared by Tom Kuiper and Dick Morris, stands in stark contrast to the one touted by feminist legal scholar and author Susan Estrich. In her recent book, Estrich opines that Hillary can and should be elected the first female president. Estrich writes, “I think that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, soon-to-be second-term senator from New York, centrist Democrat, strong on security, tough, moderate, family values, middle-aged, qualified, managed by Bill Clinton, is the next president of the United States.” Moderate? Family values? Kuiper’s new book goes a long way toward discrediting the version of Hillary Clinton that permitted her to launch her own political career, and on which she hopes to ascend to the presidency in 2008.
For example, Kuiper quotes multi-millionaire Hillary opining that “The unfettered free market has been the most radically disruptive force in American life in the last generation.” It is difficult to discern any moderation in that statement. Or in this response by Hillary to a constituent who expressed concern over being forced into a government-run health-care plan: “It’s time to put the common good, the national interest, ahead of individuals.” Or in this explanation to wealthy donors regarding her support for repealing the Bush tax cuts: “Many of you are well enough off that [the] tax cuts may have helped you. We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
How about Hillary’s supposed support for family values, which should include justice for abused women and children? “I’ve Always Been a Yankees Fan” presents Hillary publicly announcing, “I am proud that my husband has stood up as president to confront the violence and to protect American women.” But Kuiper also accurately recounts how Hillary privately revealed a complete lack of concern for “protecting women against violence” when she asked to meet Juanita Broaddrick just weeks after Juanita had been raped by Bill Clinton. Hillary was willing to do whatever it took to prevent Juanita from holding her husband accountable for an unspeakable act of violence.
Kuiper also quotes Hillary Clinton as saying of the many women who have reported having sexual encounters with Bill Clinton (forced or otherwise): “These women are all trash. Nobody’s going to believe them.” This is hardly how “Jesus himself” would respond to women reporting what often amounted to sexual mistreatment, and we doubt that He would “crucify” Gennifer Flowers for daring to disclose her affair with Hillary’s husband -- even though Bill Clinton himself eventually admitted under oath to having the affair with Flowers. Hillary professes to be “a voice for America’s children,” yet at an event with preschoolers at the governor’s mansion as first lady of Arkansas Mother Clinton was overheard on the intercom system saying, “I want to get this s--- over with and get these damn people out of here.” Hillary has not demonstrated a consistent track record of treating women and children -- at least children not her own -- with care and concern. She was certainly quick enough to demand that taxpayers fund a pool for the governor’s mansion while first “lady” of Arkansas.
Hillary invariably relies on the maxim “the best defense is a good offense” to deflect attention from her own wrongdoing. She refuses to address or apologize for the statements -- many of them vulgar and outrageous -- that Tom Kuiper has painstakingly assembled, but she audaciously continues to malign others for supposedly failing to act on “faith” and “values.” Based on our personal experiences with Hillary Clinton, we encourage others to explore the true nature of this woman through Kuiper’s entertaining but revealing book before throwing political support to Hillary on the misguided impression that she is the moderate, family-values candidate she wants you to think she is.
Mrs. Willey is a Virginia businesswoman and former White House volunteer who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Clinton in 1993.
Ms. Jackson is an attorney, rape survivor, and author of "Their Lives: The Women Targeted by the Clinton Machine."
Ms. Broaddrick is an Arkansas businesswoman and former "Clinton for Governor" supporter who was allegedly raped by Bill Clinton in 1978.
5 People Will Testify Under Oath In Libby Trial That Joe Wilson Outed Own Wife
National Review Online Is Reporting:
This afternoon CNN reported the news, published earlier in The Corner, that Lewis Libby's defense lawyers say they will produce five witnesses who will testify under oath that former ambassador Joseph Wilson told them that his wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, worked for the CIA, a job status that, allegedly, was classified. CNN also reported a response from Joseph Wilson:
.......................Valerie Plame
BLITZER: And John, producer, Stephanie Katube (sp), just got a statement from Ambassador Joe Wilson. Let me read it to you and to our viewers. "The last I heard," Wilson says, "this is case is about allegations Mr. Libby lied, perjured himself before the FBI, special prosecutor and grand jury and obstructed justice. None of those charges of which he's been indicted has anything to do with me."
Wilson goes on to say, "Furthermore, the government in the person of the special prosecutor in his court filings has made it clear it believes several White House officials were engaged in a campaign to, quote, `discredit, punish and seek revenge' on me. It would appear that campaign is ongoing."
....................Joe Wilson
