Dont John Murtha And The Rest Of The Democrats Have ANYTHING Better To Do?

John Murtha Introduces The Same Tired Old Resolution:
Murtha Demands Secretary Rumsfeld's Resignation AGAIN:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives calling for the immediate resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.
The President must show the American people and the world that there is accountability for the mistakes that have made in the war in Iraq. We must restore our credibility with our allies and the world in order to effectively fight the global threat of terrorism.
Secretary Rumsfeld has failed in managing the military response to this threat and should be replaced with someone who is capable of not only recognizing the mistakes that have been made but addressing them head on for the good of our military and our great nation.
H. Con. Res. __________
Expressing the Sense of Congress that the President should immediately replace the Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
September 13, 2006
Mr. Murtha introduced the following resolution, which was referred to the committee on___________
Whereas ----
After 9/11, the United States government had unprecedented support from international allies as well as the American people for military action against al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan
The initial phase of the war in Afghanistan was successful in dismantling al Qaeda operations, removing the Taliban authority which was harboring al Qaeda, and allowing for the Afghani people to establish a representative government
The Secretary of Defense imposed a cap on the number of ground forces in Afghanistan prior to the war in Iraq
The Bush administration concluded in April 2002 that Osama bin Laden was in Tora Bora, Afghanistan during the battle for Tora Bora in December of 2001 and that the failure to commit the sufficient number of ground forces directly resulted in the failure to capture him
A resurgence of Taliban influence and violence is now occurring in Afghanistan
In the months prior to the war in Iraq, The Secretary of Defense repeatedly and forcefully asserted to Congress and the American people that there was no question that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and that they were a threat to the United States, which is now known to be false
The Secretary of Defense rejected estimates from top military commanders regarding the troop strength that would be required to secure Iraq, failed to anticipate the level of violent opposition among Iraqis to US occupation, and publicly doubted the war in Iraq would take [longer than] six months
The Secretary of Defense expressly forbade his staff to develop a plan for post-war Iraq and threatened to fire anyone who raised the issue
The Secretary of Defense failed to ensure that US troops had adequate protective gear for their mission at the start of the Iraq war, including a shortage of 40,000 protective body armor units, radio frequency jammers to thwart remote detonation of improvised explosive devices, and up-armored high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicles (HMMWVs)
Failure of the Secretary of Defense to anticipate the troop strength needed to secure Iraq or to develop a post-war plan resulted in foreign fighters entering the country who have incited attacks against US soldiers and fomented sectarian violence, the latter of which has precipitated a civil war between Sunni and Shia Iraqis
The Secretary of Defense asserted at the start of the Iraq war that Iraqi oil production would pay for the war yet US expenditures in Iraq now exceed $8 billion per month and Iraqi oil production is still below prewar levels
The Secretary of Defense failed to provide the necessary training, supervision, personnel and guidelines for the management of prisoners and detainees which directly led to the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison, severely undermining US efforts to win hearts and minds of the Iraqi people critical to securing Iraq
The Secretary of Defense has failed to address the flagging readiness of US ground forces, in particular the US Army, whose preparedness for war has eroded to levels not witnessed by our country in decades, thus hindering the ability of the US to respond to other potential threats to national security
US armed forces cannot sustain the current operational tempo in Iraq and a large percentage of US troops have done over three tours in Iraq
With 130,000 troops, key measures of success in Iraq have not been met and in some cases are worsening, including: the level of employment; the level of oil production; the level of electricity production; the training of Iraqi security forces; and the number of violent incidents, which have increased from an average of 400 per week before the establishment of an interim Iraqi government in the spring of 2004 to almost 800 per week this year
The Secretary of Defense has failed to ensure adequate accounting of billions of dollars of expenditures of the Coalition Provisional Authority
At the time of the introduction of this resolution, 2,672 US service members have died in Iraq and 337 have died in Afghanistan, exceeding the number of people who died on 9/11; in addition, over 20,000 US service members have been wounded
Terrorism incidents around the world have increased since the US entered Iraq
A survey of 116 top national security experts indicates that eighty-seven percent of them believe the Iraq war has had a negative impact on the war on terrorism while ninety three percent of them believe that the war in Afghanistan has had a positive impact on the war on terrorism
Democrats and Republicans are united against terrorism; Democrats and Republicans are united for a strong military; Democrats and Republicans are united for a strong America
Therefore, be it resolved that --------
It is the sense of the Congress that, for the good of the country, the United States of America must restore credibility both at home and abroad and that the first step toward restoring that credibility must be to demonstrate accountability for the mistakes that have been made in prosecuting the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq by immediately effecting the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and replacing him with someone capable of leading the nation's military in a strategy to resolve our deployment in Iraq, prevent regression in Afghanistan, reconstitute our military readiness, and refocus on the threats to national security posed by diffuse and proliferating terrorist cells as well as belligerent states.
