Why Did Obama Lie At The Debate?

First The Kissinger Lie:

Obama Drug Henry Kissinger Into the debate lol and lied that the U.S. President should meet with Iran's President and other Rogue Dictators without Preconditions.

Here is an excerpt:

Kissinger: Obama Was Wrong

During Friday night's presidential debate, Barack Obama claimed that one of John McCain's advisers, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, supported his view that the U.S. president should meet with Iran's president and other rogue dictators without preconditions.

The point made McCain livid, as he repeatedly pointed out that Kissinger, his friend of 35 years, would never back such a dangerous position.

McCain turned out to be right.

Kissinger released a statement immediately after the debate. It read:

"Sen. McCain is right. I would not recommend the next president of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the presidential level."

"Look, I'll sit down with anybody, but there's got to be preconditions," McCain said during the debate. He painted Obama's previously stated position as reckless and naive.

Story Here

Then The Bracelet Episode

Then Obama wore a bracelet of a fallen Soldier that the Family objected to him wearing!

Here is an excerpt from that story:

It was meant as a sign of respect, but now conservatives are saying Sen. Barack Obama's invocation of his "hero bracelet" bearing the name of a fallen soldier is being done against the family's wishes.

Some background, first. During Friday night's presidential debate, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., mentioned the moment when the mother of a fallen soldier gave him a hero bracelet bearing her son's name, Matthew Stanley.

"I had a town hall meeting in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, and a woman stood up and she said, 'Senator McCain, I want you to do me the honor of wearing a bracelet with my son's name on it.'" McCain recalled. "He was 22 years old and he was killed in combat outside of Baghdad, Matthew Stanley, before Christmas last year. This was last August, a year ago. And I said, 'I will -- I will wear his bracelet with honor.'...And then she said, 'But, Senator McCain, I want you to do everything -- promise me one thing, that you'll do everything in your power to make sure that my son's death was not in vain.' That means that that mission succeeds, just like those young people who re-enlisted in Baghdad, just like the mother I met at the airport the other day whose son was killed. And they all say to me that we don't want defeat."

Sen. Obama responded saying, "I've got a bracelet, too, from Sergeant - from the mother of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek, given to me in Green Bay. She asked me, 'Can you please make sure another mother is not going through what I'm going through?' No U.S. soldier ever dies in vain because they're carrying out the missions of their commander in chief. And we honor all the service that they've provided. Our troops have performed brilliantly. The question is for the next president: 'Are we making good judgments about how to keep America safe? Precisely because sending our military into battle is such an enormous step."

In February, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on the moment when Tracy Jopek gave Obama the bracelet, and Obama's mentioning of Jopek after he won the Wisconsin primary.

"We're here because of the mother I met in Green Bay, Wisconsin, who gave me this bracelet that I'm wearing," Obama said then. "Inscribed on it is the name of her son Ryan. Next to his name it says...'All gave some but he gave all.' We are here because it is time to ask ourselves as a nation if we are serving Ryan and his compatriots and all our young brave men and women as well as they are serving us. They need us to end this war and bring them home and give them the care and the benefits that they deserve."

Ryan Jopek was 20, a member of the Wisconsin National Guard like his father. He deployed to Iraq in 2005, was killed there in 2006.

In February 2008, Ryan's mother Tracy and his sister Jessica traveled to Green Bay and waited in the cold for 45 minutes to give Obama her son's bracelet. A campaign staffer arranged it so they could meet him.

"I didn't get to say what I wanted to say. I just cried," Tracy Jopek told the newspaper. "It wasn't for anything but for him to know this is real, something he needed to know. . . I do believe (the war) needs to end, but I believe it needs to be done very carefully and very thoughtfully."

She said she was honored by Obama mentioning her son in his speech.

"I couldn't believe it. It was such an honor, such an honor," she said. "To know that he does know his name. It means a lot."

