House Ok's Surrender For Troops In Iraq Stabbing Them In The Back

House Votes to Withdraw U.S. Troops From Iraq by Fall 2008

WASHINGTON — House Democrats called for a new direction in Iraq on Friday, passing a measure that would order President Bush to withdraw U.S. combat troops from Iraq by September 2008.

Democrats picked up enough votes to win passage by 218-212 on the $124 billion war spending bill to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. President Bush promises to veto the measure.

“Today, this Congress faces a historic vote. A vote to truly change the direction of the Iraqi conflict,” said Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., just before the vote on the House floor.

Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, also called the vote "historic," urging collegues to vote against the measure.

"Our troops are on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, doing their duty to protect freedom and to end tyranny," House Minority Leader Boehner said. "They're there watching this debate we're having in the House today and wondering, 'Will Congress do its duty? Will Congress stand up and support the mission that I'm in?' "

Rest Of Story Here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here we go, President Bush is set to address the Nation on this bullshit. Get ready to meet President Bush's Veto. What is it going to take to fund the Troops without stabbing them in the back? NO DATE CERTAIN!!! Why tell the enemy when we are going to leave so they can turn Iraq into another terrorist playground and bring this shit back to the USA again? Get tough as hell President Bush you need to NOW!!! Sorry Troops, you will have to wait a bit longer to get the things you need to finish this job thank's to the friggen Democrats!!
UPDATE:
Bush Slams Democrats Over Iraq Timetable
***Watch President Bush's SpeechHere***
WASHINGTON - A sharply divided House voted Friday to order President Bush to bring combat troops home from Iraq next year, a victory for Democrats in an epic war-powers struggle and Congress' boldest challenge yet to the administration's policy.
Just over an hour later, Bush appeared at the White House alongside veterans and family members of troops to accuse Democrats of staging nothing more than political theater that delays the delivery of resources to soliders fighting in Iraq. If the spending bill is not approved and signed into law by April 15, Bush said troops and their families "will face significant disruptions."
"A narrow majority in the House of Representatives abdicated its responsibility by passing a war spending bill that has no chance of becoming law and brings us no closer to getting the troops the resoures they need to do their job," the president said. "These Democrats believe that the longer they can delay funding for our troops, the more likely they are to force me to accept restrictions on our commanders, an artificial timetable for withdrawal and their pet spending projects. This is not going to happen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesus Christ!! Cant we just get the Troops funded? I advise anyone who cares about getting the Troops funded to call Nancy Pelosi's office and tell whoever answers at the switchboard to tell her to just Knock It Off and get the Troops funded and the "Peanut Farmers" can wait for another bill.

Nancy Pelosi's Office In Washington: 1-202-225-4965

The amount of pork loaded into this bill is astounding!! And now our Troops and thier families will have to wait to get thier money. This is only hurting our Military and thier families and the Country for that matter and wasting time when Our Troops could be finishing this job faster and come home faster when this mission is completed. I cant believe this, Peanut Farmers?

This is unconstitutional and morally wrong.Congress has no control over military strategy or deployment and this bill usurps the authority given in the Constitution to the CIC.

Aditionally theu are playing games with funding needed to better supply, protect and allow our troops the full means to fight.

They care only about power and politics. Protecting our nation and supporting the troops, though they claim it in ridiculous sound bites, is the furthest thing from their liberal feeble minds.

Ken,

I sure hope you are right. I hope to God this bill never sees the light of day after the Senate gets done with it.

How can these Democrats possibly sleep at night knowing they just held up funding for our Troops? Basically if they dont get funded by April 15th they are stuck out there with nothing for them or thier families.

Talk about backstabbing sons of bitches.

Excuse my language but I am so damn pissed off I can see straight!

Anonymouse: Nice try.

But there is nothing in Marie's statement:

"Why tell the enemy when we are going to leave so they can turn Iraq into another terrorist playground and bring this shit back to the USA again?"

That implies Saddam's Iraq was responsible for 9/11.

Are you totally clueless about the Al Queda currently in Iraq who have declared it the cornerstone of their plan to establish a global caliphate from which to attack the U.S.?

Perhaps you should read Ayman Al Zawahiri's statements on the subject as well as those of the now deceased Zarqawi.

And Zarqawi, WHO WAS IN IRAQ before we invaded would still be there.

