Trial of Obama Fundraiser Tony Rezko Begins

A longtime donor for U.S. Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama went on trial Monday, accused of money laundering and extorting bribes.
Prosecutors charge that Antoin "Tony" Rezko tried to extort millions of dollars in kickbacks from investment houses that wanted to do business with Illinois state boards. Jury selection started Monday.
As Rezko sat in a Chicago courtroom, Illinois Senator Obama was campaigning in Texas and answering questions by reporters about his relationship with Rezko. Obama said Rezko was a friend and supporter for many years, but that the charges facing him are not related to the senator.
Obama allegedly received $10,000 from a Rezko associate, which the senator's campaign team later gave to charity.

(Stevens, Renzi, Foley, Craig, Vitter are all members of Congress...and yes, so is William Jefferson)
If he is guilty of a crime, then yes, he should face the maximum penalty.
He sold Obama a house for 1.65 million dollars. So that makes Obama....what? Any money he donated to Obama's campaign, once Rezko was discovered to be the villain that he is, was then donated to charities in Illinois.
Obama and Rezko have as much of a relationship as McSame and Vicki Iseman ;-)

I was thinking Obama claims (Like Edwards did) that he is for the working man yet goes home to a mansion. Not quite as exquisite as Edward's but what's a million dollars to those guy's here and there?
Nope Rezco donated umpteen dollars to Obama's campaign also, like that guy Hsu that is in jail that donated to Hillary's campaign.
And hey, you forgot to mention Abramoff!
