What's At Stake For America Nov 7? Let's Examine: Charlie Rangel

Today's Feature Is Charlie Rangel

...............................Charlie Rangel D-NY

(If Elected)
Charlie Rangel Would be Head Of The House Ways And Means Committee

Which means for the next 2 years he would vote along with Nancy Pelosi and John Conyers and the rest of the Liberal Democrats to raise our taxes and take away the child care credit that we get when we have children we can claim on our Income tax. Not to mention the other stuff like Conyers would do, Impeachment, Taking away all our Safeguards to keep this Country Safe, etc..But there is an extra added bonus with Charlie Rangel, Rangel is all for sending MORE Troops to Iraq when we are trying to put an Iraqi face on this so the Iraqi's take over thier own Country soon and we can get out of there. And the first thing on Rangel's agenda will be to re-instate THE DRAFT! Rangel tried this just before the 2004 election, and he will be able to run amuck and try to pass the "Draft Bill" as soon as he could, should he take control.

This is Charlie Rangel. One of the most LIBERAL members of Congress. He is going to raise your taxes also along with Conyers and Pelosi and the Liberal members of Congress and this Lunatic will try to re-instate the Draft and anyone that says he isnt going to do this is lying! Not to mention he will be free to run amuck and screw the Economy up Completely. He will also stuff as much Pork in a bill and try to slide that right up America's ass and think's President Bush wont be the wiser. Rangel has voted NO on the most important issues to the American People that will safeguard this Country from another attack, with the exception of the Safe Port's Bill. Rangel will vote to: Impeach the President, tie up the Country with all that crap for the next 2 years, Take away Intercepting Phone calls from Al-Queda to anyone in this Country and Vise Versa, tieing up OUR Court System with trials for enemy combatant's taken off the battlefield instead of trying them where they should be tried in Military Tribunals, (We are at WAR this is NOT a Police Action anymore) Take away "Data Mining" so we cant track the money that is going to and from Al-Queda all over the world, do away with the Patriot Act that is vital to securing this Country from another attack, and the list goes on and on. JUST SAY NO!!!

The SAFE act had a hidden passage in it to outlaw illegal gambling. What amazes me about that bill is what does online gambling have to do with port security?
The Government is missing out on a big potential for revenue. I am not a supporter of high taxes, but I would rather see taxes come out of gambling winnings than a persons paycheck they worked 40+ hours for.(In my case less than 40 hours because hours were cut for the time being, but I have spent up to 15 hours a day at my job)
Still no matter what a person does for a job whether it is manual labor or an office like position, there was some hardship and grief in earning that paycheck. Why should that be taxes more for the shortcomings of the government.
Federal taxes have dropped, but most states(including mine)raised state income tax.
I know the post had more to do with than just the SAFE act, but something hidden in the bill like than angers me. Downsizedc.org is a huge supporter of "read every bill act." I have a link of it at my blog as well.

Oops, I made an error!!! Wrong usage of words. Where I typed The SAFE act had a hidden passage in it to outlaw illegal gambling was suppost to read The SAFE act had a hidden passage in it to outlaw online gambling instead. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I was waiting for this one Marie! This should be very interesting to you too Pennsy.

Arguably, one of the most powerful people in Washington D.C. is the Chairperson of the House Ways and Means Committee. You don't hear very much about this position but make no mistake this is where all power is derived in Washington D.C.

In the US Constitution Article 1: Section 7: All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.

The Committee assigned to approve or deny legislation to be brought to the floor is, you guessed it, the House ways and Means Committee. More lobbying money goes through this committee than all the others combined. Everyone that has a big interest in the way they are taxed have some kind of money going to members of this committee because everyone understands the fact that "the power to tax is the power to punish" so you can see the hyper interest in the members of this quietly powerful committee.

Does anyone remember the name of a convicted criminal congressman, Daniel "Rosty" “Mr. Powerhouse” Rostenkowski (D) Illinois? Rosty was convicted of mail fraud, accepting bribes, and check kiting and they were lucky to get him on those charges considering the power this man wielded for so long. Rosty was sentenced to 17 months in prison but was pardoned by William Jefferson Clinton during the last month of his term when everyone called in their “get out jail free card”. Rosty was the longtime Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. That was the bad old days of the democrat controlled congress when bribes, franking, phony book deals, check kiting, postal stamp fraud and all sort of other corruption was the daily norm. Rosty had warehouses full of fine furniture, sculptures, paintings along with untouchable offshore bank accounts filled to the brim with money taken in bribes for his action or inaction on tax bills.

If the democrats are given this power back, make sure you have you tax accountants ready because not only will Charlie Rangel be chair of this all powerful committee but this scary group of government tax greedy democrats will be in control. The first four at the top of the list alone is enough to make anyone who pays taxes very frightened, very frightened indeed!

Chair-Charles B. Rangel, NY
Fortney Pete Stark, CA
Sander M. Levin, MI
Benjamin L. Cardin, MD
Jim McDermott, WA
John Lewis, GA
Richard E. Neal, MA
Michael R. McNulty, NY
John S. Tanner, TN
Xavier Becerra, CA
Lloyd Doggett, TX
Earl Pomeroy, ND
Stephanie Tubbs Jones, OH
Mike Thompson, CA

Penn,

Good question about the Online Gambling, that just goes to show how pork and/or other projects can get stuffed into one bill. And if Bush really WANTS that bill he has to take to pork along with it, until they ever pass the "Line Item Veto". That's why you never saw the man Veto a single bill pork and all. The Democrats would have you believe it was because he was a big spender, what the truth really is, is he didnt have the power to eliminate the pork from the bill with the line item veto. Somehow the line item veto got lost over the years and I dont remember which administration did away with it, somehow it seems like Clinton's but I'm not sure.

