House To Investigate Charlie Rangel D-NY

House To Launch Investigation Into Rep. Rangel

Use Of Congressional Stationery, Harlem Rent-Stabilized Apartments Among Items On Inquiry

The House of Representatives will conduct an inquiry into Rep. Charles Rangel, the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

The ethics committee of Congress announced they established a subcommittee to investigate Rangel, who has already been in plenty of hot water recently.

One stunning part of the determination is that the committee decided to investigate his use of congressional stationery in three separate years to seek donors for a public policy institute in his name at City College.

The committee will also investigate Rangel's use of four rent-stabilized apartments leased in the Lenox Terrace apartment complex in Harlem, the financing of the beachfront villa leased in the Dominican Republic, and his questionable storage of a late-model Mercedes Benz in the house garage.

In a statement the committee said it will determine whether Rangel "violated the Code of Official Conduct, or any law, rule, regulation or other standard of conduct applicable to his conduct in the performance of his duties."

Marie you know of course that the investigation will consist of his fellow Dems asking him," Charlie, did you take care of this stuff ?"

To which he will answer, "yes."

Then his fellow liars will say, "that's good enough for me!"

Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens maintains innocence as corruption trial begins Monday
Monday, September 22, 2008 03:04:02 AM

Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens, in the midst of a tough re-election fight back at home, begins another fight with legal and political implications as his trial on corruption charges begins only steps from the U.S. Capitol.

Stevens is charged with lying in Senate financial disclosure records about hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts and home renovations he received from VECO Corp. On Friday, he urged people to reserve judgment until all the evidence is in.

"I have said I am innocent of the charges against me, and I think the trial will show that," Stevens said at a news conference in Anchorage, Alaska.

VECO employees normally build oil pipeline and processing equipment. But company workers also led the renovation of the senator's home, a project that was overseen by Bill Allen, a longtime Stevens friend and now the government's star witness.

Stevens, 84, says he paid every bill he received and has pleaded not guilty to all seven counts. The senator has pushed to get his trial completed before Alaskans vote Nov. 4 on his re-election.

Stevens, who has skipped most of the pretrial hearings at the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse three blocks from the Capitol, will be in court for the jury selection starting on Monday, lawyers said.

The 150 potential jurors will complete a multipage questionnaire behind closed doors before being questioned by lawyers on their suitability for the monthlong trial.

Stevens, who is looking to win a seventh term, is in a tough race against Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich, a Democrat. The longtime GOP icon will have to stay in Washington during the trial, while Begich is free to campaign around Alaska.

No foolin huh? LOL

I dont really care what happens to Steven's if he turns out to be guilty then he should go.

But if he's not guilty he should stay.

Just like with the Dems, but the Dems never seem to excuse themselves from their post's on these commitee's like William "Frozen Asset's" Jefferson, Rangel, etc..etc.. Oh and let's not forget Barney Frank who didnt excuse himself when he was under investigation for running a child prostitution ring out of the basement of his Home!

Charlie said "You got to be kind to the disabled."

Then I guess we should all be very kind to ol' Charlie, who is obviously mentally disabled.

Hey, Marie...
Joe Biden says it's patriotic to pay taxes, right?
So, since Mr. Rangel doesn't pay his taxes, I say we should start questioning his patriotism.
Whaddya think?
