McCain Rescues 12,000 Flag's Thrown Away By Democrat's

Boy Scouts have arrived with 84 trash bags full of bundles of flags at the site of a McCain rally scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. local time in Colorado Springs.

The campaign says the flags were recovered from Invesco Field after the Democrats concluded their convention there, and they are going to be used as part of the warm-up ceremonies before McCain takes the stage for the rally.

Discarded Flag's At Obama Acceptance Speech At Invesco Field

A vendor at Invesco Field found the flags, which were going to be thrown out, and turned them over to the McCain campaign.

Veterans in Colorado Springs are expected to distribute the flags to the audience at the rally.

Obama has faced questions about his patriotism since the beginning of the Democratic primary, and has set up a Web site specifically designed to fight such charges.

Hmmmmmmm

The McCain campaign has denied questioning Obama’s patriotism, and even released a statement Friday calling Obama’s most recent comments on the matter “hysterical.”

It’s unclear exactly what Democratic convention organizers should have done with their used flags after Obama’s nomination acceptance speech. U.S. Code says the proper method for disposing of an American flag is actually burning, provided it is “no longer a fitting emblem for display.”

Flag's Rescued From Obama Rally Handed Out At McCain/Palin Rally

LOL! Oh This Just Get's Better

The United States Flag Store, which sells full-sized and miniature flags, says on its Web site that flags can be put in the trash, when they are “worn, damaged or tattered beyond repair.”

Do these Flag's look damaged beyond repair?