But a month later, Ryan's father Brian -- who is no longer married to Tracy -- told Wisconsin Public Radio that his ex-wife had misgivings about Obama wearing the bracelet and mentioning their son on the campaign trail. It seems as though just as Tracy Jopek supports Obama and wants to end the war, Brian Jopek has a different take on what should happen in Iraq and may be more inclined to support McCain.

After pointing out that he and Tracy are not married anymore, Brian says that "from what I understood from email exchanges with Tracy….she wanted to put a name, she wanted Sen. Obama to know Ryan's name...She wasn't looking to turn it into a big media event...She just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself."

Bryan Jopek went on to say that "because of some of the negative feedback she’s gotten on the Internet, you know Internet blogs, you know people accusing her of… or accusing Obama of trying to get votes doing it… and that sort of thing, she has turned down any subsequent interviews with the media because she just didn’t, she just didn't want it to get turned into something that it wasn’t. She had told me that in an email that she had asked, actually asked Mr. Obama to not wear the bracelet anymore at any of his public appearances."

Story Here
Obama didnt have to lie like this! Once again this proves Obama will say ANYTHING to get elected. Obama is NOT ready to lead this Country, and especially not our Armed Forces.

Anybody who thinks Obama won that debate is drunk on the Koolaid. Obama was visibly rattled, annoyed, and exposed on numerous occasions, even rudely interrupting McCain on almost every MCain answer. Obama was caught in numerous lies , and or misrepresentations through fact check. Obama got schooled by McCain, and often agreed with McCain. Obama straight lost, but the obama loving media wont admit it. Anybody with a grain of sense knows the truth. We also know that Obama is a corrupt shady character who would make a great leader of A.C.O.R.N. and that's about it.

Oh Marie, you love cut and pasting stories and then you always provide the link. Here's what you left out from your usual cut and paste job, that is included in your link:

In an interview with the Associated Press today, Brian's ex-wife confirmed today that she had asked the Obama campaign to ask the candidate to stop mentioning her son on the stump.

But -- and here's where it gets complicated -- according to the AP story, Tracy Jopek also said she was "ecstatic" that Obama mentioned her son's hero bracelet during Friday's debate. That's because he was responding to McCain citing a different griveing mother's hero bracelet as a way to back his political views of the war in Iraq and citing the bracelet she'd given Obama was a good and appropriate way to remind people there are different views on this issue.

Obama didn't lie about Kissinger's suggestion to face-to-face talks without pre-conditions:

Kissinger backs direct U.S. talks with Iran

By Camilla Hall and Mike Schneider
Bloomberg News

Published: March 15, 2008

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said the U.S. should negotiate directly with Iran over its nuclear program and other bilateral issues.

"One should be prepared to negotiate, and I think we should be prepared to negotiate about Iran," Kissinger, who brokered the end of the 1973 Yom Kippur war and peace talks with the North Vietnamese, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television. Asked whether he meant the U.S. should hold direct talks, Kissinger, 84, responded: "Yes, I think we should."

There has been no response so far from Iran, he said.

"I've been in semi-private, totally private talks with Iranians," he said. "They've had put before them approaches that with a little flexibility on their part would, in my view, surely lead to negotiations." He didn't elaborate on who was engaged in the talks.

While the Bush administration pursues a policy of diplomatic pressure on Iran at the United Nations and unilateral sanctions to weaken its access to the international banking system, the U.S. hasn't ruled out military action to halt Iran's nuclear work. There has been no direct contact between the U.S. and Iran since the 1979 Iranian revolution, except for talks in Baghdad on Iraqi security between their ambassadors or technical experts.

-McCain's assertion that Obama would raise taxes on everyone and voted to raise taxes on anyone who made $42,000 a year. The fact was Obama voted for a tax raise, but only for single people who made that amount.
Obama's new plan actually lowers taxes. But, according to, it's not the 95% of American people as he claimed but 95% of American families.