Also, even Democrats on the 9/11 Commission concede that Saddam and Al Queda has multiple contacts which included weapons, training as well as possible sanctuary for bin Laden.

Iraq IS the central front in the war on terror despite your fevered delusions to the contrary.

P.S. Thanks Marie for getting rid of the squiggly line word verification thingee. I'll take your recommendation regarding comment moderation under advisement. But changing to an open posting would mean reading MORE of the idiocy of fools like anonymouse and worse, MUCH worse.

Take it to them Marie. We cannot afford to let unanswered lies and misinformation be perpetrated as truth any longer. The dems have 233 votes to Republican 202, that means 15 dems jumped nancy's quickly sinking ship and swam for the saftey of sanity. Her power is teetering and as you know it won't take too much more to make it collapse like a house of cards.

The dems are trying to cutoff the funds for the troops by stonewalling because they know the American people will not not stand for their antics much longer. The dems are living off of borrowed time and it's time to stop their clock.

*****************

News Flash for you! I never said Iraq had anything to do with 9-11. However I do know Zarqowi was in Iraq after we banged him up pretty good in Afghanistan for an operation. Gee I wonder why that was?

What I was saying is if the Soldiers pull out now before the Iraqi's are ready to handle thier own security and Al-Queda knows what date and time we are leaving what do you think will happen?

Grow a brain!

The Terrorists will move in, completely take over, turn Iraq into another terrorist playground, and they will be able to plot and plan terrorist activities all over again and eventually we will have another 9-11 OR WORSE!! In essence bringing it back to our shores again!

Oh not to mention the Iraqi's which you people pretend to care so much about will be suffering at the hands of the terrorists that will move back in and God only knows what will be happening to the Iraqi's after that. Like you really care. PLEASE!!!

That is the reality if we give a date certain for withdrawl or not finish the mission before it has a positive end. Or we will be right back over there again. The reports coming from Iraq with the recent Troop surge is quite positive, violence has dropped 1/3rd already and the other 5 Brigades havent even entered theatre yet. So while this Surge is working those in Congress and the those protesting our Troops are moaning and whining and want them to pull out right this minute, the Surge is working and our mission is being completed and those who want to micromanage the war are full of shit!

When the Soldiers and the Commanders on the ground say thier job is done then it's done and not one minute before. It's going to be done right and successfully so we dont have to do all this all over again. This is NOT going to be micromanaged from Congress.

This is going to be completed by the President and the Soldiers and Commanders on the ground PERIOD!

No matter how much you bitch and whine about it.

Get over this insane way of thinking you have and let the Troops finish the mission. They will come home alot faster without you barking and moaning and Congress holding up thier money so they and thier families have to suffer while thier lives are being fooled around with by Congress.

People like you need to be slapped right along with the rest of the Democrats and fools that dont understand how dangerous this is for our Troops and our Country!

Iraq is no longer a war. The president declared the combat operations over nearly four years ago. This is an occupation, call it what it is. We are just holding it together until they can.

This president had congress in his pocket for six years. It is time for him to make tough decisions like most presidents have. I doubt he will be able to do it.

And why oh why does anyone trust this president with Iraq plans? Nothing but nothing has been as he predicted! Why not let Congress decide? The parliment does it for England and they have been with us from day one.

I explained this already up there ^^ to another one of your left wing lunatic buddies. But for the sake of setting you people straight for the umpteenth time,

What do you figure will happen when we leave Iraq without the Iraqi's being able to take care of thier own security? Can we say Afghanistan all over again? With someone probably worse than Bin Laden plotting and planing another attack on the US? Get a grip dude! That's exactly what will happen if we leave this minute.

Iraq is no longer a war. The president declared the combat operations over nearly four years ago. This is an occupation, call it what it is. We are just holding it together until they can.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The President declared MAJOR Combat operations over 4 years ago (The Removal of the Saddam Regime)
That was the origional goal.
This has been a war since 9-11, on terrorists as a whole, and Saddam was one. Were you absent when the President said "You cannot run, you cannot hide, we will find you and bring you to justice"? Or did you just convieniently forget all this because you are on the "Lets bring them home NOW" bandwagon without thinking of the consequences?
This president had congress in his pocket for six years. It is time for him to make tough decisions like most presidents have. I doubt he will be able to do it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry you are so misinformed, this President unlike his predecessor, doesnt run from these Lunatics and want's to put an end to terrorism NOW!! He like we are getting sick to death of being attacked.