Read Here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Doesn't this figure? Instead of taking their flag's home the Democrat's just tossed them in the trash, and/or left them behind. Democrat's proving once again they PRETEND to Love America!
LOL...Marie keeps posting that picture of Obama not putting his hand on his heart during the National Anthem...funny stuff. No one I know has EVER put their hand on their heart for the National Anthem: it's not protocol. My stepfather doesn't even do it and he's a Purple Heart Vietnam Vet. It is, however, respectful to remove a cap or hat during the National Anthem.
Just a little fact: McSame DID NOT HAVE A FLAG LAPEL PIN ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT NOR DURING HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH! WHAT AN AMERICA HATER!
TOM RIDGE, NO FLAG LAPEL PIN!
Regarding the flag, the Fuhrer has beaten anyone in desecration of the flag:
Published on Sunday, August 31, 2003 by the Washington Post
Mr. Bush and the Flag
Editorial
THE WHITE HOUSE supports the wrongheaded constitutional amendment that would give Congress the power "to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States." Yet in light of an incident last month, Mr. Bush should consider whether he might be the first person jailed should this perennial foolishness -- passed most recently by the House of Representatives earlier this year -- ever become part of the Constitution. Mr. Bush, at a political event in Livonia, Mich., autographed supporters' flags, an apparent violation of an obscure provision of American law that details the respect with which flags should be treated. "The flag," reads the code, "should never have placed upon it . . . any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature." The last time Congress sought to ban flag-burning, in a statute the Supreme Court struck down in 1989, it made a criminal out of anyone who "defaces" a flag -- language Mr. Bush likewise appears to have violated. Never mind the fact that he clearly meant no disrespect; if Congress had the power to criminalize flag desecration, he would at least arguably be indictable.
We say arguably because there's no telling what "desecration" actually means. The proposed amendment is meant to deal with flag-burning, but what about that American soldier who, in a moment of unadulterated patriotism, wrapped a flag around a statue of Saddam Hussein? What about a person who proudly wears a ripped T-shirt displaying the flag? Of course, such cases would never be brought in court. The amendment, in practice, would be used to punish only unpopular political expression, expression that, though sometimes odious, is today unambiguously protected by American constitutional law -- as it should be. But the notion that the president, or anyone, could be charged with signing a flag should not be even arguable. It should be laughable -- as it would be if politicians such as Mr. Bush had the guts to stand against constitutional pollution rather than pandering to it.
Ole G Dub grabbed a Sharpie and signed an American Flag! Wonder how those in the War of Independence would feel about that!
LOL!
What a joke!
Fed,
Isnt it strange that Richardson and Clinton covered their hearts with their hands?
That is protocol.
It has nothing to do with Flag Pin's, it's a sign of respect for the Flag our ancestor's fought and died for.
Bob,
Because the flags that had been bundled were still at Invesco Field and were taken without authorization by a someone (possible McSame campaign worker?).
I know, facts are a real bitch.
Updated with DNC response
In response to the accusations, DNC spokeswoman Karren Finney released the following statement:
"American flags were proudly waved by the 75,000 people who joined Barack Obama at the Democratic Convention. John McCain should applaud that, but instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism. On the same day he agrees to join Barack Obama at Ground Zero on September 11, John McCain attacks the patriotism of Obama supporters who so proudly waved the American flag at our historic event in Denver just days ago."
Nice move, McSame! What is this? 1936 Germany? "Fire at the Reichstag!"
Ortho,
You are obviously skilled at rhetoric. Your short statement was overtly an invitation to visit your post-modern blog. I am myself of voracious reader of post-structuralist literature and literary criticism: from De Man to Derrida.
Lastly Ortho, to state that Marie has engaged in "tirelessly reporting" is so incredibly condescending and patronizing on your part.
Anyone can go to Newsmax or cut and past a blog entry. The reason this has not made the news is that this is not the story; sort of like when AP had to release a Fact Check of Palin's speech as it was so saturated with lies and false accusations.
You must not be a deconstructionist: you have as much disdain for the truth as the other mindless lemmings on here.
Reddy Feddy - "No one I know has EVER put their hand on their heart for the National Anthem: it's not protocol."
It's not just a law, it's protocol and etiquette.
Public Law No. 110-181 changes Section 9 of title 4, United States Code, by striking "all persons present" and all that follows through the end of the section and inserting the following: "all persons present in uniform should render the military salute. Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute. All other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, or if applicable, remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Citizens of other countries present should stand at attention. All such conduct toward the flag in a moving column should be rendered at the moment the flag passes."
Clearly, non-military/veteran citizens not in uniform stand at attention with their hand over the heart.
Only NON-CITIZENS should simply stand at attention.
You are wrong Fed.
Now, say you're sorry.
Every Boy Scout, Cub Scout, Girl Scout, Brownie and other American service and social groups including the American Legion, VFW and Republican and the former Democrat (when my Father and Mother were members) parties understand the protocol for the National Anthem;
The Star Spangled Banner, adopted from the words of a poem written by Francis Scott Key during the attack on Fort McHenry in 1814(how many of these trolls here have ever been there or know about it and where is it located?), adopted by the US Navy in 1889 and recognized by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916 and Congressional Resolution in 1931 signed into law by President Herbert Hoover.
These were the things I was taught in Grade school under the title of "Citizenship and Civics". They no longer teach these things as is readily apparent.
Obama was never taught these things because his Mother was a radical leftist who abhorred our system of government and our country and the things for which it stands. Hence no respect for the flag from Obama, he is a leftist that believes only in himself and the radical leftist ideals he was taught by his mother, Saul Alinsky , William Ayers, Bernadette Dohrn and Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Here is the protocol for the National Anthem:
