Troops Furious With Hillary And Democrats

Rep. Peter King: Troops Furious at Hillary Over MoveOn Ad

American troops in Iraq are in a “rage” over Hillary Clinton and other Democrats’ failure to condemn the MoveOn.org ad calling General David Petraeus “General Betray Us.”

That’s the word from Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican who recently returned from a fact-finding trip to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

In an interview with talk radio host Steve Malzberg, King said what struck him most about the troops in Iraq was how closely they are following politics in the U.S., and how angry they are over the Democrats’ reaction to the MoveOn.org ad.

King said he had lunch with several female soldiers at a base in Iraq and they were “furious at the Democrats for not denouncing the ad and for what was said about General Petraeus.

“This has been noticed by the troops,” King told Malzberg.

“They specifically mentioned Hillary Clinton, being angry at her, and the Democrats in general for not denouncing MoveOn.org. It went beyond a political anger — it was a rage.”

The MoveOn.org ad — which appeared in the New York Times — charged Petraeus with “cooking the books for the White House” when he delivered his Iraq report on Sept. 10.

“To imply that Petraeus is a liar — MoveOn called him a traitor!” said King. “I was struck by the intensity of the anger from these people.”

King said some of the soldiers who had previously supported Clinton’s presidential bid no longer did.

King also criticized New York Sen. Charles Schumer, who said that the level of violence in Iraq’s Anbar province was down “despite the ‘surge,’ not because of it.” He suggested that the American troops couldn’t “get the job done,” so tribal leaders took up the fight against the insurgents themselves.

Schumer is “totally wrong,” King declared.

He said the tribes took action to fight the insurgents only after they saw the U.S. step up efforts in Anbar.

Well this was to be expected. The Troops dont want Hillary as thier "Commander-In-Cheif". Hillary has already lost the respect of our Military, and they vote too! Just keep defending MoveOn.org Hillary. Doing a great job there :-)

You can't blame them at all. She wants to be CIC but insults a top commander and calls him a liar?

I would like to see the results of her making a visit to Iraq now. If she thinks she was snubbed then I bet they won't even gie the witch the time of day now! GOOD!

I don't think she would dare visit Iraq now. Someone might trip and accidentally shoot her.

I've often said that given enough rope the Dems would hang themselves with it. Looks like they've finally figured out how to tie the 13 loop noose!

The House overwhelmingly voted to condemn the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org for a recent advertisement attacking the top U.S. general in Iraq. By a 341-79 vote, the House passed a resolution praising the patriotism Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Petraeus as "General Betray Us."

347 to 79, and Hillary was one of the 79.

When you look at how many average civilians like us were outraged you can only imagine how upset the troops would be.

Great find Marie, I hadn't seen this yet.

What a shame they couldn't get some of these soldiers on camera to give their point of view.

Hillary has her minions out all over the place and the troops are not supposed to respond?

I'm sure everyone has seen the photo of a soldier meeting Hillary in Iraq using the secret hand sign for coercion:

If Clinton showed up at my old unit I think they'd find a way to make the old hag walk the plank and get a free visit to Davy Jones' locker arrgghhhhh.

I think everyone has forgotten or may not have realized that our military was so small and spread so thin before George Bush became Prez because the Clintons loathe the military and they cut the budget to the bone putting us the predicament we found ourselves in on 9/11. I'd certainly walk her down the plank before I'd take a single command from her. F--- her and her jerk off husband.

But the Democrats support the troops. How dare the troops say otherwise. Are the troops questioning the Democrats patriotism? Are they accusing them of being dishonest?

Well our troops fight for the right of the Deomocrats to not support them fighting for our rights and our troops should realize that. This is just one more attempt by the troops to cast a bad light on the Democrats who support them but not their mission. This is just another example of how far our troops will go to damage those who continually threaten to cut off thier funding and force them to surrender to our enemies. This just proves that they do not appreciate all that the Democrats try to do for them like insisting that we treat captured enemy combatants better than our own servicemen when charged with a crime and give them the presumption of innocence that is denied our own soldiers.

(For all of you on the left: The above statement was delivered while still dripping with sarcasm, in case you missed that.)

Mike,

I would have loved to have seen the Troops respond to this personaly myself.

I had seen that picture somewhere and forgot to copy it, thank's for providing the link :-)

Hillary Clinton serves in the Senate, not the House.

LOL @ CC's comment!!

Great post Marie, I hadn't heard about this. Every time dems open their mouth they just keep digging themselves into a bigger hole. They have no one to blame but themselves, which frankly makes it even more fun to watch.

I can totally understand why the troops are pissed, so are we. And we aren't the ones fighting for the freedom that gives these idiots the right to be idiots!

You want to see how they really feel? This was even before the MoveOn.org crap.

The following is a letter from an Army Sergeant serving in Iraq:

A Letter from the Front

Not an easy read, but well worth your time. I think everyone in the country should have to read this.

Concerned Citizen,

You nailed it. That's why in the Bill of Rights, it continually mentions U.S. Citizens...right?
Wrong. It never mentions U.S. Citizens in the Bill of Rights. It applies to the federal government and what it can and cannot do to a human being regardless of nationality, military, race, creed, color or religion.

I'm a registered Democrat and have sent at least a dozen care packages to my neighbor's unit in Iraq. I support the troops 100%. I do not, however, support this regime...err...administration and this horribly unjust war. Supporting both the troops and the war agenda are not a package deal.

Are you still one of the 40% right wing that believe Saddam played a part in 9/11? If you are, I just wasted 144 seconds of my time.

Federalist,

The law of the land since 1998 was to remove the Saddam Regime.

The Iraq Liberation Act

Signed into law by none other than Bill Clinton.

So when you say this is Bush's war or an unjust war, you might as well take that up with Bill Clinton.

President Bush was just enforcing the law of the land.

And as for people not being in the "Bill Of Right's" maybe you need to read it again:

THE BILL OF RIGHTS
Amendments 1-10 of the Constitution

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Conventions of a number of the States having, at the time of adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added, and as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution;
