JOHN GLENN SAID

Things that make you think a little:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the
month of January. That's just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq .

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't
have started this war, state the following:

a. FDR led us into World War II.

b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 112,500 per year.

c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea .
North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 18,334 per year.

d John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.

e. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost ..
an average of 5,800 per year.

f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three
times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on
multiple occasions.

g. In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush
has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled
al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya , Iran , and, North
Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining
about how long the war is taking.
But
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno
to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida !!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB!
The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant
to realize the facts.

What Is Wrong With These People?

Newsmax:
ACLU: Don't Bar Terrorist Sympathizers

The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to strike down a provision of the Patriot Act that prevents foreigners who endorse terrorism from entering the U.S.

The suit was filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan on behalf of a prominent Muslim scholar, Tariq Ramadan, and three national organizations of academics or writers who have invited him to speak to their members.

Ramadan, a Swiss citizen, has been denied a United States visa since July 2004, when he was about to move with his family to Indiana to take up a tenured professor's position at the University of Notre Dame, the New York Times reports.

At the time, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, Russ Knocke, cited the Patriot Act clause as the reason Ramadan's visa was canceled.

The provision bans foreigners who "endorse or espouse terrorist activity or persuade others" to support terrorism.
The ACLU suit seeks a declaration that the Patriot Act provision at issue is unconstitutional. It also seeks a court order preventing the government from relying on the provision to exclude Ramadan or any other foreign national.

Ramadan, the author of some 20 books on Islamic theology, filed a new visa application on September 16 after receiving invitations for speaking engagements in the U.S. When interviewed in December in Switzerland by agents of the Homeland Security and State Departments, Ramadan said, he was questioned about his views of the war in Iraq.

"I told them what I have said many times publicly, that I think the war was a mistake and illegal," he told the Times. "I think the resistance is legitimate but the means they are using are not."

Ramadan is the grandson of Hasan al-Banna, a founder in 1928 of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Egyptian group that has carried out violent attacks in recent decades.

He claims "there is nothing in my record supporting terrorism.”

But some critics say he espouses moderate views in Europe while embracing more militant views when addressing Muslims in the Arab world, according to the Times.
Homeland Security’s Knocke declined to comment on the lawsuit, but noted that the criteria for revoking visas included "public safety and national security risks.”

What's Going On Here Joe?

Joe Lieberman: U.S. Prepared for Iran Strike
Newsmax:

Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday that the U.S. is prepared to deal with the Iranian nuclear crisis militarily - even if the war in Iraq continues to require a substantial American troop commitment.

"We have the most powerful military in the history of the world," Lieberman told CBS's "Face the Nation."

Joe Lieberman (D) Conn.

"We are capable, if necessary, of continuing to pursue our aims militarily in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere and, if necessary, conduct a military attack on Iran."

Lieberman said the he hoped an attack on Iran, if it should come, would be carried out "with the assistance of our coalition allies in Europe." But he noted that any assault on Iranian nuclear facilities "would be primarily an air attack. It's not going to involve massive use of ground forces."

Asked about reports that the U.S. would let Israel take the lead in any attack against Iran, the Connecticut Democrat told CBS:

"The United States is a strong enough country that we never want to be in a position to have to essentially contract out protection of our national security, vis-a-vis Iran, to another country like Israel."

He noted also the Israelis "don't have the same aircraft capacity that we do, capable of doing it."

Lieberman said that while the military option remains a last resort for the U.S., "I want the people who lead Iran to understand that it is on the table. We deem their pursuit of nuclear weapons to be dead serious."

Joe Lieberman is one of the extreme few Democrats I actually like.

Conservatives Take Canada, Trend Forming?

Conservatives win minority; Martin to step down as leader
By TERRY WEBER

Tuesday, January 24, 2006 Posted at 1:56 AM EST

Globe and Mail Update

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper was headed to Parliament Hill as Canada's next prime minister after capturing a fragile minority victory in Monday's election, picking up votes in Quebec and making inroads in Ontario but failing to scale the heights early polls had predicted.

"Tonight, friends, Canadians have voted for change," Mr. Harper said, speaking to supporters in Calgary.