-Regarding Kissinger's suggestion for talks with Iran:

Kissinger Sept. 20: Well, I am in favor of negotiating with Iran. And one utility of negotiation is to put before Iran our vision of a Middle East, of a stable Middle East, and our notion on nuclear proliferation at a high enough level so that they have to study it. And, therefore, I actually have preferred doing it at the secretary of state level so that we -- we know we're dealing with authentic...

CNN's Frank Sesno: Put at a very high level right out of the box?

Kissinger: Initially, yes. But I do not believe that we can make conditions for the opening of negotiations. (!!!!!)

Lying comes natural to the Democrats.
There is something sinister going on in this country being orchestrated by the Far left.
The enemies of this country are rushing to have the bailout pass Congress ASAP.
For that reason alone it should be stopped. Plus dont you find it odd how Nancy Pelosi is requiring 100 GOP congressmen to support the Bailout or else she won’’t pass it?
She’s looking for cover. She knows something horrible is in that bill and she wants to be able to deflect the coming criticism when it is exposed.

Obama lies constantly, Marie, and the Federalist swallows it hook, line and sinker! Incidently, the fact that the mother asked Obama to wear the bracelet was in the story on your post and also the fact that she doesn't want him to wear it anymore. Perhaps the Federalist should read the entire post, ya think?

I wonder how he feels about our freedom of speech being denied us? I hope you will come by and watch the video, Marie. As for the Federalist, I hope he doesn't. I've read enough to know that nothing is going to change his mind.

You do a good job of pointing out the truth. The liberals hate it.

I guess I just struggle with BS and you deal quite a bit of it on here.

I just posted the truth about your false accusations. McSame lied about the war, lied about his cars, lied about Palin, lied in the Keating 5, lied to his first wife, and has lied thousands of times in his false representations of Obama's positions.

You ass! I post stories that are of interest to my readers and I, the reason I leave link's is if anyone want's to read THE FULL VERSION they can do so.

I dont post the entire story because I just dont have the room or the time sometimes.

Also I post the gest of the story on front so people can read it and see what's not being reported by the Drive By Media!

The link's are a back up to the whole story if they feel like reading them.

Sometimes I post my own thought's sometimes I post Video's, Sometimes I post Pictures!

You claim I deal in Bullshit just because YOU dont want anyone to see the truth.

Ya know what? Tuff!

September 29, 2008 1:30 PM
Blogger The Federalist said... took up nearly 2 pages to paste the story but you leave out the very last paragraph: the one that negates your entire point!

Now THAT's funny!

How convenient!

Why give the link to the story if it's going to contradict your post?

Your claim that Obama lied is false, just admit it. It's okay, it's not like anyone doesn't know you're Republican.

But here's a hint: come up with a completely original opinion or perspective, gather evidence (facts, I know, scary) to support your thesis and then be prepared to defend it.

When you pervert truth and twist facts it just reveals more about you than it does about Obama.

You Ass! I just looked at the story again and since I posted this story it's been updated.

Good try though!

Sorry but the truth still stands! Not only did Obama lie about Kissenger saying he supported Obama's plan to sit down and have tea with rouge dictators, but Obama also upset the Jovek family by mentioning the Bracelet and dragging them into a media nightmare!

I will reprint:

Bryan Jopek went on to say that "because of some of the negative feedback she’s gotten on the Internet, you know Internet blogs, you know people accusing her of… or accusing Obama of trying to get votes doing it… and that sort of thing, she has turned down any subsequent interviews with the media because she just didn’t, she just didn't want it to get turned into something that it wasn’t. Sorry if the truth hurt's Feddy!

Here's a hint for you:

When I do write my own original thought's (see top post^)

And I alway's gather my fact's and provide link's.

Federalist and Marie,

You are both right on the McCain/Kissinger issue.

Obama in his debate against Hillary in the spring said he, as President, would meet without preconditions with the Iranians.

Kissinger did say we should meet without preconditions with the Iranians at the Secretary of State level.

Now, as the campaign went on, Obama adjusted his stance to mean his Admin. It was not what he originally said, but it was roughly equal to what he meant. At least that is what his campaign said.