What seems notable about Wilson's statement, if CNN read it in full, is that it does not address the issue of whether or not he told people that his wife worked for the CIA.
...................."Scooter" Libby
Live Journal Is Reporting:
May 5, 2006 — - I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby's lawyers plan to call on White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove as a witness in his trial for allegedly lying to a federal grand jury and investigators over the CIA leak case.
The defense revealed today it will also focus on testimony from former State Department official Marc Grossman and Joseph Wilson, husband of undercover CIA officer Valerie Plame.
Libby, the former aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, was charged in October 2005 over statements about how he learned about Plame's CIA connections. Plame was identified by columnist Robert Novak in July 2003, and U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald was appointed as a special prosecutor to investigate the matter later that year.
At a hearing today, Libby's lawyer Ted Wells said five witnesses would testify that Wilson revealed Plame's status before Novak did. U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton fired back at Wells saying, "I don't know how it has any bearing on whether your client allegedly testified falsely."
The defense team also asked that the government produce any documents and e-mails they have in their possession relating to the ongoing investigation.
The hearing offered no clues on Fitzgerald's investigation into Rove's statements made before the grand jury last week or whether Fitzgerald will bring charges against Rove.
Wells asked that materials relating to Rove be provided to the defense, asserting that the prosecution is required to do so even if no charges have been brought against Rove. Fitzgerald denied he was withholding evidence.
So it seems what I heard/read long ago was true. Joe Wilson "Outed" his own wife. Joe Wilson was running around town telling just about anyone that would listen that his wife worked for the CIA, (Her job status was aledgedly classified). He even told General Paul Vallely in the "Green Room" of Fox News that his wife worked for the CIA. WHICH SURE AS HECK MEANT SHE WASNT COVERT/UNDERCOVER DUH. It will be interesting to see if Vallely is going to be one of the witnesses. If these 5 people come forward and testify under oath that Joe Wilson told them his wife worked for the CIA, this case is about over. They could try perjury charges but if Libby didnt lie, he didnt perjur himself! And they can call Carl Rove to the stand all day long, but it isnt going to change the fact that Wilson "Outed" his own wife. I believe this whole indictment, charges, trial, etc..were concocted purposely by the left (Among alot of other things) to try and make the Bush administration look corrupt. They have been trying to get people to believe that for a long time now. And alot of these trumped up charges on alot of other innocent Republicans (Not all, but some, there are no complete innocents in either party) are going to start unraveling in your faces. I say if they are guilty they need to pay. But if they arent, you on the left should have the decency and burden of giving back that person's good name by the same way you besmirched it. And if this has been ANOTHER waste of Liberal spending for this kind of crud at taxpayers expense once again, you are going to have some pretty pissed off Republicans!!
Iraqi Security Forces Approach Milestone
By Jim Garamone
American Forces Press Service
BAHGDAD, Iraq, - Iraqi army forces are
becoming much more capable and are increasingly taking the lead in
counterinsurgency operations, coalition officials said here
today at a news conference.
About 253,000 members of the Iraqi security forces are
trained and equipped, Army Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, deputy chief
of staff for strategic effects for Multinational force Iraq,
said. Two divisions, 16 brigades and 58 battalions make up
the Iraqi army.
Iraqi officials yesterday inaugurated a new system that
will allow commanders to exercise operational control of these
forces nationwide. Lynch said the million-dollar Joint
Operations Center that Iraqi Ground Forces Command uses at Camp
Victory gives Iraqi commanders situational awareness. Up to
now, Iraqi commanders had administrative control of the
forces. This new capability will allow the Iraqis to assess
threats, direct troops and assess intelligence.
Lynch said that Iraqi forces or Iraqi forces in conjunction
with coalition troops conduct almost 70 percent of all
operations in Iraq. "Only 30 percent of operations are
coalition-force independent operations," he said.
He cited Iraqi operations in the northern city of Mosul as
an example of the increasing Iraqi effort. About 1,500
Iraqi soldiers and police are in Mosul to stabilize the area
and provide security for residents. The only coalition-force
involvement is to provide an outer perimeter. An
interesting point in the operation is that Ninewah province police
allowed local media to accompany troops, observe them and
report on the operation.
Lynch said that by the end of the year, the Iraqi security
forces will be at full strength.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Those on the left would have us believe otherwise. There is NO Civil War, Iraqi and Coalition Troops are working side by side, and the Country has NOT gone to hell!!
But dont tell those on the left, the sky has fallen as far as they are concerned.

