Al Gore's Son Busted

Al Gore's Son Busted For Drugs In Hybrid Car

LOS ANGELES - The 24-year-old son of former Vice President Al Gore was arrested for drug possession on Wednesday after he was stopped for speeding in his hybrid Toyota Prius, a sheriff's official said.

Al Gore III -- whose father is a leading advocate of policies to fight global warming -- was driving his environmentally friendly car at about 100 miles per hour on a freeway south of Los Angeles when he was pulled over by an Orange County sheriff's deputy at about 2:15 a.m.

The deputy smelled marijuana and searched the car, said sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino. The search turned up a small amount of marijuana, along with prescription drugs including Valium, Xanax, Vicodin, Adderall and Soma. There were no prescriptions found, he said.

Gore was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and booked into the Inmate Reception Center in Santa Ana, about 34 miles south of Los Angeles, on $20,000 bail. Although he quickly identified himself as the son of the former vice president, Amormino said Gore received no special privileges.

Gore made bail and was released at 2 p.m., Amormino said. He will receive notice of a court date within 30 days.

The youngest child and only son of the former vice president, Gore has had previous brushes with the law. He was arrested in 2003 for marijuana possession and in 2002 for suspected drunken-driving.

Hat Tip To Is This Life? For This Little Diddy

In 1989, aged six, Gore almost died when he was hit by a car, and required extensive surgery and physical therapy.

A spokesman for the elder Gore said he was traveling and could not immediately be reached for comment. The one-time presidential candidate is one of the organizers of the Live Earth concerts taking place around the world on July 7. The concerts are designed to raise awareness of global warming.

It's really a shame to see gloating over Al Gore's son's troubles.

None of us is immune from this sort of heartache.

I took no pleasure in reading about President Bush's daughters getting caught passing a false ID and doing under age drinking. Kids have problems. Most often parents try to help them, sometimes kids won't help themselves.

Our 2nd president, John Adams, had three sons. John Q. became our 6th president, but John Adams' other two sons, Charles and Thomas Boylston, were drunks and gamblers and great disappointments to John and Abigail.

Imagine yourself posting that John Adams was a moron for not spending more time with his sons. Apparently that's what you would have done had you lived in colonial America.

There's an old Italian saying:

"Mai sputo nel vento; può ritornare e colpirlo nella faccia."

Translation:

"Never spit in the wind, it may come back and hit you in the face."

Joanne,

Who's gloating?

I would much wrather see Al Gore do something about his son than carry on this Charade about Global Hysteria.

President Bush's daughters werent out on the street's driving a car under the influence of whatever it was he was under. There were so many pills and alcohol it's hard to tell what he was on.

Yeah thank God John Adam's didnt have to put up with the internet and a bunch of freaks hysterical rantings of "Manmade Global Warming"!

George W. Bush was arrested for DUI.

That means he drove under the influence. Does that make his father a moron?

Bush acknowledges 1976 DUI charge
November 2, 2000

WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin -- Texas Gov. George W. Bush acknowledged Thursday that in 1976 he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near his parents' home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush admits that he was arrested in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol near his parents' home in Kennebunkport, Maine ( 433 K/40 sec. AIFF or WAV sound)

Bush, who was 30 at the time, pleaded guilty, paid a $150 fine and his driving privileges were temporarily suspended in Maine.

Late Thursday evening, following a campaign rally in this tightly contested Midwestern state, Bush--with his wife, Laura, at his side -- told reporters news accounts of the incident were accurate, that he had been drinking in a bar with Australian tennis pro John Newcombe and others.

"I'm not proud of that. I made some mistakes. I occasionally drank too much, and I did that night. I learned my lesson." Bush said he was not jailed after the arrest. "I told the guy (the arresting officer) I had been drinking, what do I need to do? He said, 'here's the fine.' I paid the fine."

Joanne,

Actually NO! That makes George W Bush (At the time) a Moron! Not Today! Then!

George W Bush was 30, had not been hit by a car ealier in his youth, and almost died. Had that happened and George HW Bush not watched over him like a hawk ever since then I might blame daddy.