"And Canadians have asked our party to take the lead in delivering that change. I tell Canadians we will respect your trust and we will stick to our words."

Mr. Harper's comments capped a night in which the Liberal's 12-year reign came to an end in a vote that handed the Conservatives a minority mandate but also held that power in check with a solid endorsement of opposition parties as well.

Shortly after midnight, Liberal Leader Paul Martin conceded defeat, telling supporters he had called his opponent to offer his congratulations and said he wouldn't lead the party in the next election.

"I will continue to represent with pride the people of LaSalle-Émard but I will not take our party in to another election as leader," he said.

"In the coming days, I will consult with the party leadership as to how best to ensure an orderly transition and an effective leadership in the House of Commons and the party."

By late in the night, the Conservatives had won 124 seats, to the Liberals' 103. The Bloc Québécois were elected in 51 ridings and the NDP in 29.

The Conservatives' gains came on the back of a swell in support in central Canada for the party, but the Liberals still managed to cling to seats in some key regions helping limit the Tories' overall advance.

By the end of the night, the Conservatives had managed roughly 36 per cent of the popular vote nationally compared with 30 per cent for the Liberals, 17 per cent points for the NDP and 10 per cent for the Bloc Québécois.

In Quebec, the Conservatives increased their share of the popular vote more than 17 percentage points, managing to win the parties first federal seat in that province in five years.

The Liberals' popular vote was down 14 percentage points. The shift also saw the Bloc's share of the popular vote slip 7 percentage points.

Similarly, in Ontario the Liberals' chunk of the popular vote was down 5 percentage points. In that province, the Liberals were elected in 55 seats — down from 74 in the last sitting — compared with the Conservatives' 39.

Mr. Harper — who was re-elected in the Alberta riding of Calgary Southwest — becomes this country's 22nd Prime Minister.

Speaking to supporters in Montreal, Mr. Martin thanked his supporters, not just for their help in the current campaign but for those in years past. He also paid tribute to his colleagues in his cabinet and caucus, praising their efforts and their role in creating a stronger nation.

"For many of our colleagues, it was not easy this evening," Mr. Martin said.

"But there will be another time."

With the likelihood of a minority looming, attention quickly turned to where the balance of power would lie.

The NDP, which ended the last sitting with 18 seats in the House of Commons, saw its fortunes rise dramatically, putting it in the position of king-maker in what could prove to be a fractious parliament. The party improved on its share of popular vote and managed double digit gains in terms of its seat count -- to 29 from 18.

Throughout much of the latter part of the 56-day campaign, polls had suggested the likelihood of a Conservative government, ending the Liberals' 12-year reign. At one point it even looked possible that Mr. Harper's Tories might even muster a majority, although polls closer to Monday night's vote suggested that was unlikely.

Mr. Martin was re-elected in the Quebec riding of LaSalle-Émard. The NDP's Jack Layton and the Bloc's Gilles Duceppe also retained their seats.

"Our Canada puts ordinary Canadians first and tonight ordinary Canadians in the millions put their trust in the NDP and took a step forward," Mr. Layton told an audience in Toronto.

"We won't let you down."

RNC Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of Inauguration

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. Nearly 1.3-million photographs taken during former President Reagan's eight years in
the White House were released Friday for public viewing at his Simi Valley library.

The release on the 25th anniversary of Reagan's inauguration as

As library director Duke Blackwood sees it, "The sheer number
is amazing. It's a great opportunity for America to get a closer
glimpse at what goes on as president of the United States."

In Washington Friday, the Republican National Committee
celebrated the 25th anniversary of Reagan's inauguration by
releasing a special tribute documentary.

The documentary features appearances by former officials of the

Al Gore Is At It Again

Attorney General Says Al Gore's Criticism of Domestic Surveillance Inconsistent With Clinton Policy

Former Vice President Al Gore gestures

while addressing the American Constitution Society on the threat to the Constitution from President Bush's domestic wiretap policy, Monday, Jan. 16, 2006 at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washigton. Gore asserted Monday that President Bush "repeatedly and persistently" broke the law by eavesdropping on Americans without a court warrant.

