Al Qaeda Announces New Bin Laden Video
Osama bin Laden will soon send a video message to America, according to a Web site regularly used by al Qaeda.
A posting late this afternoon said, "Soon, with the permission of God, a new visual tape, the Sheikh, the Lion, Osama bin Laden. May God protect him."
Bin Laden has not been seen on a new video since October 2004.
A still frame accompanying the announcement shows bin Laden with an all-black beard. In his 2004 appearance, his facial hair was predominantly gray.
Federal law enforcement authorities say that another Web site had posted a message on Sept. 2, promising "a special gift to be delivered on the blessed day of the invasion of Manhattan."

But U.S. officials are skeptical the tape will show a new message from bin Laden. One said, "We will believe it when we see it."

I have to see this to believe this monster is alive. Even if it proves to be UBL it could have been made BEFORE he died! But with all the "Chatter" coming in, and Chertoff's "Gut Feeling" and that HUGE terror bust in Germany, I am beginning to get a little worried. I think all of us should keep a good lookout for anything suspicious between now and 9-11, and report it. Never be affraid to report it, if it turns out to be nothing, they dont hold it against you. By the way, Usama? Piss Off!!!!

I would have said no way about the video tape, but with the happenings in
Germany. You just don't know. I think the thought that terrifies me is that these extremists could be living a block from you and you wouldnt know. It would take some major planning to pull of another 9-11 but on a smaller scale could be just as dangerous for our country.

I heard an interview with Michael Shuyer last night and when asked about the gray beards in older photos he said it was common for the Islamic guys to dye their beards using henna. Yeah well the last time I checked henna is red. Seems to me that this guy Scheur was one of the guys we were relying on to follow these Islamic guys and give us information on them. Great job!!

That's Michael Scheuer you are referring to. He's been very critical of the Administration; and yes, critical of the previous one, too. I do put some stock into what he says, but his overall analysis, I feel, is flawed in the same way that Howard Zinn's understanding of American history is flawed. Howard Zinn may be a professor and an "expert" in his field, but it doesn't make him correct in his analysis of known facts.
Same is true for the "foremost" CIA intell analyst,expert and head of the bin Laden unit.
Also, I'm not so sure that he isn't saying things, based upon political leanings.
He came out in a press conference with Ron Paul, to back him after the first presidential debate...I posted on it, on Educating Ron, Part I.