But George changed his way's, (Probably with alot of prodding and pushing from both George HW and Barbara), met Laura and changed his life and became President.

Al Gore on the other hand almost lost his son once, and I would have been watching that kid like a hawk, but then again I'm not Al or Tipper.

This is an obvious cry for help on Al Gore III's part and what's Daddy doing? Busy working on a Global Hysteria around the World concert.

I just think Al Gore needs to pay more attention to his son wrather than all this crap about Global Hysteria!

With pills and all that other crap involved this becomes more than your usual DUI.

If Al doesnt do something about the boy, he will deffinately loose him for real this time, and that I would hate to see.

I'll admit it, I was also 30 when I was arrested for DUI. No one called my Father an idiot even though he was a high ranking official at the company we both worked at. There is a difference though. My Father tried to help me as much as he could but it was up to me to turn my life around. I have now been sober for 18 years.

Another difference between my situation and that of algore and littlegore. My Father was a respectable man that earned his reputation from being an honest and hardworking person. He did not look down or talk down to others like algore does even though my Father was highly intelligent.

I can remember one time that I was in the main train station talking with my Father and a panhandler with a very old looking skunk skin hat and a dead eye came up to us. I used to see this man make his rounds everyday telling people he needed train fare to the veterans hospital. My Father reached in his pocket and gave the guy 5 bucks. When I said something about it to my Dad he said to me "that man has been begging money down here since you were a child and I always give him money because he uses it to eat with" I'll never forget that as long as I live. I learned from my Father what a phony looks and sounds like. Unlike algore, my Father was an honorable and honest man and a Democrat.

I think politicians children get in alot of trouble because thier parents are to busy to be bothered with them when they are out campaining and trying to save the planet that is on it's own natural course anyway.

Obob,

lol, I didnt either.

Dee,

I have no love lost at all for Al Gore and this started long ago, when I heard him screaming "How dare the President drag our good name through the mud" and all that crap, but what really got me was knowing his alliance with the same group of protestors that are out there today protesting our fallen Soldiers funerals! He and Fred Phelps are quite close.

But then this Global Hysteria Crap?

I just felt the need to remind Al, that maybe his son who he almost lost once to being hit by a car, should be on his mind instead of setting up a Global Hysteria rock Concert!

DD,

Haha Mel Gibson's son, that might have got him in worse trouble.

Well, Algore is a moron and his son getting busted has absolutely nothing to do with that. Two separate things.

THAT said however, with parents like Al and Tipper can you blame Lil Al for wanting to be doped?

As far as I can understand the situation with littlegore. He's a fully grown adult male. I believe he is responsible for his behavior. Having a Father that is total phony and a complete moron may have had something to do with littlegore doing all the drugs and alcohol but maybe not. My Father wasn't anything like algore so I wouldn't know.

I do know that the pressures of life and some predisposition towards addictive behavior can become a major problem if left alone and not treated.

Sometimes it just overtakes a person like the son of Robert Kennedy and there is nothing anyone can do about it. It just happens. Some of us are fortunate and are pulled back from the brink of self destruction and are able to respect themselves and respect life again.

I hope littlegore recovers and becomes a productive and useful citizen that respects himself and others. That still cannot change the fact that his his father is a pandering, lying hypocrite and would serve his country better by shutting his mouth and leaving the rest of alone from his outright lies.

At some point, the offspring of the famous and powerful (or formerly famous, or just annoying) have to take responsibility for their own behavior. The Al-gore the 1/3, Paris Hilton, King John, Teddy Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Uday and Qusay, there comes a point where the family money and influence will no longer protect you, at least in the court of public opinion (half the time, anyway), after which you just become boring.
The behavior paraded by Al-gore the 1/3 is is nobody's fault but his own. Still, he's acting out the familiar stereotype of the rich politician's kid who thinks he's above the piddling little rules that govern the common folk (that'd be us, by the way). What we can and should blame Turki Al-Gore for is letting his son get the idea that this was an acceptable way to behave.

