No More Reports/Let Them Finish The Job

CENTCOM Blogger Interviews Soldier In Iraq

Blogger Frank Warner interviews U.S. Army Capt. Eric Coulson, Commander of A Company, 321 Engineer Battalion, based in Ar Ramadi, al-Anbar Province, Iraq.

..........................Frank Warner

“I think there are as many opinions as there are Soldiers. Some are here to do their duty merely as Soldiers; others have a deep belief in the mission. I have no doubts about the need to build a democracy in Iraq, and have no doubt we can be successful given the time and patience to do so.”

Troops Out By Early 2008...

Bush pledges to act in 'timely fashion'...

Pelosi's new intel chairman wants MORE troops deployed...

Excerpts...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I too tend to agree with Our President, The Commanders on the ground, Oliver North, and our fine Military. They know BETTER THAN ANYONE what is going on there and if the Troops themselves want to complete this mission by God they ought to have the opportunity to do so. Everyone can sit here in the comfort of our living rooms and watch bombs exploding all day and think this is not worth it, but if Our Troops think it is? Then let them do what they do best!! You cant fly into Baghdad and spend a few days there and think you know what's going on, ONLY the Troops on the ground, and the commanders in the field know what is happening. NO MORE REPORTS...LET THE TROOPS FINISH THE JOB SO THEY CAN COME HOME WITH THE HONOR AND RESPECT THEY DESERVE!
UPDATE:
So basicaly what the Iraq Study Group says is pretty much what President Bush has been saying all along. And It's time for the Country to come together and get behind our Troops so they can win this. Interesting comments from some on the Panel:
Lee Hamilton: "It's Daunting in Iraq, but ALL is by all means NOT Lost"
Sandra Day O'Conner: "It's up to you, the news media to bring this Country together on this"
A report written by people that never saw anything more of Iraq than the drive by media. Phew!! What's next from the anything but victory thinking? I watched John Kerry this morning while flipping through the channels. At least Americans were right not to chose that loser for president. What a characterless nothing of a man.
It's time to bare down and finish the job and be done with it. No surrender, no capitulation, no appeasement. Win, victory are the only acceptable terms!!!
TLLTCT,
AMEN Indeed!!
I say if the Troops want to finish this then let them!
All the reports in the World wont change the fact the Troops know what they need to do to finish this. Let's let the Troops and the President decide what needs to be done!
JG,
How can you stand to listen to that man? lol
His voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard!
Wasnt it Winston Churchill that said "Victory, Victory at all costs"?
I say if the Troops want to achieve Victory do we not owe it to them to achieve it?
Yes it was Marie, but the Leftist Commies today act more like Neville Chamberlain in their appeasement mode.
Night,
Isnt this awful?
Neville Chamberlain indeed.
I am not interested in appeasement. I am interested in making sure those that want to kill us never make it to our shores!
Our Troops deserve more than they are getting and the Neville Chamberlain's out there need to hush up.
These reports need to stop, and our Commanders on the ground and our Troops need to be able to complete this mission. Every report is going to be different than the next one and that's all we need now is total confusion!
You are right Night.
Marie, I don't mean to startle you, but if you think that the Leftist Commies on the East Coast are a big problem you should check this link out, this is out of San Francisco and Berkley California. Zombie Hall Of Shame Marie I really don't know what to say but it's not looking so good.
I just heard on Michael Savage that, Robert Gates the new defense secretary his law firm has connections to Saudi Arabia which really makes things look really bad.
It's time for all of us good Christians to get on our knees and do some serious praying asking for help because we need it more than ever now.
Night,
I wouldnt get to excited over this those freaks at Berkley are idiots!
Those Pictures are quite sickening.
If there was any Saudi connections to Gates I'm sure the Liberal Lunatic's would have dug that up. He was head of the CIA at one time.
I'm still mad that Rummy got tossed overboard but I seriously think the man just wanted to go home. He's as old as my Dad! Who unfortunately lives in California.
I am not real thrilled with Gates but I do trust President Bush's judgement. We will just have to trust the man and see how things go.
I pray for President Bush every single day. Boy if any body on the planet needs a prayer it's him!
Night,
I was thinking, if Gates Law Firm has Saudi connections it might not be all that bad, he may have represented Saudi's at one time or another or something.
If it was anything that bad I'm sure we would have heard about it.
Just as long as Gates isnt a Muslim lol.
Marie things are that bad and worse. I was just on several other sites and there are a lot of people who are very upset about the ISG Baker-Lee Hamilton report.
Here is a small snippet of one of the blogs that support Israel as I sure do too.
The ISG Baker-Lee Hamilton report is vile. It should be burned. Who died and made Baker king? Who is he to give away the Golan Heights.? It is Israeli property. Why would we even consider rewarding states that sponsor terror? States funding the insurgency and killing our boys in Iraq? States that vow to annihilate the Jews. Islamic fundamentalist states.
What I am saying is that the Liberals are going to take every opportunity to turn and twist things to stick up for the Palestinian Terrorist Groups and the heck with the Israelis. Just like Jimmah Carter the Terrorist Supporter Did.
Okay. Seriously. Can you tell us what needs to happen to determine the job is done or finished? Tell me when we'll know that.
What do you mean "no capitulation, no appeasement?"
We went into Iraq to liberate them from a dictator who held that made-up country together with an iron fist. As soon as Saddam was gone, the country split into its three factions.
Then outside factions (al Qaeda) and other terrorists came pouring into the border to add to the mayhem.
How do you believe our 140,000 troops will contain that coutry and "win?" What will a win look like?
Do you honestly believe the Sunnis and the Shiites will kiss and make up after hundred years of hating and killing each other? You think that a US military will force them to make nice?
I make this observation: You guys think of liberals as the devil incarnate and as responsible for all evils and rot in this country. I'm older than you and Marie, and let me tell you this, that's not how Republicans and Democrats thought of each other when I was a kid. This has happened only in the last generation--this viseral hatred between Americans who are of a different political party. You detest your fellow Americans with an unreasonable rage (my opinion) that would make it impossible to reconcile.
What makes anyone think that we can change a hatred and viseral rage that is a thousand years old? Should we kill every last Iraqi? And then what? Give them a free, independent and democratic empty desert?
Americans hate with avengence their fellow citizens because of political differences--can you imagine the depth of hatred that the Sunnis and Shiites have for each other because of their religious differences?
Will Iraq split into three countries? Will the Sunnis and Shiites reconcile?
What is victory in Iraq? What?
Oh ok I thought you were talking about Gates!
I agree I dont think we need ANY other report's except from the Commanders on the ground!
True, Baker and Hamilton went a little overboard with giving the Golan Height's away without even consulting Israel lol. I'm sure Israel would like to be consulted about this, I cant help it as I am typing this I am laughing because that was one of the most rediculous statements I have ever heard.
And talking to Syria and Iran for help? That's like asking a couple of arsonist's if they want to join the Fire Dept!
However it wouldnt hurt to throw a bone thier way and see if they bite! Get them on record one way or another now that I agree with, getting them on record. That way if they DONT help the world will look at them and see that THEY are the ones that didnt act and we can say "At least we tried"! (To talk) And whatever consequenses come after that it will be the fault of Syria and Iran!
If the Liberals try to twist this the way of the Hamas or Hezblahhhh, and try to screw Israel there will be PUBLIC OUTCRY! And there is NO way President Bush is going to put of with that nonsense.
As for Jimmy Carter one of his top aides has jumped ship on that Lunatic saying most of his newly released book was MADE UP! Look's like Jimmy is full of crap AGAIN!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know this comment was meant for JG, but the plan has always been to have a Government in Iraq than can Govern itself, Sustain itself and Defend herself.