Of course the above is ALL seen through the Democrats eyes. And this bill has already been defeated in the Senate. Instead of working on legislation that would in ANY way help the American people, push along some of the other resolutions that are backed up in the House, like maybe passing some bills that realte to PROTECTING THIS COUNTRY FROM TERRORISTS the Democrats throw out a NEW (Same Old) Resolution calling for Secretary Rumsfeld's resignation AGAIN!!!! Why must we still put up with this crap? Why cant the Democrats do ANYTHING else? This arguement is Old, Tired, Worn Out, a WASTE of the Taxpayers (Yours and Mine) dollars, and just plain idiotic at this point!!! And they dont have but a few weeks before they take off AGAIN for CAMPAIN Season! Cant we put an end to this nonsense and get back to running the Country instead of holding up progress? Murtha, GET A CLUE, move on to something else LIKE PROTECTING THIS COUNTRY!!! If this doesnt show the American people that Democrats are the party of Obstruction, I dont know what does! They are NOT interested in protecting the American people and this crap proves it.
Fully two-thirds of the active U.S. Army is officially classified as "not ready for combat."
The National Guard is "in an even more dire situation than the active Army but both have the same symptoms; I just have a higher fever."
The Army has almost no nondeployed combat-ready brigades at its disposal.
The equipment in Iraq is wearing out at four to nine times the normal peacetime rate because of combat losses and harsh operating conditions.
The total Army--active and reserve--now faces at least a $50 billion equipment shortfall.
After failing to meet its recruitment target for 2005, the Army raised the maximum age for enlistment from 35 to 40 in January--only to find it necessary to raise it to 42 in June.
The number of Army recruits who scored below average on its aptitude test doubled in 2005, and the Army has doubled the number of non-high school graduates it can enlist this year.
Basic training, which has, for decades, been an important tool for testing the mettle of recruits, has increasingly become a rubber-stamping ritual. Through the first six months of 2006, only 7.6 percent of new recruits failed basic training, down from 18.1 percent in May 2005.
Thousands of white supremacists may have been able to infiltrate the military due to pressure from recruitment shortfalls.
But of course Dumbsfeld is doing one hell of a job!
Sometimes I dont know who is the bigger ass you or Murtha!
Do you even know anyone in the Military?
I DO!!
Do you even know what it takes to get "Combat Ready"? You could teach a Soldier everything they need to know to "Kill" someone in a week! But they would also "Get Dead". Unless you go through the 9 weeks training (Army) it takes to become a fully functional "Unit" that is capable of knowing the chain of command, thier job, Medivac training, and depending on thier jobs other required courses.
When this war started our Military still had the "Cold War" mentality of fighting. We were used to fighting enemies that wore Uniforms. That ALL changed on 9-11.
That's why Secretary Rumsfeld said "You go to war with the Army you have". (Meaning ALL branches not just the Army)
Since "Medivac" training was also an added 1 week course, it has all been integrated into "Basic Training" now.
Secretary Rumsfeld has taken the Military OUT of the cold war and the Soldiers no longer have to take some of these courses outside of thier "Maneframe" jobs to complete. It's all combined.
Saving Time, Money, and Countless Lives.
For instance if you are a Soldier that signed up before 9-11, and say for instance you went to Ft. Benning GA for training, then went on to Ft. Euestess VA, for your AIT, then went on to let's say Germany for your "Tour of Duty" TDY, you would have been jerked out of your Unit and sent somewhere for a week to get "Medivac Training" for instance, then returned to your Unit and get ready for Deployment to the "Theatre of Operations" a/k/a the "Combat Zone".
That doesnt go on anymore. Secretary Rumsfeld has taken the Army and ALL branches of Service and integrated all this training into one.
A faster, more responsive, more knowledgeable, fighting force.
Ready to go at a moments notice.
Most of that crap you wrote is NOT EVEN REMOTELY TRUE!
And I dont know where you are getting your information.
I get mine from actual Soldiers, Centcom, and the Dept. Of Defense.
Every single thing you wrote was WRONG. Except the Equipment issue.
Iraq is suppose to be paying for the eqipment THEY use and they will after they get online and start making some money off the oil they are nearing the capacity to be pumped and sold.
We constantly re-supply our Soldiers with EVERYTHING that they need. From Vehicles to food in the mess halls.
We have 2.5 million Soldiers in our Armed forces, there are 135,000 in Iraq. We have trained 265,000 Iraqi Soldiers as of May of this year.
They now outnumber us in theatre.
Every single day there are thousands of "Combat Ready" Soldiers. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out the "Ratio Upon Enlistment".