Dear Uncle P.

You and I agree on something! But it's really telling how you list only the Democrats and (very funny) Saddam's sons, conviently omitting the Bush family's history of drinking and driving, underage drinking, and breaking the law by using illegal IDs. Yes, the Bushies are just like the Kennedys and the Gores and every other "spoiled rich" family brats.

WEST ALLIWEST ALLIS, Wisconsin -- Texas Gov. George W. Bush acknowledged Thursday that in 1976 he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near his parents' home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

And the apples don't fall far from the tree...

Judge Orders Jenna Bush to Pay $600
By JIM VERTUNO, Associated Press Writer

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - President Bush's 19-year-old daughter Jenna was fined $600 Friday and her driver's license was suspended for 30 days on charges of underage drinking and trying to use someone else's ID to buy liquor.

The University of Texas student did not attend the back-to-back hearings held to settle two separate incidents. Defense attorney Bill Allison said she was out of town.

Allison entered a no-contest plea to a charge that Bush tried to use someone else's identification to buy alcohol at a popular Mexican restaurant May 29.

Municipal Judge Karrie Key ordered Bush to pay $100 in court fees, perform 36 hours of community service and attend a session where victims of alcohol-related crimes discuss their experiences. If she completes the requirements and stays out of trouble for three months, the charge will be dismissed.

However, the underage drinking charge, which stems from an incident in April, will go on her record as a conviction because of the restaurant violation. Bush's no-contest plea had been deferred by Community Court Judge Elisabeth Earle, who found her guilty Friday, fined her $500 and suspended her license.

Jenna's twin sister, Barbara, a Yale University student, pleaded no contest last month to underage possession of alcohol stemming from the visit to the Mexican restaurant.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer declined to comment on the developments Friday, saying it was ``a family matter, not a government matter, and it's not an issue the White House is going to get into.'' He spoke from Kennebunkport, Maine, where the family is vacationing.

I will remind you once again the Bush daughter's had NO pills with them!

Here we go again, post all the Liberal shit you want, that is still not the subject at hand. Bush is not the topic of this conversation, Al Gore's kid is!

All this posting of Barbra and Jenna Bush has NOTHING to do with 1/3 getting busted and crying out for help.

Which apparently he isnt getting from Daddy, he's to busy trying to convince the world we have to do something about a natural process going on and fooling people into donating to a cause that has never been proven to even exist.

Look's like Al Gore Jr isnt even interested in helping Al Gore 1/3, just lining his own pockets with donations.

Actually, I listed King John of England (1166-1216), the son of the irascible King Henry II, and Paris Hilton, another DWI (driver with issues). As far as I know, neither of these worthies is a Democrat. As for the Bush Girls, there seems to be a lot said about them already, and I didn't have anything particularly new to add. Those two knuckleheaded Hussein boys, Amway and Ebay, well, their behavior eventually caught up with them, didn't it? Although with those two, it was a case of the apples falling not far from the horse.

Uncle P,

Either way Joanne has strayed so far from the subject at hand it's unbelieveable!

All I did was post that Al Gore 1/3 has a friggen problem that daddy or mommy should addresss and daddy is to friggen busy with crap that hasnt even been proven one way or another and want's to line his pockets with money from US the taxpayer for research into this cockamaymee crap that I personaly do NOT intend to pay for.

And that obviously with the amount of pills and marijuana, and alcohol that his kid is crying out for help. And Daddy is to F****** busy to deal with his son.

I mean has the man ever heard of Intervention?

If it were my kid? And I dont give a rats ass how old he or she may be, and even grown adults, if that were my kid? I would get relatives involved, the Police if necessary, and especially the one they fear the most, MOM!

I would go after suppliers, his friends, his friends mothers, I mean If I had to interviene in something like that to save my kids life, there would be hell to pay and everybody would pay and wish to God they werent involved by the time I was done with them.

But Al is to friggen busy to deal with any of it.

And this has nothing to do with the Bush girls!