This Government has only been in power for 6 months!

I will say that the big mistake was made disbanding the Iraqi army and having to start completely from scratch! However it might have not been a mistake if you look at it from another point of view, the Iraqi army was totally loyal to Saddam so they would have been useless! Sooooooo starting from scratch and weeding out all the bad apples from the bunch maybe has been the best thing that could have happened, however it takes alot longer to establish! But you have to give them a bit of credit and half a chance here. They arent running away from battles anymore, and watching Oliver North on the ground with the troops I saw and heard a few Iraqi cop cars with thier sirens going which is good news!

I know how frustrating this whole thing is, I get frustrated constantly, it seems like the progress isnt going fast enough, American's have NEVER been able to tolerate a LONG war. But if the Troops themselves say there is hope and they see an end to all this, and who would know better than the Troops and the Commanders on the ground? And if they say THEY want to complete the mission, who are we really to sy NO? We arent over there! All we see is "Another car bomb went off today" so on and so on from the news but we never see the opening of a new school, hospital, etc.

Only the Troops and the Commanders on the ground will know when the job is complete. And they will tell President Bush, and then they will come home. But a set timetable isnt even feaseable.

Then outside factions (al Qaeda) and other terrorists came pouring into the border to add to the mayhem.

How do you believe our 140,000 troops will contain that coutry and "win?" What will a win look like?

