Soros Slams Terror 'War,' Compares White House to Nazis
Billionaire philanthropist George Soros compared the Bush administration to socialist and communist regimes Thursday while criticizing America's war on terror.
The liberal political activist said the U.S. strategy of fighting a "war" against terrorism is "false" and a "dismal and disheartening situation." Critics say Soros is only trying to hurt Republicans' chances in the November elections and warn that he is undermining efforts to protect Americans from terrorists.
Soros told an audience at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, "We are working with a very false frame when we talk about a 'war on terror,' and yet it is universally accepted.
"Everybody now recognizes that invasion of Iraq was a real blunder, but the war on terror is still the frame that is accepted by Democrats and Republicans alike," Soros claimed. "It is a false, misleading, counterproductive, destructive frame."
By using the word "war," he argued, the Bush administration is invoking military terminology in response to a situation that, Soros believes, should be dealt with diplomatically. He also said the "war on terror" is "counterproductive," because there are "innocent victims," which "breeds rage and resentments and feeds into the terrorist case."
"It is a war that cannot be won without lots of adverse consequences," he added.
Soros also accused the president of using the war on terror for political gain and compared the Bush White House to the most murderous regimes in human history.
"President Bush is exploiting it even further ahead of these elections," Soros said. "I would voice my concerns about the similarities between this administration and the Nazis and communist regimes."
In 2004, Soros gave more than $23 million to political advocacy groups known as "527s" to defeat Bush, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Matthew Vadum, an analyst with Capital Research Center, said Soros has apparently decided to try a different strategy to influence the upcoming midterm elections.
"Instead of vigorously contesting the election this November," Vadum told Cybercast News Service, "George Soros has apparently opted to attack President Bush and the Republican Party by undermining America's war on terror."
Vadum urged Americans to examine the claims Soros is making from another perspective.
"Soros argues that it is a phony war, an empty advertising slogan that Bush is using to pull the wool over gullible Americans' eyes," Vadum said. "But U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan who put their lives on the line every day beg to differ."

There is a book out called Shadow Party that details Soros's and other members of the Democratic party who have started several political groups to attack the republicans without it being done by the Democratic party. That way it looks like it being done by concerned citizens not Democrates,and their hands appear to be clean.

And they will just come back and say something about the "Swift Boat Vets", however they were truly on thier own, and are sitting back waiting for Kerry to make a move towards the Presidency in '08.

The Left, Democrats, Librals all supported the Bush administration's plan to go after Osama and the Taliban in Afghanistan for what they did to Americans on 9/11. Every Democratic senator and representative but one voted for the war in Afghanistan. It is this war that represented America's reaction to the murders of thousands of Americans on Sept. 11 . If we’re against radical Islam, and if getting Iraq right is at the center of that struggle, why didn't we go into Iraq with an overwhelming force so that we could secure the country after the initial incursion? How could we have sent so few troops to fight such an important war when it was obvious that without security Iraqis would fall back on their tribal militias?
Why did President Bush resist any serious effort to get Americans to conserve energy that would curb our imports of oil?
We are funding both sides in this war: — the U.S. military with our tax dollars and the radical Islamists and the governments and charities that support them with our gasoline purchases.
I posed this question here before: If this is truly a war against people who want to kill us, why didn't Bush use the might of the US military to defeat our enemy and ask sacrifices from Americans, as did all previous war presidents. And why did he institute tax cuts during a time of war. That, too, has never happened in the history of this country.