Just Go Away Moron

Breitbart Is Reporting:
Moussaoui asks for new trial

Less than a week after he was jailed for life over the September 11 attacks, Al-Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui submitted a motion asking to withdraw his guilty plea so he can have a new trial.

"Moussaoui wishes to withdraw his guilty plea because when he entered the plea his 'understanding of the American legal system was completely flawed'," his lawyers said in the motion.

Moussaoui said in an affadavit "I now see that it is possible that I can receive a fair trial" in the United States.

"Even with Americans as jurors," he went on, "I can have the opportunity to prove that I did not have any knowledge of and was not a member of the plot to hijack planes and crash them into buildings on September 11, 2001."

"I wish to withdraw my guilty plea and ask the court for a new trial to prove my innocence of the September 11 plot," he said.

A jury rejected prosecutors calls for a death penalty last Wednesday and called for the 37-year-old Frenchman to be jailed for life without chance of parole after he admitted six charges of conspiracy over the September 11 attacks.

Moussaoui decided on Friday, while waiting to be transferred to a super-maximum security prison in Colorado, that he wanted to change his plea, his lawyers said in documents submitted to a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, where his trial was held.

Patrick Kennedy Involved In Suspicious Car Accident

Fox News Is Reporting:
Kennedy: 'I was disoriented from the medication'

WASHINGTON — Rep. Patrick Kennedy crashed his car near the Capitol early Thursday, and a police official said he appeared intoxicated. Kennedy said he had taken sleep medication and a prescription anti-nausea drug that can cause drowsiness.

Kennedy, D-R.I., addressed the issue after a spate of news reports. His initial statement said, "I consumed no alcohol prior to the incident."

Later, however, he issued a longer statement saying the attending physician for Congress had prescribed Phenergan on Tuesday to treat Kennedy's gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines.

Kennedy said he returned to his Capitol Hill home on Wednesday evening after a final series of votes in Congress and took "prescribed" amounts of Phenergan and Ambien, another prescribed drug that he occasionally takes to fall asleep.

"Some time around 2:45 a.m., I drove the few blocks to the Capitol Complex believing I needed to vote," his second statement said. "Apparently, I was disoriented from the medication."

In the later statement, he repeated, "At no time before the incident did I consume any alcohol."

Kennedy appeared to be intoxicated when he crashed his Ford Mustang into a barrier on Capitol Hill early Thursday morning, said Louis P. Cannon, president of the Washington chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Cannon, who was not there, said the officers involved in the accident were instructed by an official "above the rank of patrolman" to take Kennedy home.

No sobriety tests were conducted at the scene.

A letter written by a Capitol Police officer to Acting Chief Christopher McGaffin said Kennedy appeared to be staggering when he left the vehicle after the crash about 3 a.m. The letter was first reported by Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper.

Kennedy said he was late for a vote, officer Greg Baird said in the letter to McGaffin. Baird is acting chairman of the Capitol Hill chapter of the FOP police union. The last vote of the night had occurred almost six hours earlier.

Kennedy said he was driven home by Capitol police.

"At no time did I ask for any special consideration," he said. "I simply complied with what the officers asked me to do."

Kennedy, the son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and his staff declined to discuss any further details of the accident. The congressman took part in House votes Thursday.

Capitol Police did not immediately return phone calls for comment. They issued a one-line statement saying they were investigating a traffic violation that occurred early in the morning at that location.

Baird wrote McGaffin that two sergeants who responded to the accident conferred with the watch commander and were ordered to leave the scene.

He said that after the officers left, Capitol Police officials gave Kennedy a ride home.

Kennedy spent time at a drug rehabilitation clinic before he went to Providence College. He has been open about mental health issues, including being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Let me just say that I have taken Phenergan and Ambien at one time or another NEVER TOGETHER, and Phenergan alone is enough to knock you out. I cant imagine the combination. Ambien works so fast (That's why the directions tell you take it when you can devote AT LEAST 8 hours to sleep) that it would have been impossible for Kennedy to have gotten up to do ANYTHING, let alone DRIVE somewhere. I'm not buying this story one bit. Say Kennedy DID get up and go drive back to work after taking a combination of drugs like that, he wouldnt be staggering for one thing, neither drug makes you stagger, sleepy yes, stagger NO. But if he had taken those drugs, and he told the Capitol Police that, shouldnt they have called an Ambulance and taken him to a hospital thinking he may have had "A Reaction" to the medication? And since when did the Capitol Police become a Taxi Cab Service? I read another article that said one of the first Capitol Police officers on the scene "Smelled Alcohol". Why was there no Sobriety test taken at the scene? And why were the first officers on the scene ORDERED to leave? Nope, that boy was DRUNK AS A SKUNK. Can we say "LIKE FATHER LIKE SON"? They better check around the Barrier where he crashed for a body! But by now Teddy has already covered those tracks I'm sure. This incident warrants a full investigation, but Teddy I'm sure will find a way to cover this up just like Chappaquiddick.

Kennedy And Reid Hold Up Bill- "The ChildHelp National Registry Act"

Bill Oreilly's Talking Points Memo:
Why is Senator Kennedy blocking a bill that would protect American kids?