WASHINGTON -- Former Vice President Al Gore called Monday for an independent investigation of President Bush's domestic spying program, contending the president "repeatedly and insistently" broke the law by eavesdropping on Americans without court approval.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales defended the administration's actions and said Gore's criticism is inconsistent with Clinton administration policy.

On CNN's "Larry King Live," Gonzales said, "it's my understanding that during the Clinton administration there was activity regarding physical searches without warrants."

Gonzales said he sees no need for a special counsel to investigate the National Security Administration surveillance operation because, "what I can tell you is that from the very beginning, from its inception this program has been carefully reviewed by the lawyers at the Department of Justice and other lawyers within the administration and we firmly believe that the president does have the legal authority" to gather intelligence in a time of war.

Speaking on Martin Luther King Jr.'s national holiday, Gore was interrupted repeatedly by applause as he called the anti-terrorism program "a threat to the very structure of our government."

The former vice president said Gonzales should name a special counsel to investigate the program, citing the attorney general's "obvious conflict of interest" as a member of the Bush Cabinet as well as the nation's top law enforcement officer.

The man who lost the 2000 presidential election to Bush charged that the administration acted without congressional authority and made a "direct assault" on a special federal court that authorizes requests to eavesdrop on Americans. One judge on the court resigned last month, voicing concerns about the National Security Agency's surveillance of e-mails and phone calls.

A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, Tracey Schmitt, attacked Gore's comments shortly after his address.

"Al Gore's incessant need to insert himself in the headline of the day is almost as glaring as his lack of understanding of the threats facing America," Schmitt said. "While the president works to protect Americans from terrorists, Democrats deliver no solutions of their own, only diatribes laden with inaccuracies and anger. "

Gore's speech was sponsored by the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy and The Liberty Coalition, two organizations that have expressed concern about the policy.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that two other organizations -- the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights -- planned to file lawsuits against the Bush administration alleging the NSA program illegally monitored defense lawyers, journalists and scholars with ties to the Middle East.

The ACLU will file it's suit in federal court in Detroit and the Center for Constitutional Rights plans to file in New York.

Gonzales has agreed to testify publicly at a Senate hearing on the program. He defended the surveillance on cable new talk shows Monday night.

"This program has been reviewed carefully by lawyers at the Department of Justice and other agencies," Gonzales said on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes." "We firmly believe that this program is perfectly lawful. The president has the legal authority to authorize these kinds of programs."

Gore, speaking at DAR Constitution Hall, said his concerns are especially important on the King holiday because the slain civil rights leader was among thousands of Americans whose private communications were intercepted by the U.S. government.

King, as a foremost civil rights activist in the 1950s and '60s, had his telephone conversations wiretapped by the FBI, which kept a file on him and thousands of other civil rights and anti-Vietnam war activists.

Gore said there is still much to learn about the domestic surveillance program, but he already has drawn a conclusion about its legality.

"What we do know about this pervasive wiretapping virtually compels the conclusion that the president of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and insistently," the Democrat maintained.

Bush has pointed to a congressional resolution passed after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, that authorized him to use force in the fight against terrorism as allowing him to order the program.

Gore had a different view, contending that Bush failed to convince Congress to support a domestic spying program, so he "secretly assumed that power anyway, as if congressional authorization was a useless bother."

He said the spying program must be considered along with other administration actions as a constitutional power grab by the president. Gore cited imprisoning American citizens without charges in terrorism cases, mistreatment of prisoners _ including torture _ and seizure of individuals in foreign countries and delivering them to autocratic regimes "infamous for the cruelty of their techniques."