You do NOT change your Secretary of Defense in the middle of a WAR!!
Is Rumsfeld arrogant and a tough man to work for? Yes he is, but then again he has to be doesnt he or he wouldnt be able to get the job done.
Murtha should find something else to do like passing resolutions that will help this Country, his fellow Soldiers, and the President to fight this "Global" war on terror instead of trying to undermine them every single step of the way.
This was another elction ploy by Murtha and the Democrats, and mark my words the American people are getting sick to death of this.
This whole arguement is old, and not productive. Then again what else could we possibly expect from the Democrats?
Hope you get over your fever soon sweet cheeks :-)
You came in just as I was finishing up with Sweet Cheeks.
Oh Geez is this crap over at Huffpo too? lol
I should have known.
I saw her on Oreilly also, and I need to write him about that.
Arianna seems to not believe "That Commercial" that was paid for and is running on tv by the people of Kurdistan Iraq.
I have news for Arianna, MY FRIEND IS IN THAT COMMERCIAL.
I have known him for 2 years and he is from Kurdistan, Iraq.
In case you havent seen the commercial Here It Is
He is only in there for a fleeting second, he isnt one of the ones taliking to the camera, he is one of the Iraqi's running around with children in a field.
I was waiting for someone to challenge that commercial. Because I know better.
She calls it "Propaganda", but just like her readers, none of them will believe it.
I think everyone of her readers needs an enema!
Actually Mrs Green has been being a good girl lol.
She asked me if I would post a tribute for a victim she knew on 9-11 for her so I did. It's on the 9-11 post down a few.
See I can be kind to Liberals when they arent so far out in left field they are coming unhinged lol.
I'm pooped.
My uncle was a Marine who served in Korea (also was a Golden Gloves boxing champion who made it to the finals in the Olympics 1948).
The other was an aunt. Nice lady who raised 4 terrific kids (my cousins).
Lots of nostalgia and reminiscing, crying and laughing.
Life.
But I promise you, jg and Marie, that I'll be back to my annoying self real soon.
WOW! I guess I havent paid a whole lot of attention to Arianna, I had NO clue she was EVER a Conservative. I never even knew that crazy woman existed until Arnie was running for Governator.
Truthfully I do have this friend I will call Danny, because I couldnt begin to spell his name let alone pronounce it with any integrity, it's like (Danlhosanuz)or something that's as close as I can get to that. He and 1 of his 2 children are in one of those commercials that he told me he was going to be in before they were even released/aired LAST YEAR! I think there are 3 or 4.
He cracks me up, I dont get to talk to him as often as I want to (Time Difference)and all, and he is learning better english every time I do talk to him, but he really hasnt got a clue as to what is all going on in Baghdad as apposed to Kurdistan!
It's almost like they are seperate Countries! I find that astounding. And with all honesty the Kurds want to be seperate from the rest of Iraq. I have NO clue how that will turn out.
But when I do talk to "Danny" he says things like "That's Fresh" and I cant help but laugh, and I tell him you have been hanging out with US troops for to long and he laughs. And till this day he seriously thinks he went to some website and voted for President Bush, and I told him it wasnt possible (2 years ago), but I got tired of argueing with him about it and said "Well That's wonderful" lol.
It is truly heartening to talk to someone who has honestly been through Saddam's regime, and truly thankful for being free. It really get's my heart when I talk to him and the more english he learns the more of a pain in the ass he is but it's still fun.
Most of his family was murdered by Saddam, he has a wife and 2 children. I dont know exaclty everyone in his family that Saddam murdered but I take it since he never mentions his mother, father, brothers or sisters, I can only guess what happened. I wont ask until I think he is ready to talk about all that.
Danny has invited me and whoever I want to take to his own house in Kurdistan for a vacation. I was like "UH" when I answered him but I did eventually tell him when things calmed down I would go. And he told me that in Kurdistan they have tourists, and a strong economy and I was like, what the heck is going on different there than in Baghdad? He says it's totally different there. I know it's hard to believe, but that's what he says, and he seems not to have that much knowledge of everything that goes on in Baghdad.
Amazing! And guess what? The people of Kurdistan accept Israel's right to exist!!!
It's astounding how different they are from the rest of that Country!
But HOW DARE Arianna even mention something she knows absolutely NOTHING about.
That really got my ass last night when I heard her tell Bill it was "All Propaganda", I dare her to meet someone from Kurdistan or anywhere in Iraq for that matter and then tell of what she knows after that. Propaganda MY ASS!!!
Hell I met Danny in a chatroom on Yahoo back in '04, it isnt that hard for Arianna to do it.
Or find someone to do it for her.