The proposed law is called "The ChildHelp National Registry Act," and it would mandate that federal authorities keep a database of convicted child predators and child abusers.
Of course, that would help local authorities, who could tap into the computerized information and instantly know who is in the neighborhood. Right now, child predators can roam from state to state, and the cops are blind to their backgrounds.

So... does anyone oppose that proposed law? Anyone? Only fools and people who don't care about kids would object to the national database.

But in the Senate, a vote on the bill is being held up by Ted Kennedy

and Harry Reid, the Minority Leader in the Senate. Mr. Reid says that Kennedy was promised a vote on a new "hate crimes" bill, and that's why the child protection bill is not going to the floor for a vote. Apparently, Senator Kennedy wants to attach some kind of hate crime legislation to the ChildHelp bill.

With all due respect to Kennedy and Reid... this is politics at its worst. There is no need to burden the ChildHelp bill with any other piece of legislation. The child bill should stand alone. If the hate crimes bill is a good law, that should stand alone as well.

Here's a no spin message to Senators Reid and Kennedy. Every day that you guys dither around, thousands of children get hurt in America. Every day that local law enforcement does not have the information it should have, predators are more free to rape and kill.

Sometimes the people-the folks-have to send a message to Washington, and this is one of those times. We are posting information on BillOReilly.com so you can get a message to Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid. If they put the bill to a vote, it will pass; if they continue to hold it up, more kids will get hurt.

Simple.

Finally, Talking Points doesn't think Kennedy and Reid are bad men, but they are playing politics with the safety of children, and I hope you'll tell them that is unacceptable. And that's the Memo.

So if it's in Kennedy's back yard (Windmill Farms) NO, and unless it's Ted Kennedy's kids I guess it's a NO also. But then again Kennedy doesnt care about anything but keeping his own ass out of jail!

MAJOR Al-Qaeda Leader Arrested In Pakistan

Foxnews Reporting:
KABUL, Afghanistan — A top Al Qaeda leader whose links stretch from Usama bin Laden's training camps to extremist networks in Europe has been captured in Pakistan, a U.S. law enforcement official confirms for the first time.

Pakistani officials also tell The Associated Press that Mustafa Setmarian Nasar, a dual Syrian-Spanish national with a $5 million U.S. bounty on his head, has been flown out of the country to an unspecified location.

Nasar was captured in a November sting in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta that left one person dead, the American official said on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. The official spoke to the AP late last week.

U.S. military officials aware of the detention of terror suspects at American prison facilities in Bagram, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, had no immediate information Tuesday on whether Nasar had been incarcerated at either jail.

A senior Pakistani intelligence official told the AP from the capital, Islamabad, that Nasar was flown out of Pakistan to an undisclosed destination "some time ago."

"I only know that he is not here. But, I do know that Syrian authorities had also requested to get him back," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of his work.

Just A Bit Of Humor

I Recieved this is an e-mail and had to share:

This is a hoot!

While trying to escape through Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden found a Bottle on a beach and picked it up.

Suddenly, a female genie rose from the bottle and with a smile said "Master, may I grant you one wish?"

"You ignorant unworthy daughter-of-a-dog! Don't you know who I am? I don't need any common woman giving me anything" barked Bin Laden.

The shocked genie said "Please, I must grant you a wish or I will be returned to that bottle forever."

Osama thought a moment. Then grumbled about the impertinence of the woman, and said "Very well, I want to awaken with three American women in my bed in the morning, so just do it and be off with you!"

The annoyed genie said, "So be it !" and disappeared.

The next morning Bin Laden woke up in bed with Lorena Bobbitt, Tonya Harding and Hillary Clinton.

His penis was gone, his knees were broken, and he had no health insurance. God is good.

Boycott Gringo Day

Forbes.com:
Hundreds of union members rallied Monday to support Mexican migrants working in the United States and call for a boycott of U.S. goods in what was dubbed "A Day Without Gringos."

The boycott call by unions came as Mexico celebrated May Day, a holiday dedicated to workers and when business is a fraction of the normal.

Immigration rallies also are planned across the United States, where immigrants are being urged to boycott work, school and shopping as part of the "Day Without Immigrants."

At least a half-dozen state governors in Mexico endorsed the boycott of McDonald's, Wal-Mart and hundreds of other U.S. companies here. Measuring the impact of the actions was likely to prove difficult.

Marina Serna, deputy manager for Burger King in downtown Mexico City, said she believed it had an effect. The restaurant had only one client during the first 90 minutes it was open, even though it is owned by Mexicans.

"I'd say that this is bad because even if we work in a company with an international brand, the owners are not from the United States, they are Mexicans," Serna said.

Mexico's restive union movement - which traditionally holds rallies on May 1 - dedicated this year's march to the legalization of undocumented workers in the United States.