And why oh why does anyone trust this president with Iraq plans? Nothing but nothing has been as he predicted! Why not let Congress decide? The parliment does it for England and they have been with us from day one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because it isnt in the Constitution to let the Congress whom you cant trust to rub two nickles together micromanage a war.
It's up to the Troops themselves and the commanders on the ground, when they say the job is done the President will let us know. You dont know much about the Military do you?
Finally, if "the terrorists" do take over Iraq one day it will only be one person's fault - the president. If we had contained Saddam instead of invading, none of this would be a problem. Just like Powell said, Bush broke it - Bush owns it.
You people are unreal, you will NEVER get it, and this is getting old and tired. Dont come at me with this bullshit again until you can do something besides Blame Bush for the problems the terrorists started to begin with.
Keeping us in Iraq ain't working.
Oh yeah. And this bill? Well...the money that's in it doesn't go to my paycheck. The money in this bill gets turned straight into new roads for the Iraqis, new buildings for the terrorists, all kinds of shit. The money for us and our families is different, and guaranteed already.
Notwithstanding subsection (a)(6) of section 1307 of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (7 U.S.C. 7957), there is hereby appropriated $74,000,000, to remain available until expended, for the payment of storage, handling, and other associated costs for the 2007 crop of peanuts to ensure proper storage of peanuts for which a loan is made under such section. Of such amount, $74,000,000 shall be available only on or after September 30, 2007, and only so long as an Act to provide for the continuation of agricultural programs for fiscal years after 2007, including such section 1307, is not enacted.
Okay, so a question here:
"That the amount provided under this heading is designated as making appropriations for contingency operations directly related to the global war on terrorism, and other unanticipated defense-related operations,"
What do the words "contingency operations" and "unanticipated defense-related operations" mean to you? Because the money distributed under that phrase is strictly, solely, and only going to pay for arming those worthless Iraqi "police". My paycheck? That doesn't need to be funded. The Army has it's own budget that pays for the normal essentials. New things, like going out and building new schools that some terrorist blew up, that's what this money goes to.
So anyways. EITHER you support the Troops, or you oppose this bill and you'd like us to not fight in Iraq anymore. 'cause frankly, the only way to get money to keep shooting people out there is this very bill.
And I'm not anonymous. My name is Army Sergeant Joel R. Thompson.
One last thing. Read that last bit about the peanuts more carefully. It's a loan. It comes back with INTEREST. The government is MAKING MORE MONEY to fight terror with that.
You really must get some rest before blowing your top completely.
I never voted for Clinton, I never wish that I had. The guy was a scumbag. I voted Republican since Reagan until the chimp took over and starting spending more money than any president in history and quit guarding the border. I have a blog which you can see clicking on my blogger name where I am calling for Chuck Hagel to run for President and I have also begged people twice not to vote for Hillary. I am a republican like it or not, but I, unlike most Bush supporters do not change my values to fit the party or the president. The reasons that you wanted no troops in Kosovo are the same reasons that the chimp has men and women (including my family members) in Iraq today. You are the hipocrit, not me. Containment of Saddam WAS working. Since the good Bush president put the clamps on Saddam he has not been able to fart without our raining cruise missles on his head. How did containment fail us?
Had he gassed his people since the 80s? No!
Had he reconstitued his Bio Med labs? No!
Had he started a new Nuke program? No!
Had he invaded or in any credible way threatened any of his heighbors? No!
The UN - please. When else do we let the UN tell us what to do? Never.
And I laughed out loud when you brought up Osama! Clinton should have gotten him? Absoultely. He had him cornered in the mountains of Afganistan. But don't you think that is true of Bush too? He pulled all the most valuable resources and funding out of Afganistan and six months later said he doesn't really think about Osama anymore. Brilliant lead you fake Republicans have latched onto... When the next GOP President doubles the money spent on Welfare I guess you will all nod your head in agreement because you don't care what the president does as long as he is from the right party.
What does Bush do that is like Reagan? Here is a clue - absolutely nothing. Reagan left Lebanon when it became a civil war. Reagan cut spending. Reagan hired outsiders to advise him, even Bush 41 to be his veep after Bush used the VooDoo economics line.
And anyone that thinks what is going on today in Iraq is a war is deluded. The only kind of war that you could claim is a civil war and we can only be bystanders in a civil war. It is their war not ours. And if you are concerned that Iraq is going to become the next Afganistan you needn't worry, there already is one in Iran. They train more terrorists for Hezbollah than Osama ever trained for Al Qaeda, and now the Ummahs of Iran are training more and more young men because they are sick of watching our tanks roll up and down the streets of Iraq.
No matter if we have a Lunatic in there or not, (And I'm not reffering to President Bush) I even regarded Clinton whom I NEVER voted for either, in the highest regard because I am on THIS Country's side regarless of who is in that office.
After they are gone I can say what I want but while they are occupying that office they will get my respect! PERIOD!!
The PRESIDENT didnt have alot of choice in spending money now did he? He had to create a whole new branch of Government "Homeland Security" and in order to chase down the bad guys so we dont get Friggen attacked again, it COSTS MONEY!! You really think he wanted all this? You really believe that?
And President Bush came up with a plan for our borders, but our do nothing Congress didnt pass anything. And the "Now" do nothing Congress isnt either. Funny it is, how you believe we should spend money on border security, but not spend money on NOT being attacked again and again, that is an assinine statement.
CHUCK HAGEL???? That do nothing son of a bitch? HELL NO!!! He isnt even pro defense!!! God help us all if that's who you are supporting, however he doesnt stand a rats chance in hell. And SCREW HILLARY!!
I am a republican like it or not, but I, unlike most Bush supporters do not change my values to fit the party or the president. The reasons that you wanted no troops in Kosovo are the same reasons that the chimp has men and women (including my family members) in Iraq today. You are the hipocrit, not me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You may be a Conservative but you arent even close to being a Republican.