And you have George Clooney today talking about "Genocide" in Darfur" to the United Nations (As if they matter). Where the hell was George Clooney when Saddam was committing Genocide? Where was ANYONE?????
I knew Arianna was an ignorant bitch but I never knew how ignorant until last night.
I dare any Liberal/Democrat whatever to actually talk to someone from Iraq and then tell me they shouldnt have been released from the hell they were in. How could anyone begrudge them thier freedom? I get sick of all these loones telling me what is and isnt going on in Iraq when I know different!
Arianna can kiss my ass. She is a Lunatic and she attracts Lunatics from all over to her blog. And there is NO WAY I will ever take ANYTHING she says or posts seriously!!! EVER!!!
Oh Good God I am so sorry Mrs. Green. 2 Family members in one day I cant even imagine.
My dad was In the Army during Korea, 1952 I think, I'm not sure he ever made it to Korea though. But Golden Gloves and Olympics wow! What a true hero he was. He would have been a hero anyway. I am a very strong Family/Country woman.
Your aunt was a strong woman. With alot of guts I can tell.
I bet there was alot of reminising and all, I know you are tired.
To tell you the truth Mrs. Green, you were never annoying, I Love a robust debate. I just wish you wouldnt hang around HuffPo, I am truly worried about your sanity.
And she just drags in the people that dont really care about anything except thier own agenda.
I have read some of what goes on there and it's weird to say the least.
I know you probably have friends there and all, but Jesus!
I am just truly worried about anyone who spends any time there.
I dont know how to explain it but I have this bad feeling about her place.
But you are welcome here anytime :-)
I'm sure we will square off again lol...
You take care of yourself!!!
And even prouder when William Jefferson D-LA gets indicted for taking $100,000 in bribe money from a Nigerian official and stashing it away in his freezer!!!
Yeah, Zsa-Zsa wannabe's millionaire husband Michael ran for US Senate in California. Drearyanna ran to all the talk shows saying the same frickin stuff about Beal Qwinton that she is now saying about George Bush. Fake, phony, fraud, moron Zsa Zsa wannabe. No scruples whatsoever.
As a matter of fact, when she was running around telling everyone to quit driving big SUV's she got caught driving one herself and she quick;y traded it in for some tuna can that gets better gas mileage. It's really laughable if you know anything about her.
If you noticed the looks that Bill O'Reilly was giving the Dreary one while he was interviewing her it just shows that serious people can't take her seriously. She's got money from her husband and a big mouth that sounds like Zsa Zsa huffing glue.
Oh yeah, Murtha, sorry I got of on the wrong track. Murtha is another political oportunist. He thinks if he has the loudest voice on pulling troops out of Iraq, he wiil be better positioned to become Speaker of the House if the dems take over. It's actually essential for his political career and personal freedom. There's been word of an investigation his brother and him were in on a military supplier kickback scheme. Stand by for heavy seas, batton down the hatches.
Mrs. Green is growing on me. It's not a unique phenomena. I used to have a leftie who used to come on in tirades that had nothing to do with the topic, and insult me or just rant. After a while, you develop a sort of familiarity and acceptance. Mark's blog is a good example of how a place can be populated by left and right, and behave like a community where things get heated, but you'd miss it if it weren't like that.
Unfortunately, I became too nice to my leftie commenter and he said it was too hard to keep disagreeing with someone who was nice to him. So I haven't seen him around since. But I have a few others who pop in from time to time. Usually they just lurk; but occasionally, I make 'em squirm so much they can't hold it in any longer and just have to pop off.
I think it was very decent of you Marie to set politics aside and mention Mrs. Green's friend in your 9/11 tribute. It's a nice reminder that we are all still fellow Americans.
"Larry Bailey of bootmurtha.com is continuing his three year blind support of our current Commander in Chief's incompetence in war. President Bush declared war in Iraq without the 4th Infantry, our most lethal, modern, and deployable heavy division in the world," added Hancuff.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 points I would like to make, first Bush didnt just declare war on Iraq, Iraq is "A Part" in the "Global War On Terror". And you might as well include Tony Blair and 33 other countries in on that one also.

Second, Bush did NOT go into Iraq WITHOUT the 4th ID, Turkey gauranteed the 4th ID would be allowed to cross through thier country in order to meet up with the others to have the entire Country of Iraq surrounded. Bowing under pressure from other Islamic Nations Turkey said NO. Which prevented the 4th ID from joining the others all at the same time which would have squashed the insurgency altogether. Turkey has since apologised for that big mistake. To little to late. The 4th ID did eventually join, only after they were escorted by US troops from Germany, through Belgium and all over hell's half acre to get into Iraq. which by then the Insurgency had already taken hold. How do I know this? My son was one of the ones that had to escort the 4th ID!
So you better get your facts straight buddy!
