Senator James Inhofe R-OK Overhears Senator's Clinton And Boxer Talking About "Legislative Fix" For Conservative Talk Radio
Sens. Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer Dispute Conversation About Reining in Conservative Talk Radio
Sen. Barbara Boxer of California says Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe "needs to have his hearing checked" if he thinks he heard Boxer and Sen. Hillary Clinton talking about a "legislative fix" to curb conservative talk radio.
Inhofe, a Republican, said Thursday on John Ziegler's evening radio show on KFI in L.A. that he overheard Clinton, D-N.Y., and Boxer, D-Calif., saying they want legislation to control conservative radio talk shows.

Senator James Inhofe R-OK
"I was going over to vote the other day and I was walking with two very liberal gals that didn’t pay any attention to me being with them. They were outraged by something you said or Rush Limbaugh or somebody said that upset them," Inhofe told Ziegler. "They said, ‘we have got to do something about this, these are nothing but far-right wing extremists. We’ve got to have a balance, there’s got to be a legislative fix to this.’"
He added: "As we got off the elevator, I said, ‘you gals don’t understand. This is market-driven and there’s no market for your liberal trite.’"LOL!!
When asked what female senators Inhofe was referencing, the Oklahoma lawmaker said one was running for president, and the talk-shot host guessed Boxer's name.
But Boxer spokeswoman Natalie Ravitz told FOXNews.com that conversation "never happened."
"Senator Boxer told me that either her friend Senator Inhofe needs new glasses or he needs to have his hearing checked, because that conversation never happened," Ravitz said in an e-mail.
"Jim Inhofe is wrong," added Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines. "This supposed conversation never happened, not in his presence or anywhere else."

WOW! My Senators are on a roll! Naturally Clinton and Boxer will deny that Inhofe heard them, so what are they calling Inhofe a Liar? We all know about the "Un "Fairness Doctrine" and how the Liberals would love to silence Conservative Talk Radio. We cant help it that Liberal Radio takes a dive. We cant help it if Liberal Talk Radio is a disaster and no one want's to hear them moan and bitch. Hell they already have the Main Stream Media, and Teachers in the Classroom, Print Newspapers, Unions, AARP, etc.. All on thier side. Can we have Nothing? That's all we have is Conservative Talk Radio and Fox News woopie! And Fox News isnt all that Republican biased anyway, so we have very little to get our message across and they want to take that away from us? WTF? You go get 'em Senator Inhofe, I'm behind you all the way :-) You Liberals are really going to have a fight on your hands if you want to silence Conservative Talk Radio because us Conservatives WILL NOT PUT UP WITH IT!!