There is a time for us Conservatives to give a little so we wont get attacked repeatedly, GOD, arent you sick of it?

I dont destroy my values either and one of them and every Republican's is Pro-Defense. I dont jump on the "I hate Bush Bandwagon", just because it seems the polular thing to do doesnt mean it's the right thing to do.

I use the Kosovo arguement as a backup for all you whining idiots that protest the war and how this President is fighting it, because the rest of you fools have no clue what to do about it, and this President is the ONLY one that has!
Still no plan out of you Lunatics.

Speaking of Iraq you are not the only one with family in Iraq dumbass, why do thing I am so forcefull about this issue? Who is the Hypocrite now? Until you come at someone with actual family in Iraq maybe you ought to keep your trap shut until you find out the facts first!! Who is the Hypocrite now jackass?

Containment of Saddam WAS working. Since the good Bush president put the clamps on Saddam he has not been able to fart without our raining cruise missles on his head. How did containment fail us?
Had he gassed his people since the 80s? No!
Had he reconstitued his Bio Med labs? No!
Had he started a new Nuke program? No!
Had he invaded or in any credible way threatened any of his heighbors? No!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Containment of Saddam was working since when? When he gassed the Kurds? When he gassed the Iranians? When he sent scud missiles into Israel? When he aquired WMD and dont you dare tell me he didnt have them because he used them!! When he invaded Kuwait? NO!! All this took place in the late '80's early 90's in case you forgot and he had ALL the intelligence from ALL over the WORLD believeing he was trying to aquire a Nuke, I will give you this much, we ALL were wrong, EVERYONE, not just us, the intelligence from all over the THE WORLD! Yet he did try to aquire Yellow Cake from Nigeria and was turned down by the Nigerians. But that's neither here nor there now. You better get your facts a little bit straighter when it comes to this matter.
The UN - please. When else do we let the UN tell us what to do? Never.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The UN are useless now. We used to listen to them till we found out they were right in the middle of the "Oil For Food Scandal", another little diddy that would have never been uncovered had we not gone into Iraq.

