Sources Say Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. Is 'Senate Candidate No. 5'

Chicago Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., is the anonymous "Senate Candidate No. 5" whose emissaries Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich reportedly offered up to $1 million to name him to the U.S. Senate, federal law enforcement sources tell ABC News.

The politician says he is not a target of the Blagojevich investigation.
According to the FBI affidavit in the case, Blagojevich "stated he might be able to cut a deal with Senate Candidate 5 that provided Rod Blagojevich" with something "tangible up front."

Jackson said this morning he was contacted Tuesday by federal prosecutors in Chicago whom he said "asked me to come in and share with them my insights and thoughts about the selection process."

Jackson said, "I don't know" when asked whether he was Candidate No. 5, but said he was told "I am not a target of this investigation."

Jackson said he agreed to talk with federal investigators "as quickly as possible" after he consulted with a lawyer.

The congressman, a son of the famed civil rights leader, denied that anyone had been authorized to make payments or promises to the governor on his behalf.

Rahm Emanuel In The Middle?
Holy Cow! Didnt he run Barack Obama's Campaign? There is NO WAY Obama didn't talk to the Gov. about this appointment!

Maybe you're on to something. Obama is responsible for it all. He was going to take the million dollars and split it between Farrakhan and Wright.

This is worse than the NY Post and the Enquirer combined.

I hope this whole thing is really a bad joke!

But look at that Governor Guy, He just looks like if he goes down he's taking everyone else down too!

I will be truly sad and shocked for my Country if the 44th President get's impeached before he even get's sworn in!

That's what you're hoping for.
But once again, you have to ask yourself Marie, a guy that would have gone through as much as Obama you really think the thing that is going to bring him down is THAT governor? Who has been corrupt from the day he was sworn in as governor?

Come on, Marie. Try to divorce your deep partisanship just once!

I know so many Republicans like yourself are praying that Obama is either somehow proven to not be a citizen or is impeached prior to the inauguration...but wow! When will it be enough?

I'm sure he will try to take Obama down with him but as has been the case the entire election campaign, he has always been one step ahead.

Obama will never get a day's rest. Every story will somehow be tied to him.

How ironic: then you have a guy like Bush who says, "yeah, we torture and wiretap illegally...whadda ya gonna do about it?" And no one does a damn thing.

You are not seeing the big picture here!

Somehow Obama is going to get thrown under the bus, and that will leave Biden as President!

Who do you think he will pick to be his VP? Hillary!

Then Biden will meet with a tragic accident about 1 year into his administration, and who will be President? Hillary!

And then the Secretary of State would be Santa Claus???

And what if he gets in an accident? Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy? Now that's a tough one.

That one didnt work for ya huh? LOL

This thing truly is getting big though! But who do you think dropped a dime on this whole thing?

It HAD to be the Clinton's!

We haven't heard a PEEP out of either of them!

Dont you find that odd?

No one dropped the dime on this. They didn't have to. The FBI had been investigating this idiot for months because of one of his aides was reported making deals on the side with the governor's approval. They were just wiretapping for other stuff when they caught this whopper on tape.

I'm from Illinois. The last clean politician was Lincoln.

Both Republican and Democrat governors have been as corrupt as the next.

It always ties in to Chicago. The city hijacked state politics at the turn of the 20th century (meat-packing industry).

Sad but true.

But who do you think dropped the dime to begin with, that started the investigation months ago? I think it was someone involved with the Clinton's! I just dont trust 'em.

Yeah, Unfortunately so was my mom, and that's where I had to bury her was in Illinois.

But every time I hear "Chicago" and then I think of Al Capone, and then I wonder how long the government in Illinois has really been corrupt?

It's been corrupt for over 120 years. There are two states: there's Chicago and then there's Illinois.

This will be 3 out of the last 7 governors that have gone to jail. That is mind-boggling.

If Federalists wants to deny that Obama is neck deep in the same sewer of corruption that Blago and the rest of his Chicago cronies are that's his right.

But the personal/political/financial connections between Obama-Blago-Rezko-Emanuel are all well documented.

Emanuel even stated that it was he and Obama who were key players in Blago's gubernatorial bid. And Emanuel took over Blago's house seat.

Obama also has his own history of "pay to play" the Chicago way and his wife Michelle benefiteed financially also after Obama was first elected state senator.

Face it federalist... Obama is almost as corrupt as Blago. Not quite... but almost.

I hope you realize that once Obama gets into the White House more of these skeletons are going to pop out of the closet.

And I'll be there to laugh at you for being so naive and willfully ignorant.

Fed - "No one dropped the dime on this."

Of course not! We have cellphones now. Payphones are soooooo 20th century.

Obama is part of the Chicago Machine and he thinks he can walk into WDC and have his way with the grand old dame. The Washington bureaucracy is going to chew him up and spit him out in little pieces.

Angry Iraqi throws shoes at Bush in Baghdad

President Bush made an unannounced farewell visit Sunday to Baghdad, Iraq, where a man threw shoes at him. In Arab culture, throwing shoes at someone, or sitting so that the bottom of a shoe faces another person, is considered an insult. The man was dragged from the news conference screaming.