It's just unfriggenbelieveable that you call on Al Gore to take care of his own son, and you get Liberals trying to defend his ass and stuff the Bush girls in on a problem that is a NOW situation before the boy is dead!

The bottom line is that littlegore is the one busted. He put himself and others in danger by driving 100mph in a piece of junk completely under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. I hope he gets help and gets sober.

algore is a complete and total wodenheaded moron that hasn't a speck of decency in him. algore is a hypocrite and an elitist. There's no telling really if that has anything to do with his son being a alcoholic and drug addict.

Being an alcoholic really sucks and I have compassion and sympathy for the son, algore should go jump in a lake or just shut the hell up because it hurts most everyone's ears when he speaks.

Marie,

I was responding to Uncle P., who, as you can see from the above, brought other people into the discussion. Not I.

I responded by pointing out that the Bush's have a history o substance abuse as well. That the Bush twins didn't have pills on them does not make their illegal acts any less illegal. They broke the law concerning substance abuse, as did their father, President Bush, and as did Al Gore, III.

My whole gripe is that Al friggen Gore (Daddy) is to busy with this live earth crap to deal with HIS son. Not the Bush daughters!

That's what this whole post was suppose to be about. How Al Gore is NOT doing the "Daddy" job.

Jenn is right also, the boy was going 100 miles an hour give or take HIGH AS A KITE!

I really dont think Bush's daughters buying a beer underage with Secret Service surrounding them constantly even qualifies as a comparison.

You've swerved into something that doesn't quite add up, Marie. What orders do the SS guards surrounding the Bush Girls have concerning preventing their young charges from engaging in criminal behavior?
How did it happen that they were buying beer with fake IDs, while standing next to a couple of police officers?
Hey, I'm just askin'...
But the point is, they got caught, and they didn't whine about how it wasn't fair (as did the hotel child), or how "I'm a f***in' prince, thou whoreson knave" (as certain inbred social parasites of the House of Windsor have been known to do.
From the liberal perspective, bad behavior is only bad when it's done by bad people, viz., Rethuglikkkans. Democrats, being nice people, smart people who only want to help the poor and save the planet, never do bad things.

Oh, come on Uncle P. That's your "I'm a victim" take on it. I know lots of people who vote the Democratic ticket, and whose children have to be accountable when they behave badly. Unless you have solid facts to back that whiney complaint up, please don't make claims that are not verifiable, because thats just so much sound and fury signifying nothing.

No parent can be with their adult, independent offspring who has achieved his majority. If he's over 21, he's on his own.

I have no idea, and neither do any of us, why Gore the son is suffering from substance abuse.

When George W. Bush was convicted of DUI, he, too, could have killed someone. He didn't. And neither did Al Gore's son. Thank God. And let us hope that Gore's son gets help and turns away from his substace abuse the way George Bush did when he was 40 years old.

Now I have to go back to Sunday dinner for my cousins who are visiting:

Tagliatelle with fresh tomato sauce made with plum tomatoes, garlic, lots of basil, and served with a sprinkling of Gorgonzola cheese and Parmesean cheese.

Roast lemon, garlic, rosemary chicken.

Veggie combo of julienne of zucchini, fresh corn niblets from the cob, and sundried tomatoes seasoned with mint, parsley and thyme.

Raspberry sherbet with fresh blueberries and chocolate pizzelle cookies for dessert.

It's better to eat than to argue.

Good for you Joanne, looks like you still have some fight in ya. You arguments comparing the Bush girls to littlegore is a little weak but what the heck.

George Bush saw the error of his ways and changed his life around about the same way it happened for me. I was just out on a big party and all of the sudden reality came a calling. I can go out with friends and they have their wine or beer with their food but I, like George Bush am a teatotler because I did not know how to not over do it.

I have found over the years that if parents teach their children about the dangers of alcohol and drugs from an early age then the children stand a better chance of resisting the peer pressure to experiment.

It would be easier for most people to have a little more sympathy for littlegore if his father wasn't such a pompous, self righteous, hypocrite.
