How To Lose A Presidential Election Shortly After Becoming Your Party's Nominee
A fight is brewing between Senator McCain and the North Carolina GOP Over this ad:
Senator John McCain:
If you wish to become President of the United States in the Republican Party, you dont do it by slamming your own party and/or The Current President of the United States who happens to be a Republican!
Mr. McCain, just when you were starting to get Conservatives to join you, you opened mouth and inserted foot!
I emplore you to STOP IT!! Just who in the hell do you think you are to tell North Carolina what to run? You are NOT President yet Mr. McCain and you wont be anytime soon if this crap keeps up!
Write Sen. McCain and tell him what's on your mind:

Unless of course McCain's goal was to make sure everyone saw the ad after he denounced it at the same time he links Obama to Hamas.
Could McCain be that clever?
Mike,
It is odd isnt it?
I called Senator Coburn's office one of my Senator's since he and McCain seem to be so chumy and I was a bit surprised as to the response I got from the lady on the phone, she said:
"It sure is drawing attention isnt it"?
I didnt think about it till a little bit ago and maybe you are right.
I dont know what McCain is up to.
I know this has drawn alot of attention to this ad!
If he is that clever I am shocked!
I don't know Marie, that ad might offend moderates and we all know the last thing McCain wants to do offend his base.
LOL Jenn,
I think he pissed off his base and then some.
Maybe he has some wild ass plan going on!
Marie, here's what I think, for whatever it's worth:
McCain is taking the high road, and he knows full well that the ad will not be removed. I'm sure that he really appreciates the ad, but he knows that Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and all the conservative talking heads on TV and Radio will run with this. He doesn't have to approve it and he can look "oh - so above it all" by asking them to remove it. All he did by doing that is call attention to it. He may not be as conservative as we would wish, but there's nothing stupid about the man. Remember that he knows he has to pick up disgruntled Democrats and Independents. :)
Um, excuse me, Marie. Who is the North Carolina Republican Party to speak for the citizens of North Carolina? Who does the NC Republican Party think it is? Why does the NC Republican Party have the right to speak for all North Carolinians, to say what North Carolinians think is "too extreme"? This ad is an insult to the North Carolina people. Their votes shall determine which candidate they consider to be "too extreme."
Gayle,
I realize he has to pick up disgruntled Democrats and Independents, but he sure cant afford to lose his own base in the process.
It just makes me a bit mad when he alienates us.
I mean why give the left more amunition?
I know he want's to run a clean campaign but telling the RNC in North Carolina not to run an ad they feel is necessary to defeat the folks that are in the running for Governor there is just shocking.
Unless of course as it has been pointed out, that maybe he has some trick up his sleeve.

Ortho,
I believe the RNC in North Carolina is speaking for the Republicans in North Carolina
The message I am sending here is for McCain to let North Carolina be the judge of who and what they run, but telling them they cant? I think it's wrong.
McCain doesnt need to campaign in North Carolina he already has the nomination locked up.
This is really between Obama and Hillary.
I think McCain needs to stay the hell out of all this stuff that IS going to happen in these other states until the Democrats have thier nominee.
Then he can say what he want's.
...Why does the NC Republican Party have the right to speak for all North Carolinians,
A: they don't, they are obviously pointing out the obvious in what I believe they call a campaign. I may wrong though; a campaign is usually what they do to try to convince people to vote for their candidate by not only pointing out the positive aspects of the said candidate but by also pointing out the obvious foibles of the opponent so the electors will see that your candidate is obviously of higher moral character therfore a better person to represent the majority of said population.
You are right on the money with this one Marie.
To prove that you and I are on the same wave-length, I also wrote about this yesterday.
Who does McCain think he is, telling the NC GOP what to do?
Perhaps he recalls:

Jenn,
I must say I am getting totally confused here.
First McCain blast's the ad, then he himself blast's Rev Wright!
He cant have it both way's. I know he want's to run a clean campaign, but he needs to shut up and let the states run what they want to run.
Pretty soon the 527's are going to be out in full force and there wont be a thing McCain can do about it!

DD,
You dont have to prove anything to me, you and I think alike alot!
Scary isnt it? lol
I will be over to your place shortly :)

BB,
WOW! I almost forgot about that. But I truly dont think Bush could control those people just like McCain isnt going to be able to stop all of us!
