TROOPS IN IRAQ EXPRESS FRUSTRATION WITH "MEDIA" TO SEAN HANNITY
Troops in Iraq Express Frustration with
the Media to Hannity
The bravest and most patriotic of Americans, those who see first hand what goes on in Iraq, can see the liberal bias in the media. On Monday's Hannity & Colmes, co-host Sean Hannity recounted from his recent trip to Iraq how many in uniform there feel the media paint a grimmer picture than the reality on the ground. Hannity first offered this comment when talking with Oliver North reporting from Ramadi, Iraq and later in the program FNC showed video of a soldier in Mosul who complained: "The bottom line is that from we hear what is being said in the media back home, but we're here and we see a totally different side of what's happening."
To North, Hannity recalled what he observed on his trip with Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld: "You know Colonel, one of the things without fail, wherever the Secretary went, he was greeted like a rock star. I mean, the troops love him. And the one theme that kept coming back to me, and they watched TV regularly, they've had Fox News on almost everywhere I went, is that the media was not portraying this accurately, and they did mentioned, quite often, the disdain and the disgust at the portrayal of, of their efforts and the politics that's going on behind here in America. I assume that, this now your eighth trip to Iraq, you're hearing a lot of the same thing."
Later in the show, Hannity played his taped discussions with U.S. troops in Mosul. There, one soldier spoke up on the media portrayal of the situation in Iraq.
U.S. soldier: "The bottom line is that from we hear what is being said in the media back home, but we're here and we see a totally different side of what's happening."
Hannity: "Explain that. What's the difference between what people hear at home and what's happening here?"
U.S. soldier: "A good example: This past Tuesday we went out to the city to deliver school supplies to children."
Hannity: "And we're in Mosul just so people know.
U.S. soldier: "And the Iraqi Army actually provided our security for us. We didn't have any problems. The locals, they were, you know, they were a little bit shy and nervous but, you know, absolutely-"
Hannity: "So that sort of transition is happening successfully."
Soldier: "Oh yeah, oh yeah."

WAKE UP PEOPLE! The news media is NOT portraying the reality of what is really going on in Iraq. This is who I want to hear from the Soldiers themselves. Now someone like Nutjob Arianna Huffington would have everyone believe this was all propaganda, but she cant BECAUSE THIS CAME STRAIGHT FROM THE TROOPS MOUTHS! Watch the videos of the Troops with Hannity and see what the Troops are saying! The Media want's us to lose this war and are trying everything they can to make sure that happens. It is up to US to stop them! We OWE it to the Troops!

I will be the first to comment wee hee!
After watching the Video with the Troops with Hannity in Mozul, Michale Moore, Arianna Huffington, all the nay sayer's and expecially John Kerry can stuff thier opinions up thier keester's!
GO LOOK AT THE VIDEO!
Kerry is going to Iraq this weekend. He says troops there understood what he meant when he flubbed a joke about students who don't study hard getting "stuck in Iraq."
I wonder if the troops frustration will get Kerry stuck in Iraq?

Watching the Christmas You Tube it appears the traditional "Angel" must have broken loose from atop the tree.
The media is doing the exact same thing in Iraq as it did in Vietnam. They portryed Americans and our troops as the bad guys night after night. This is how the liberals work. The make up lie after lie and keep repeating them over and over again and soon enough people strt believing them. The prime example is this last election and this Congress will be the most ethical Congress there has ever been when the media knew and now has confirmed that this could not be any further from the truth. The media is definitely truth challenged.
One more example that I am always remided of when talking about the truth challenged media. During the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam the media portrayed the attacks as a huge defeat for American troops. This was one of the biggest lies ever told. The North Vietnamese attacks were a complete failure tactically and had it not been for the American press the Communists would have to admit this was a complete and utter defeat for them. Instead the press kept telling the american public that the war was lost and we should pull our troops out. Sound familiar?

LOL@ this Angel in the Tree thing
JG,
I LOVE your wit on these matters!
All the lies, the doctored photo's, this just keep's going on unchallenged except from us on the right!
We have to get this message out to people that actually believe the media's nonsense.
I've listened to alot of this on Hannity's radio show and have heard it first hand from dozens of troops that I have met and they all express the same thought. In fact one I know stated that he did not have any fear of the out come or what was happening in Iraq until he got home and saw the media coverage and its left slant and negativism without any positive and it was then that he feared that the troops would lose the backing of the country for the war. You know the MSM and the liberals have succeded in turning the country against the war because they refuse to report the truth and are only interested in body counts. Its a shame that are soldiers are sacrificing their lives for freedom and all the liberals and MSM see are statistics in body counts and a political football to use for their own advantage.
Mega-excellent post, Marie,
And completely on-point. I've said this before and will say it again:
The media enjoys priveleges of access the average citizen does not. In return for these priveleges, we should, at the very least, be entitled to unbiased news reporting. What columnists say is one thing, they are paid for their opinions, but what is represented as news should be just that, not leftist propaganda ala Pravda circa the USSR.
IMO, if the media is not going to be forthright in their reporting, choosing instead to use their position to fulfill a political agenda, the above mentioned access priveleges should be revoked.
Excellent post, Marie. The media has the potential of making us lose this war more than anything.
Keep driving that nail in home. They deserve all the criticism we can fling their way, and then some.
The Press at War from Opinion Journal is among the best reads I've seen on the agenda-driven media and its detrimental effect on losing wars.
Ken,
Same thing I hear from the Troops!
It is going to be up to us to post the good news comming from Iraq because NO BODY else is going to!
Those Troops are doing a tremendous job over there and thier story is NOT being told.
WE have to tell it!
Seth,
Thank You!
Yes Lord have mercy the Left wing Loones and thier propaganda need to be stopped.
But like I said, it's up to us to get this news out because the MSM isnt going to! Except FOX. Thank God for Hannity and Ollie North!
Oh yes by all means I wish someone would revoke thier press crdentials if they arent going to report BOTH sides of the story.
Fat Chance of that happening.
But we sure can catch them in the act if they lie and Doctor Photos!
We have to stay on these Lunatic's asses!!

Thank You!
I am all over it. I am going to shove the media's lack of coverage of what the Troops are really saying and what's really going on over in Iraq right up everyone's ass until someone listens!!
I will have to make it over to "Opinion Journal" sometime today and check them out.