Marie, I hope you are not taking the view that someone who is running cannot amend or change their statement a little, while keeping the same basic context.

Because if you are, where does that leave McCain with his "fundamentals of the economy are strong" quip?

The bottom line seems to be this.

Obama favors his Admin negotiating or talking with our enemies. McCain seems to favor a policy of isolation for those regimes that oppose us. Roughly similar to what we now have with Bush.

Former Secty of State by his own words, favors the approach of talks and/or negotiations, without preconditions.

As do four others former Secty's Baker, Powell, Albright, and Christopher.

I although I certainly applaud your effort at seeking truth, you should be advised that "truth" here is avoided as if it were the plague.

Regarding the "braceletgate", here is the rest of the story you REFUSE to post or acknowledge:

"But -- and here's where it gets complicated -- according to the AP story, Tracy Jopek also said she was "ecstatic" that Obama mentioned her son's hero bracelet during Friday's debate. The whole purpose of the Fallen Hero Bracelet is to remember the name of the hero and the selfless act. Obama could not remember the name on his bracelet and sullied the memory by associating himself with a man worthy of remembrance.

September 29, 2008 10:07 PM
Blogger Indigo Red said...

Oh! Obama lied again about Pappy Obama in the closing statement. He said Pappy came to America in the 1960's to be part of the racial freedom enjoyed here. Pappy O came to America in 1959 before the civil rights movement and legislation.

The only real question is this - is the Kenya Kid lying to American voters or to himself to create a mythical father who didn't want him from the start and was a scumbag as a father?

You could argue that the Civil Rights Movement began with Brown vs. Board of Education, with Medgar Evers and with the brutal murder of Emmitt Till...all of which happened before 1959.

I dont know why I put up with him, but shortly he may need a time out :-)

I know I upset you terribly but you really do need to get over it!

I almost fell over when Obama forgot the name of the Soldier and had to look at his bracelet to find the name.

I forgot about pappy.

I would also like Obama's personnel information released like every candidate running for President.

Like his Birth Certificate, medical records, etc..

September 30, 2008 11:28 AM
Blogger The Federalist said...

McSame has released nothing.

Obama has released his birth certificate and it's posted on It's been there for months.

Grampy won't release his medical records. He's had nearly every serious cancer known to humans.

Here's an excerpt from an LA Times article talking about Obama's health after his checkup in January 2007:

Although he hasn’t had a physical in 16 months, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been “in excellent health” and is physically ready to serve as president, his longtime physician wrote in a letter released by the campaign today.

The letter contained relatively few details but noted that Obama has a family history of cancer – his mother died of ovarian cancer and a grandfather of prostate cancer. A prostate-specific antigen test detected no issues for Obama, however.

The Illinois senator has struggled to quit smoking, Dr. David L. Scheiner wrote in the overview, but is now “using Nicorette gum with success.”

“His build was lean and muscular with no excess body fat,” Scheiner said of the last physical, conducted Jan. 15, 2007. “His physical examination was completely normal.”

The overview was contained in a one-page letter with no supporting documentation. “With no surgery or hospital stays, this is a complete summary of his doctor visits and medical records for the past two decades,” said campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

The brief Obama letter contrasted with Arizona Sen. John McCain’s decision to let a selected group of reporters spend three hours with nearly 1,200 pages of health records last week.

Those records showed that McCain, the presumed Republican presidential nominee, is in good health, although he has a 15-year history of skin cancers, including a minor case in February, and has had bouts with precancerous polyps in his colon, kidney cysts and bladder stones.

Blogger The Federalist said...

McSame has not released his to the public, only to "select reporters".

I could understand why.

Oh Fed Piss Off,

McCain has released everything as if he hasnt had to release all this information before.

He ran against Bush in 2000 remember?

I think we all know McCain from the top of his head to his toes!

Which is more than I can say about Obama!

I would love to see Obama's original Birth Certificate, ya know the one from Indonesia?