Gore didn't only criticize government officials. Referring to news reports that private telecommunications companies have provided the Bush administration with access to private information on Americans, Gore said any company that did so should immediately end its complicity in the program.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So it's ok for the Clinton/Gore administration to wiretap, but if it's to Protect our National Security and the people of this Country AFTER we had been attacked it isnt ok for Bush?
Gore is never going to get over his loss in 2000.
ACLU Sues NSA, Well Of Course They Do
American Civil Liberties Union Sues to Stop President Bush's Domestic Eavesdropping Program
NEW YORK -- Civil liberties groups filed lawsuits in two cities Tuesday seeking to block President Bush's domestic eavesdropping program, arguing the electronic surveillance of American citizens was unconstitutional.
The U.S. District Court lawsuits were filed in New York by the Center for Constitutional Rights and in Detroit by the American Civil Liberties Union.
The New York suit, filed on behalf of the center and individuals, names President Bush, the head of the National Security Agency, and the heads of the other major security agencies, challenging the NSA's surveillance of persons within the United States without judicial approval or statutory authorization.
It seeks an injunction that would prohibit the government from conducting surveillance of communications in the United States without warrants.
The Detroit suit, which also names the NSA, was filed with the ACLU along with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Greenpeace and several individuals.
Messages seeking comment were left Tuesday morning with the National Security Agency and the Justice Department.
Bush, who said the wiretapping is legal and necessary, has pointed to a congressional resolution passed after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, that authorized him to use force in the fight against terrorism as allowing him to order the program.
The program authorized eavesdropping of international phone calls and e-mails of people deemed a terror risk.
The Detroit lawsuit says the plaintiffs, who frequently communicate by telephone and e-mail with people in the Middle East and Asia, have a "well-founded belief" that their communications are being intercepted by the government.
"By seriously compromising the free speech and privacy rights of the plaintiffs and others, the program violates the First and Fourth Amendments of the United States Constitution," the lawsuit states.
Here we go again! It's more important for the ACLU to protect the rights of Terrorists/and/or/possible terrorists than it is to protect the people, US that the terrorists want to kill!
Sometimes We Have To Be Reminded
Thought you might be interested in this forgotten bit of information..........
It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.
There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!
He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"
Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."
The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?"
"No, sir," continued Ollie.
"No? And why not?" the senator asked.
"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."
"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.
"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.
"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"
"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.
It was Abu Nidal Ollie was refering to not Usama.
At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.
"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.
"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.
"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."
The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.
By the way, that senator was Al Gore!
It was not Senator Gore, it was Commitee Councel John Nields
Also:
Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."
However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.
Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center . This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified.
It was censored in the US from all later reports.
Either way if had they had listened to Ollie alot of deaths could have been prevented from any of the Terrorists Ollie named!
What Were They Thinking?
Ok so we already know Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez seen here with his good buddy Fidel Castro of Cuba
He is going to legalize Coke, hands out "Coke" money to the poor and still having a rough time of it people in New Orleans trying to make us look bad and frankly I dont know why after all the things he has said we allow his help in this Country anyway, and think's President Bush is the biggest terrorist of all time. But to top the whole episode off Senator Hillary Clinton
Now I'm sort of confused here, if Hillary met up with Belafonte at a funraiser, who met up with Chavez in Venezuela, who both agree that Our Commander-In-Chief is a terrorist, and Hillary didnt turn around and walk out because of Belafonte's comments about the President, doesnt that look like she is agreeing with both of them? And this woman want's to be the next President of the United States of America? What was she thinking?
Bush's Other Report Card, The One Liberals Are Keeping Quiet About
Of course with all the talk of Tom Delay, Abramoff, and wire tapping phone calls made from somone involved with Al-Quida to someone in the US or Vise Versa, the Liberals are trying to cover up all the good things that have been happening lately, and I'm quite sure that is thier intention. Here are a few examples:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dow Hit's Record High:
Newsmax reports:

Investors appeared euphoric this week when the Dow Jones industrial average closed above 11,000 Monday for the first time since before the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, lifted by a five-day rally that has sent stocks soaring so far in 2006.

According to preliminary calculations, the average of 30 blue-chip stocks ended the day up 52.59, or 0.48 percent, at 11,011.90, its first finish above 11,000 since June 7, 2001, when it closed at 11,090.74.

Monday's advance followed a 241-point surge last week as investors grew increasingly optimistic that the Federal Reserve will soon end its string of interest rate hikes. Investment firms' upgrades of Dow components General Motors Corp. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. gave the Dow the final push above 11,000 Monday.

"It sends a signal that the U.S. economy has weathered some pretty harsh storms over the past few years and in recent months," Art Hogan, chief investment strategist at Jefferies & Co., told the Associated Press.