Do you honestly believe the Sunnis and the Shiites will kiss and make up after hundred years of hating and killing each other? You think that a US military will force them to make nice?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well I know you hate to hear this but Al-Queada was already there, remember Zarqowi? He was injured in Afghanistan when we went in there and he went to Iraq for a leg operation?
But you are right his followers came pouring in the borders from Iran after we took out Saddam. I cant argue with that, those borders should have been secured, but I honestly dont think even the Military had thought that was going to happen, but they should have suspected something like that may happen and secured those borders.
The fall of Baghdad happened so fast and was so brilliant in strategy I think it overwhelemed everybody.
Now about the 140,000 Troops, you have to remember there are almost 400,000 Iraqi Troops trained and they will be hitting the borders. A win will look like a government that can take care of it's own self in the way's I described above.
The US Military wont be the ones to make the Suni's and Shiite's settle thier crap down that will have to come from the Iraqi Government itself! This has to have an Iraqi face on it. If you give this new fledgeling Government a chance and let our Troops take care of this and dont forget about the coalition forces let them all take care of this, you will see they will be our ally and eventually will be a peaceful partner in the world!
I make this observation: You guys think of liberals as the devil incarnate and as responsible for all evils and rot in this country. I'm older than you and Marie, and let me tell you this, that's not how Republicans and Democrats thought of each other when I was a kid. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Liberals are the devil incarnate and responsible for all evils and rot in this country. lol (I'm kidding you know)
And how do you know you are older than I? lol I could be 66 for all you know.
The only reason I act like I do is because of all the attacks that were forced upon us ever since Bush has become President! I mean for real you guys have slung enough mud to make a million huts for those in the Philipines! You guys have called us and our President Incompetant, we never worked an honest day in our lives, we stole the election, Bush is a murderer, Bush planned 9-11, Bush is a baby killer, Bush is Hitler, etc, etc, etc, us Republicans are every single name in the book to you guys. I have looked over at Huffpo before I have seen the hate and the Vitriol that you guys spew over there. And we are suppose to let all that go overnight? AFTER 6 FRIGGEN YEARS OF THIS CRAP? YOU CANT BE SERIOUS!! If you guys stop with all the attacks maybe we will too. I mean you guys just won an election, must the crap still go on? Really?
I am just saying you cant expect 6 years of being called name after name that isnt even close to being the truth cease to exist overnight!
If I have been short with you a bit lately Mrs Green I sure havent meant to be, I have been on medication ever since my arm almost was broken, and I am bitchy! You caught me in a half way decent mood right now lol.
I will leave the rest of this post for JG..
Marie,
I've said it before. I've always believed you are a decent person.
We can crack our heads on our differences. And your head is probably harder than mine! So I'll be on the head smashing end of the deal. LOL!
I want to see a good outcome from this Iraq situation just as you do.
I just don't know how it will happen.
I've been on medication, too, these past few months. It doesn't matter why, but in a few more months, I, too, will be out of the proverbial woods.
I hope you're feeling better.
And I really DO believe I'm older than you!
PS. I'd like to embed a YouTube video on G. Verdi's music in my Verdi blog. Don't know how to do it. Suggestions?
Thanks.
Mrs Green,
I dont know you have a pretty hard head yourself lol.
I am glad to hear you want a good solution to the Iraq situation, we all do. It's tough, but if we can just hang in there Our Soldiers Know what they are doing and I do believe that's why President Bush flew to go meet up with PM Maliki to tell him in his own way face to face that we wont be there much longer and the Iraqi's have to get it together too.
I know it's rough hanging in there but I think if we ALL came together and supported our Troops and let them do what they do best we will have a Great outcome to this. Keep the faith!
Oh man the whole blogosphere seems to be on medication at the moment lol, is it the Holiday's? Is everybody falling off ladders hanging Christmas light's or something? Geez!
I am feeling better somewhat Thank You, I was going nut's with my arm in the sling. But it sure is taking it's sweet time healing grr.
If you are looking at my profile it's suppose to say 39 lol, I will look at it and make sure it does, I have been 39 for a long time and I will continue to be 39 again next year lol.
About the YouTube, if you are on the Youtube site look to the right of the Video and you should see a top and bottom code, copy and paste that code and put that on your post and see if it shows up. If that doesnt work, try the bottom code. That should work. One of the 2 codes should work.
I hope you get to feeling better soon also :-)
Well to begin with Mrs Green, I never believed we had enough troops in Iraq after we took down Saddam Hussein. We initialy had enough troops and support but manpower has definitely been lacking ever since. I am not afraid to say that I have had a difference of opinion on tactics from Mr Rumsfeld since the intial take down, I have never hidden that fact from anyone.
A win in Iraq will look like a government that will be able to defend itself from it's neighbors, provide basic services to their people and be able to maintain a stable civilian governance that has control over it's army. Simple and basic things at the beginnig. It's not going to happen overnight as everyone would wish it to be but in order for us to claim a victory we will be able to leave Iraq in a better condition than when we first came there.
