You Just Paid For A Transgender Beauty Pagent
How the CDC spends billions of tax dollars
Did you know that as a U.S. taxpayer you have helped fund a transgender beauty pageant? That is just one on a long list of bloated expenses by the tax-funded Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
CDC director Dr. Julie Gerberding recently told the U.S. Senate that her agency needed an additional billion dollars. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) decided to see how the CDC had spent its last $10 billion. What he found will make you sick.
The CDC has wasted millions of taxpayer dollars during the past few years on everything from vegetable statues to zero gravity chairs. Sen. Coburn shows in his report, "CDC Off Center," that the CDC has spent millions on lavish facilities, questionable conferences, and new offices in the home states of committee members who oversee its funding.
Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, points out some of the more outrageous line items:
The CDC used syphilis prevention funds to host a "safe sex" event with a porn star.
It spent $45 million for conferences, including some that featured prostitutes and beach parties.
On the HIV/AIDS front, one grantee hosted a "bar night" with instructions on "how to throw a good party with lots of alcohol."
Sen. Coburn reports that the CDC spent enough money on trips for employees to international AIDS conferences to underwrite drugs that would have prevented mother-to-child AIDS transmission in over 115,000 babies.

But, instead of making good use of the billions the CDC gets, Dr. Gerberding says she needs an additional billion dollars to operate. If Dr. Gerberding wants to keep the "safe sex" events with a porn star, international conferences featuring prostitutes and beach parties, and a bar night teaching how to throw a good party with lots of alcohol, let her get it from the millions wasted by the CDC.

Isnt this friggen dandy! So alot of Government waste has wound up in of all places the Centers For Disease Control. Good for Senator Coburn, he is on a mission to find out where all of our Tax payer money is going. Is anyone comfortable with the idea that we just paid for a Transgender Beauty Pagent? I'm NOT! The American people expect CDC to spend its $10 billion budget this year treating and preventing diseases and dealing with public safety threats, including the threat of bioterrorism. While CDC will meet some of those expectations, if history is any guide, it will also waste millions of dollars. Our Dollars!

Unfortunately for our side, Marie, the excesses of the last $10billion were authorized by the alleged "Republicans" in Congress, and signed off by George W.

Yeah I know, but in this instance I dont mind holding thier feet to the fire either.
Any of them that are up there wasting OUR money, is going to start being held accountable.
With all the Bloggers, Internet, Picture Cell Phones, YouTube, etc..These guys dont stand a chance hopefully, And people like Senator Coburn not being affraid to look into this crap, they are all under scrutiny.
And they all should be, after all it is OUR Money!
I think Coburn is doing a very good job of bringing this wasteful spending to light, I sure would never have thought the CDC would be involved in this.
I hope Coburn finds all these little hidden areas of waste.
Can you imagine if this were a Democrat? They wouldnt be able to contain themselves, like they are anyway.

Outraged when I ran across the story, I wasted no time posting on it myself.
This kind of tax squandering has become a bipartisan effort, as though the Republican half of Congress has caught some disease once found almost exclusively among their colleagues across the aisle.
To me, all this demonstrates is a complete lack of respect for the voting public by those we've elected to govern the country.
They toss our hard earned tax money around according to their whims, like a spoiled golddigger turned loose with some zillionaire sugar daddy's credit cards.
Every campaigning politician vows to lean down the spending of our taxes, then once elected/reelected pitches megabucks away with the skill of a 5 card draw dealer.
This needs to be stopped.
The problem is that on the left side of the aisle, politicians represent a constituency that fully supports flushing our taxes down the commode, while those on the right know they, too, can do so with impunity: The only voice the voter has is the power of the vote, and as Election Day 2006 demonstrated, "punishing" Republican members of Congress for their misdeeds only leads to disasterous Democrat victories.

This is one of the many reason why I like Fred Thompson. He is for limited government and cutting speding especially STUPID spending like this!
There's no one wtaching the store anymore. There's not even a sense of shame for wasting taxpayer money. It used to be that the politicians would look around nd sneak around and maybe stuff a roll of bills in thier pocket and be satisfied. Not the case anymore, now they fill their wheel barrows with cash while giving us the finger telling us to go get your own I got mine.

I just checked out the Coburn report Marie. The CDC is a realitively small agency when compared to the Education, Agriculture, Bureau of Land management etc... imagine all the money that is literally flushed down the toilet at those huge departments.
Nobody but a few Senators like Coburn care enough to look into it because they are all filling up their wheelbarrows with cash. Do you think John Murtha gives a fricken damn about the American military? Hell no, he could care less, he wanted his and his brother's share of the military spending and wasn't getting it that's why all the fuss from him.
Now that Nancy Piglousy is speaker do hear anything from Murtha? Hell no, she stuffed a porkchop in his face and he shut right up.

Coburn is a Dr. that's probably why he cares more than the rest of them. Whatever his reasons, I like it :-)
We wont be hearing anything from Pelosi or Murtha yet, but when Coburn starts breathing down thier necks, I bet we hear alot, especially derogatory things that will just convieniently pop up out of no where, leaked to the media, or flat out made up bullshit about the man. That's how Pelosi and Murtha and well hell the entire Democrat Party work!
I just had to post this, I am really proud of my two Senators, Tom Cohburn and James Inhofe.
They seem to be actually WORKING up there on Capitol Hill.
Coburn goes after the money and Inhofe goes after Al Gore lol.
Every time Al Gore gets some message out there on the internet or TV or in a large fashion however he did it about Global Warming, there is Inhofe every time to give Al Some Hell lol.
I have grown very fond of my Senators and I guess they crack me up too :-)