Liberal Corruption

Ever wonder whatever happened to the Republican "Get out the vote" tire slashing episode of the last Presidential Election?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Newsmax is reporting:
Fourteen months after John Kerry narrowly carried Wisconsin in the 2004 presidential election amidst allegations of voter fraud, five campaign workers for the Kerry-Edwards campaign team are set for trial Tuesday in Milwaukee on felony charges of damage to property.
The "Milwaukee Five" is charged with slashing 40 tires on 25 separate Republican vehicles on the morning of the 2004 presidential election. The vehicles were rented by the Wisconsin Republican Party to transport less-mobile voters to the polls on Election Day. In total, the vandals disabled 25 percent of the Republican Party's "Get Out the Vote" fleet.
The defendants include Sowande Ajumoke Omokunde, the son of Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) who also goes by the name Supreme Solar Allah; Michael Pratt, the son of former Milwaukee Mayor Marvin Pratt and leader of Kerry's campaign team in Milwaukee; Lewis Caldwell; Lavelle Mohammed, and Justin Howell.
According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, four of the defendants were paid operatives of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, including Omokunde and Pratt.
Court TV will cover the trial, which is expected to last two weeks. Potential witnesses include Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.), national AFL-CIO President John Sweeney, and 77 others - including FBI agents, Milwaukee police officers, and party activists from both parties.
The five defendants, who will be tried together, are charged with criminal damage to property, a felony with maximum sentences of 3 1/2 years in prison or $10,000 in fines.
The criminal complaint states that Opel Simmons, a Democratic campaign worker from Virginia, identified the defendants as the perpetrators, and told police they had named their plan "Operation Elephant Takeover."
Simmons told Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney David Feiss that he saw the defendants dressed in "Mission Impossible type gear" at Democratic Party headquarters sometime around 3 a.m. on the morning of the election.
When Simmons asked the five what they were planning, defendant Lavelle Mohammed allegedly responded, "You don't want to know, don't ask.?
The defendants returned to Democratic headquarters approximately 20 minutes later. Simmons told investigators they were jubilant and shared details of their vandalism spree with him. "We got 'em," said Pratt. "We hit the tires."
The tire-slashing incident is just one of a number of election-day irregularities in Wisconsin, a state where Kerry only prevailed by 11,384 votes.
Questions have been raised about the inordinately large volume of Election Day registrations in Milwaukee, where 84,000 people in a city of 600,000 registered at the polls on the day of the election. The total represented 30 percent of all voters in the city.
Milwaukee city officials admitted in January 2005 that around 10,000 same-day registrations could not be verified, leaving open the possibility of fraud.
An investigation by the Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel reported another 1,200 Milwaukeeans voted using invalid addresses. Another article revealed in late January 2005 that there were 7,000 more votes than voters in Milwaukee, suggesting ballot-stuffing in the Democrat-controlled city.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is no end to the corruption in the Liberal party.
Glad to see someone is going to be paying a price for this nonsense. I'm glad this wasnt swept under the rug. Like the Sandy Berger crap.
Now how about those registered to vote convicted felons?

were barely underway and of course we expect to hear from the usual suspects Schumer, Leahey, Biden, Kennedy, etc., the usual suspects, and they should by all means have thier say. But at the opening of the confirmation hearings on Judge Samuel Alito where everyone is trying to get to know one another and tell what is expected of everyone, when it came time for Kennedy's chance to speak naturaly the Moron said:

"In an era where the White House is abusing power, is excusing and authorizing torture, and is spying on American Citizens, I find Judge Alito's support for an all powerful executive brance to be genuinely troubleing"!

What Kennedy forgot to mention was:
The White House is doing everything in it's power to prevent us from getting attacked once again, President Bush has NEVER authorized Torture and those that have commited it, have been tried, convicted, and are paying the penalty for it now, and as for spying on American citizens, Kennedy forgets to mention or for Political reasons omits the fact that the phone calls that have been monitored are from Al-Quiada members to someone in the United States Or Vise Versa! If someone in the US is talking to someone from Al-Qaida I would like to know why also!!!
Either way Kennedy has to grandstand and even in the first day of Alito confirmations!!!
What a show we can expect from this Liberal asshole.

Are You A Republican?

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."