And I laughed out loud when you brought up Osama! Clinton should have gotten him? Absoultely. He had him cornered in the mountains of Afganistan. But don't you think that is true of Bush too? He pulled all the most valuable resources and funding out of Afganistan and six months later said he doesn't really think about Osama anymore. Brilliant lead you fake Republicans have latched onto... When the next GOP President doubles the money spent on Welfare I guess you will all nod your head in agreement because you don't care what the president does as long as he is from the right party.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm glad you found Clinton not getting Usama so funny. However Clinton had 14 chances to get Usama and was to busy poking Monica to be bothered with any of it. Clinton didnt even have Monica cornered let alone Usama.
Bush NEVER pulled resourses out of Afganistan, we can walk and chew gum at the same time you know. Just ask whomever you have in the Military. I'm quite sure they agree with me. And look at you somewhat like you are are senseless.
Fake Republicans? YOU are the fake Republican idiot. Welfare? Are you friggen serious? We have bigger fish to fry than to fund all this living off the Government with entitlements.
I am pro-defense like it or leave it. I am not into paying everyone elses way, only paying the Troops, and funding Homeland Security. The rest of the Bullshit can be debated another time. I care about what THIS President does, he has seen us through the nightmare of 9-11 and he doesnt want another one and neither does ANY Republican I know, especially those I have in the Military. My loved ones serving in Iraq know what's at stake, and they CHOSE to be there! Dont forget this is an ALL VOLUNTEER MILITARY Dumbass!!
What does Bush do that is like Reagan? Here is a clue - absolutely nothing. Reagan left Lebanon when it became a civil war. Reagan cut spending. Reagan hired outsiders to advise him, even Bush 41 to be his veep after Bush used the VooDoo economics line.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Maybe had we not been attacked on 9-11 Bush would have been alot more like Reagan, but you remember they brought this bullshit to OUR shores, and they are going to pay for it regardless of how much you whine and cry about it.

And anyone that thinks what is going on today in Iraq is a war is deluded. The only kind of war that you could claim is a civil war and we can only be bystanders in a civil war. It is their war not ours. And if you are concerned that Iraq is going to become the next Afganistan you needn't worry, there already is one in Iran. They train more terrorists for Hezbollah than Osama ever trained for Al Qaeda, and now the Ummahs of Iran are training more and more young men because they are sick of watching our tanks roll up and down the streets of Iraq.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Like I said before you dont get it, you are not a Republican.
You dont understand the consequences of what we are up against and you never will. You just think Bush is out there throwing money out the window needlessly when all the man has ever tried to do is protect us and he is going to continue to protect us and you can bitch and moan and whine till the cows all come home but it isnt going to change the fact they we are in a fight for our right to exist, if we leave Iraq now Al-Queada will take over and they will plot and plan to make another 9-11 possible or WORSE!!
Ummahs???? Dont you mean Mullahs??
You are wasting your type on me. You are not going to change my mind, this arguement is old and tired, and you need to move on and have a debate with someone who will actually fall for your bullshit. Because your in the wrong store and I aint buying!!
No I meant Ummah silly - the term "Islamic Ummah" or "Muslim Ummah" to refer to all the people in the lands and countries where Muslims predominantly reside - from Wikipedia. Maybe some one who knows so little should not try and tell others what they are or are not.
Every reason you list to in regard to Saddam was from prior to establishing the No Fly Zone. So you must agree with me that we did not need to invade because we did have him contained. Thanks for making my point.
Bush could never, ever have been Reagan. To suggest so is to admit that you know nothing about Reagan. THanks for making that point for me too.
CentFla,
You have gone so far beyond the point of this post, which was this Horrid Bill the Democrats are trying to squeak out, that you have gone through every war since 1980 and then some.
This is unreal.
This ISSS the reason I Hate Liberals!!
Sgt Tompson,
(Assuming for the moment that's who you really are)
As you can tell I get a ton of freaks and weirdos.
If you are who you say you are Thank You for Your Service to Our Country first and foremost.
I know your pay is set and approved by the DOD. But the funding for all the machinery needed to help the US Military is in this bill!
I know President Bush is going to Veto this piece of shit, and wait for a bill he can sign.
C'mon, PEANUT STORAGE!?!?!
So what is your MOS?
Are you an E-6?
I just support the Troops and that's it and that's all!
American soldier, you say the surge isn't working? Are you in Iraq? here is a site you should go to if you don't think the surge is working:
http://roryhanlin.blogspot.com/2007/03/its-working.html
Please don't make a comment on his site if you still think the surge isn't working. Lt Hanlin needs support, not dissension:
