I'm not excusing what he did one bit, but after all it was EMAIL!!!
He has resigned, and checked himself into Rehab (Is that the going thing these days in Congress rehab?) And he should be looked into to see if there is any criminal activity. But he's gone!!

Oh yes i almost forgot about the Barny Frank thing. Didnt know about the Stud guy. I have been a 'Dem' most of my life and i am sick of the way my party is conducting itself. I will not be voting 'Dem' in November.
Look at the bright side, Marie. Parents and public school officials have become so aware of child molesters and sexual predators that those guys now have to get elected to Congress to get to kids.
Seems like a lot of work, though.

"I would drive a few miles for a hot stud like you," Foley said in one message obtained by ABC News.
The FBI says it has opened a "preliminary investigation" of Foley's e-mails. Federal law enforcement officials say attempts by Foley to meet in person could constitute the necessary evidence for a federal charge of "soliciting for sex" with a minor on the Internet.
In another message, Foley, using the screen name Maf54, appears to describe having been together with the teen in San Diego.

The messages also show the teen is, at times, uncomfortable with Foley's aggressive approach.

The 1983 Congressional page sex scandal was a political scandal in the United States involving members of the United States House of Representatives.
On July 14, 1983 the House Ethics Committee concluded that Rep. Dan Crane (R-Ill.) and Rep. Gerry Studds (D-Mass.) had engaged in sexual relationships with minors, specifically 17-year-old congressional pages. In Crane's case, it was a 1980 relationship with a female page and in Studds's case, it was a 1973 relationship with a male page. Both representatives immediately pleaded guilty to the charges and the committee decided to simply reprimand the two.
However, Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) demanded their expulsion. On July 20, 1983 the House voted for censure, the first time that censure had been imposed for sexual misconduct. Crane, who tearfully apologized for his transgression, lost his bid for reelection in 1984.
Studds, however, stood by the facts of the case and refused to apologize and even turned his back and ignored the censure being read to him. He called a press conference with the former page, in which both stated that they were consenting adults at the time of the relationship. The age of consent was and remains 17 in Washington DC. He stated that this was a private adult relationship, no laws had been broken, and therefore not the business of others to censure them for their private relationship. The people of Massachusetts agreed and he continued to be reelected until his retirement in 1996.

Let me tell everyone here that the Amish school shooting happened about five miles from where I live. I have been friends with the Amish for many years and they just go about their business and bother no one. I have been by that school hundreds of times and hundreds more times of schools just like that. The little girls with thier bonnets and aprons always make me smile and the little boys with their suspenders and straw hats speaking with a Dutchy accent. The women who are always so polite calling me Ma'am at the place where I buy my flowers and fresh vegetables. What the heck is going on that people want to harm children and use them for sex and murdering them?
Screw Foley, Studds and Frank screw that vacant eyed Mark Karr that said he murdered the little Ransey girl. To hell with all those that harm the innocent children. One line from the Bible that always comforts me when I see children being harmed by adults goes "It would be better to have millstone around your neck and tossed into the sea than to harm thse little ones". Can't type anymore, can't see the keys!