However I was for the entire bill this time for one reason, I had this friend that was into some online poker or some crap, day in day out, it was to easy for her to just click money out of her account and send it to the casino or wherever it goes all I know is she is or was hung up on that crap. She almost lost her home, she did sell her car, her children suffered, as well as her husband, her and I eventually quit talking because I couldnt talk her out of that crap.

Hopefully when it happens or if it already has that they shut these sites down or block her from them she will not have lost her entire family over this.

I just hope she doesnt find out this doesnt apply to Horse Racing and a few other things.

Online gambling is to easy for any family to go broke over. It's harder to get up, get dressed, and go to the casino if there is one nearby. I think alot of these people are hooked on this stuff because they dont live near a casino, and dont even have to get out of bed to play.

I do intend to go visit her election day, and see if I can drag her butt to the polls, that is if her family didnt admit her to some facility lol.

I know this was off topic but I had to get this in there.

One of the major reasons for the online gaming ban in the bill you mention Pennsy is it has been proven that these online gaming sites are used fund an assorment of mexican drug gangs, Organized crime such as the Russians and yes, terrorist oraganizations.

I myself am against State sponsered gambling just as I am against State owned alcohol distribution (State Stores). The State lottery used to be used to fund senior programs and I held my nose and bought lottery tickets (I won $167 one time on the Super Seven). Now these resourses are nothing more than huge slush funds for politicans to not just fill their pockets while no one is watching, but to fill wheelbarrows full of cash while giving taxpayers the finger saying "I got mine go get your own" PA reps are allowed to own part stakes in these slot machines. It is totally corrupt from the word go.

I don't care if people want to go to AC or Vegas and lose their money, that's on them. I do have a a big objection to the State setting up these slot parlors that are partially owned by the people that are supposed to making the laws regulating them.

The real answer to reducing taxes is stop the people from demanding so much from the government. The politicians are far to willing to raise your taxes to give to someone else when they get groups together and whine and protest on the TV news every night. The answer is to reduce spending by eduvcating the people to rely on themselves and not the government.

I knew that J_G, but the casinos in AC and Vegas are/were mafia owned.
Maybe include some type of provision that only U.S. based organized crime can own the online casinos. LOL J-K. I would never promote any type of crime or violence against other people.
I understand where you are coming from J_G, but it really could turn into a legitimate business for a legitimate American.
Marie, it is a very addicting. I know that for a fact, because my wife has a family member who will spend $100 at a time on instant lottery tickets. I have seen her spend $100 on tickets and win $500. Other times she will spend $125 and not win anything or lose money. I have too much Jewish ancestory to spend money on lottery tickets. I am a typical Jew and I am a tightwad with my money! LOL!!!!!

Pennsy, my very ancient Scottish ancestors would call it "being thrifty" I don't think there can be anyone as tight as a Scottsman.

I don't have a good answer for gaming though. It is by nature a "dirty business". It is so easy for politicians to use this business as a hushed up slush fund. They have to divest themselves of any ownership capabilities first before I even consider backing slots or other gambling in my area. The legislature got that provison of allowing them part ownership of gambling parlors and slot machine companies inserted into the legislation the same way they did the pay raise deal, in the dark of the night.

I am totally against online gambling though given the fundraising capabilities for terrorist organizations.

One of these days we all have to get together and demand that bills only be passed having only amendments that are germane (directly related to) to the original bill. I think that would go a long way to stop pork spending

Marie,

Charlie Rangel is NOT from Massachusetts as you have posted. He's a US Representative from New York.

And somewhere else on your blog in the comments you stated that we went into Iraq with 500,000 troops. We did not. But perhaps had we done so and used the Powell Doctrine of using overwhelming force, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in.

Just trying to keep you accurate and honest.

PS.

Bad news about Bush's evangelical friend, eh? You know, Haggard, the one who's admitted to buying crystal meth and being with the male prostitute (but he went only for a massage)for three years.

Oh Lord, the jokes just keep writing themselves.

Meanwhile, Mr. Haggard makes no secret of his support of President Bush. Of the three framed pictures hanging outside his office, two are of himself and the president.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank's for that I still had my mind on one of the other Democrat scew up's from MA when I wrote this.
Who cares about some evangelical guy that went down the tubes? What do you think we are ALL Bible Thumpers?
Just because he supported President Bush doesnt mean a thing! Did it mean a thing when William Jefferson got busted with 90,000 dollars worth of frozen assets in his freezer to you guys? Of couse not because the Liberal media buried that story on page 16 of the NY Times as usual. And you claim there is no media bias?
And you are not taking into account the TOTAL Troop Count, you seem to forget (Constantly) there are 33 other Countries that are involved!
Boy you guys are getting desperate!
A wee bit worried are we?
Too bad about Harold Ford Mrs. Green, never mind someone that makes little or no difference in holds the majority of Senate seats.I just watched Harold Ford of Tennesee, you know the guy that complained about the white girl calling him in the ad. I just watched his concession speech on the news in an interview. You would have thought he was at a wake instead of political campaign. That's too bad.
Don't worry though, Mr Steele from Maryland looks to be picking up the momentum for the last days of the campaign. Oh darn I forgot Mrs Green that Mr Steele is a Republican, geez that's really too bad.
How's Catherine Harris doing in the upscale areas of Dade county, think they'll be able to figure out who voted for who down there? Dang, sorry again they were the democrats that couldn't figure out what a vote on a simple punch card looks like.
I've been voting that way here in my town for twenty years and it was never was a problem here Darn, I'm really going over the line here. I live in a republican district and we have figured out how to vote on a simple punch card sorry about that Mrs Green.