The people advocating this are fascist garbage. Kucinich, Boxer and the PIAPS? DhimmicRATS don't surprise me, but Trent Lott? He is a shameful disgrace.
The truth is that the phony and failing so-called liberal and progressive agenda is a sham and more people are waking up to it. The Left has a very weak argument that comes across even worse on the radio, and people just end up changing the channel.
Also, conservative talk on radio and cable always addresses and discusses so-called progressive ideology so they can logically show how inferior and flawed it is.
No one is stopping George Soros from pumping millions into a money-losing Air America and keeping it going forever. But it is just such a bad business model that apparently even Leftie Moonbat Soros can't stand donating endless drops of his bucket to it.
absurd thought -
God of the Universe says
CONTROL the media
socialists as dangerous
should never be exposed
.
To quote Hillary and Barbara, "you must be hearing things"!
Yeah Rignt.
Watch it people, we may be next!
Hillary has her Gestapo uniform on.
PS.. I did a blog on this subject as well.
I hit the same topic is a post. The more I have surfed today the more outrage is showing up. Chavez shut down the opposition media in Venezuela and the Left in the US is using the same playbook. It is censorship and a violation of the 1st Amendment
The fascist elements of the Democratic party have long wished for a return to the Fairness Doctrine. It's not just the two Senators overheard by Mr. Inhofe, and it's not just conservative talk radio.
Our Congressperson, Nancy Boyda (Democrat, Kansas) supports a return to government control of political speech on the radio, and like the rest of her party (the Democrats), eventually wants to shut down Christian radio.
Here's her local office phone numbers: Topeka at (785) 234-8111 or Pittsburg at (620) 231-3011
William Safire had the HildaBeast pegged a long time ago.
Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady... is a congenital liar.
Liberals know there is no market for liberal radio. They just want to silence Limbaugh, Hannity et all.
Does anyone listen to Alan Colmes in the middle of the night? A few people do. Fox News probably gave him a forum to shut up his whining.
Dont you guy's think there will be public outcry if they try to screw with Conservative Talk Radio?
I know I will be bitching and moaning!
And if they get thier way on this issue what next? Conservative BLOGGERS?
I dont like the smell of this whole thing especially when we have no other way to get our message out and this seems to me to be taking away some of our rights!
We dont need to be delt with THEY DO!!
Sure, there will be a public outcry when the Democrats try to shut down conservative talk radio and Christian radio. There was an outcry in Venezuela when Hugo "Who smelt it, dealt it" Chavez shut down the opposition tv station, but he shut it down anyway.
The sad part is that Trent Lott and Lindsay Graham agree with them!
I wrote on this today. As a former Radio DJ, and Operations Manager legislation like the Fairness Doctrine would be the demise of Conservative Talk radio, because the forced equal time would be a financial disaster for stations.
Good post!
How do you know Shrillary and Boxer are lying?
Sen Imhofe heard them talking!
;-)
Feinstein of Cali has joined the tyranical chorus
If the Democrats want a revolution in this country all they have to do is shut down talk radio and go after us bloggers. You're right Marie, we will not stand for it! Don't they pay attention to anything? Didn't they see the rioting in Venezuela when Chavez did that? Good heavens, that country is under seige by Chavez and his goons and there were still demonstrations.
I think they should do at least a trial run of the fairness doctrine. We can have an hour and half of Glen Beck, followed by an hour and a half of Randi Rhodes, then hour and a half of Rush, followed by an hour and a half of Ed Schultze, Hannity, followed by Alec Baldwin, and so on...
When the Lib Dems realize that Americans are turning their radios off or switching to "All Gut Wrenching Love songs, all the time" they will quickly see that it isn't Conservative talk radio that is the problem, it's Liberal BS that America can't stand.
Here is a picture of Inhofe doing his eavesdropping: http://thumbsnap.com/v/Mm1Q5d9X.jpg
Yah, I think liberals underestimate how up in arms we will be if this ever gets close to becoming reality.
WASHINGTON — Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma says he doesn't need an eye exam or a hearing aid and that he clearly remembers hearing Democratic Sens. Barbara Boxer of California and Hillary Clinton of New York talk about the need for a "legislative fix" to curb conservative talk radio.
But Inhofe now says the conversation he overheard took place three years ago, not "the other day," as he told KFI talk radio host John Ziegler on Thursday night.
Boxer early Friday said the Oklahoma senator "needs new glasses or he needs to have his hearing checked" if he thinks he heard her and Clinton having a conversation about talk radio.
After Inhofe clarified his remarks, Boxer's spokeswoman, Natalie Ravitz, added:
"Perhaps he should have his memory checked too. I don't know anyone who thinks three years ago was 'the other day.'"
In an interview with FOX News Friday afternoon, Inhofe asserted that the conversation between Clinton and Boxer took place three years ago, and he brings it up regularly in talking about market-driven media.
From FOX News:

So if Inhofe "stretched" the truth on this story "the other day = 3 years ago?" What else could he have "stretched" about it?
Sorry, Senator Inhofe. Something smells fishy about this.
Well, maybe he did and maybe he didn't, Mrs. Green. Nobody has come forward to suggest that restoring the Fairness Doctrine isn't on the Democrats' wish list for a perfect world. Wikipedia puts it this way:
As of early 2007, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), along with Representatives Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) have announced their support of legislation which would reverse the 1987 FCC decision and restore the Fairness Doctrine. [Hinckley, David (17 January 2007) "Liberals seek to restore Fairness on the air" New York Daily News
# ^ U.S. Rep. Maurice Hinchey, New York Democrat (21 April 2007) "Should U.S. bring back the Fairness Doctrine? YES" Kansas City Star].
And if they wanted it three years ago, does anyone believe that they want it any less today?
They keep this up they'll be headed for a civil war hun!
Hmmm, well gee, Senator Inhofe must not be deaf!
According to my post above this, they really do want to bring back the "Un-Fairness Doctrine"
I am going to catch up with all of you that are posting on this and add links to the post above this, I have been so allergy ridden lately I cant even think straight but I am trying to get back on track here.
Glory be, Montana sure sounds nice around this time of year!!
Uncle Pavian said, "Liberals seek to restore Fairness on the air" New York Daily News.
Since the air is shared by television, does that mean that the TV MSM will have to abide by it too?
Hmmm, that could be interesting...
Good words.