What has somehow gotten lost here is the fact we are at WAR with ALL Terrorists! Not just those in Afganistan, ALL of them.
The Afghani's told OUR Military thet THEY were the only ones who could get up into the rugged terrain of Tora Bora, and we let them have it and they honestly believed they could get Usama. That's another thing that bites my ass is when you hear "Bush Lost Usama In Tora Bora", it simply isnt true. The Northern Alliance in Afghanistan had been battling Usama for YEARS. The Northern Alliance of Afghan Soldiers are right there along side us still in Afganistan, which has become more of a Nato mission now. But NONE of them can go invade Pakistan (Which is a soverein country, looking dor Usama, so we are pretty much stuck with Pakistan. Which is also a HUGE help in the "Global" War on Terror. where pretty much all the Military, The Northern Alliance, and almost every expert thinks he is in the roughest terrain there is, Waziristan, Pakistan. Thier words and thier actions are evidence. What they have told the American people like Harry Reid "We Killed The Patriot Act", They want to take away vital tools needed to prevent further attacks, like the
"Terrorist Surveillance Program" , and "Data Mining". If we dont have these tools how are the President and Homeland Security, The CIA and the FBI suppose to stop these freaks before they attack us again?

Are you serious? Bush is the ONLY one besides the rest of his administration, and most clear thinking people, that KNOW we are at WAR. Not to mention Most of the WORLD is participating in this "Global War On Terror"!

The day 9-11 happened ALL that changed, and for some reason the left wont grasp the fact that this is going to not only be a "Global War" but a "Long War"!!
Actually we did go into Iraq with overwhelming force in the beginning, and had Turkey not prevented the arrival of the 4th ID from entering Iraq BEFORE the insurgents snuck in, we wouldnt have this problem now. The reason I know this is I know a Soldier that had to help escort the 4th ID around and through Belgium and all around to manuver them over to Baghdad costing us valuable time, money, and blood in doing so.
Turkey has since apologised, but to little to late.
We started out with half a million troops, but as conditions on the ground impoved and election after election in Iraq, and when the Iraqi's formed their own government, (It isnt suppose to be and will never
look like our governemnt) we started withdrawing troops. We are down to 135,000 now, and the Iraqi Military stands at 294,000 eqipped, trained , and ready to go Soldiers. That's almost 300,000 that are NOT running away from the battle anymore because they know and we inform them constantly of what's at stake, and that we wont be there forever they have to take the fight to the enemy themselves. And they understand this.
What you see on tv is the worst and the last of what's going on. The Iraqi's control 14 out of 18 Provinces in Iraq there are 4 left to gain control over. And that's all the left wing media will show is the bad not ANY of the good things going on in Iraq.

North Korea isnt in the middle east, and Chia Pet over there is in for a rude awakening when we arm Japan!
We have all our Missile Interceptors up and operational if North Korea want's to fire any missiles at us, and we have the Navy sitting out there off thier coast just ready and waiting.
But, China, Russia, S. Korea, and others think this can be handled with Diplomacy! So we will give it a shot over in that region.
Iran is a different subject all together. We will probably sit through UN resolution after UN reolution again and again, until we have had enough of that Maniac. I support taking out thier launchpads NOW, I think the Iranians can handle overthrowing thier own government.
Dont forget we sat through 17 UN Resolutions and 13 years, before anyone ever got up off thier ass to do anything about Saddam.

Well, here we go again, these are the very words I heard this morning from a very liberal writer who would not have supported the war in Iraq even if Saddam Hussein had declared war on us and attacked us. I cannot remember the writer's name and it is unimportant because these are the talking points of the day that Mrs. Green has pasted.
It is a shame that the use of these comments ring so hollow. I agree that more force is needed to hold onto a position after it is initially overcome and taken. This is not what the writer had in mind. These kind of comments are only meant to bash Bush and nothing more.
I have probably already mentioned in some of my comments before that George Soros made his vast fortune by being a money changer. If you were to go to Europe you would have needed to exchange American dollars to then Marks, Guilders, Lire or Pesatas in order to spend money. George Soros made a huge killing by charging a fee for this currency exchange. He is disliked in Europe and considered to be nothing more than an exploiter. Soros came to America to exploit this nation but found that only some are foooled and fall for his self interest plans. Soros keeps his huge fotune in off shore accounts to exploit American tax laws and pays no taxes on his huge exploited fortune. I once considered whale poop to be the only thing lower than this man but after listening to some of the comments from Air Amerika and reading the Zsa Zsa wannabe blog George Soros has plenty of company under that pile of whale poop.