Sec. 301. National anthem
(a) Designation.–The composition consisting of the words and music
known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.
(b) Conduct During Playing.–During a rendition of the national
anthem–
(1) when the flag is displayed–
(A) all present except those in uniform should stand at
attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart;
(B) men not in uniform should remove their headdress with
their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder,
the hand being over the heart; and
(C) individuals in uniform should give the military salute
at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until
the last note; and
(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face
toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag
were displayed.
Ah, Fed will say, 'I was talking about National Anthem protocol, not the lag proticol.' Then say something about rubes.
US Natioan Anthem Protocol is:
TITLE 36–PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES, CEREMONIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS
SUBTITLE I–PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES AND CEREMONIES
PART A–OBSERVANCES AND CEREMONIES
CHAPTER 3–NATIONAL ANTHEM, MOTTO, FLORAL EMBLEM, AND MARCH
Section 301–National Anthem
Sec. 301. National anthem
(See previous Indigo comment.)
Sorry, Feddy. You're still wrong. You might want to rethink your decision not to admit your error and apologize.
Section 301 is part of
US Code:
TITLE 36–PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES, CEREMONIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS
SUBTITLE I–PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES AND CEREMONIES
PART A–OBSERVANCES AND CEREMONIES
CHAPTER 3–NATIONAL ANTHEM, MOTTO, FLORAL EMBLEM, AND MARCH
Section 301–National Anthem
These codes are basically unenforceable as far as criminal laws go. They are merely protocols for showing the proper respect if that is your intention to do so. There are many flag protocols that go unheeded that I see many times in my travels. When I see them I courteously let those people know by leaving a note or politely point out the mistake. I haven't met a person yet that hasn't appreciative of me pointing out their improper display of the flag. It is usually just an honest mistake and unintentional.
We have a Boy Scout receptacle at our township building to deposit worn out flags for proper disposal. The Boy Scouts take them back to their meeting place a do what has to be done to respectfully dispose of the flag. It is not throwing them in a trash can or using them for bird cage liners as many on the left would do. Proper respect means the intention of the display of the flag.
I have my father's folded Flag displayed in a case with his ribbons and ranking badges. If someone would attempt to burn or desecrate that flag, that act would surely end in death for the person attempting such an act or mine attempting to prevent such an act.
Someone attempting to desecrate one of my many flags would only incur a severe beating or some bird shot to be removed at the local hospital.
Indigo,
(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
This code for care of the flag has NEVER been amended. Fuhrer Bush took a Sharpie to an American Flag and had the audacity and arrogance to autograph it. Nice one.
The National Anthem Committee of 1942 did not stipulate that non-military members place their hand over their hearts, but rather remove their "headdress": sort of like Caribou Barbie's misunderstanding of a) when the Pledge of Allegiance was written and b) that "under God" did not make it into the text until 1952.
But who needs facts when you steal flags from a stadium and claim they were thrown in the garbage??
But...since we are uhder a quasi-Fascist, hyper-Nationalistic regime, perhaps we should adhere to all of the codes unconditionally and without hesitation. However, NASCAR fans may find difficulty removing the flag tattoos and from ceasing to wrap themselves up in the flag at country music concerts.
http://www.usflag.org/uscode36.html
I did not take a class in grade school or high school titled, "Citizenship and Civics". During this time Reagan was president and I don't remember ever having this class offered at my public high school in Peoria, IL.
But then again, I was in grade school and high school post-1954.
Indigo, if you have ever sang the National Anthem in anything but B-flat, then you should say you're sorry because you were wrong.
P.S. When does Palin get to come out from the Government Witness Protection Program?
Obama doesn't respect the Flag, the National Anthem or the Country and it's people.He demonstrates every time he has the opportunity to pay respect. As bad as Hillary Clinton sings she will still sing the National anthem and put her hand over heart even though she is wrong on all the issues.
Obama is a complete wash and persona non grata when it comes to being respectful to America, Americans, the Flag or the National Anthem, they are not his, he does honor those things.
Your whole convention was a junior high pep rally with snipets and one-line zingers ( Mark Foley included). And you say that "facts are kryptonite" to me? Did you get food poisoning from the Moose Burgers in MSP?
For the Pledge we had to stand and recite it every morning with our hand over our heart.
The subject is protocol for the National Anthem. You want to cherry pick one code; I say let's go for them all.
The information you posted earlier is 100% correct. As J_G pointed out, these are suggestions for protocol and only certain violations warrant consequences.
You're proud of your taser gun. You claim to be Christian but yet have the deepest of passions for the physical torture of other human beings.
You believe that Iraq had WMD although none have been found. You believe that the economy is "fundamentally sound" despite the highest unemployment in 5 years and that gas has more than doubled in less than 8 years. Some states have foreclosure rates of over 100%.
You believe that Sarah Palin has experience and is a "Washington outsider" despite the FACT that she just received her first passport 2 years ago and was the mayor of a town of 7,000 before being a governor of a larger "city" of 680,000 and who took nearly 27 million dollars in earmarks and over 300 million dollars for a bridge that she now is against (but still kept the money ;)
I would say that you are in need of both therapy and psychiatric help.
Will you ever stop riding Hannity's jock strap with those TIRED and EMPTY talking points? "Obama hates America, Obama hates the flag, Obama hates apple pie, Obama hates pic-nics".
But as I have said many times since your pep rally, I COMPLETELY understand your not wanting to confront the issues; you simply can't because the facts are too painful.
...despite the highest unemployment in 5 years and that gas has more than doubled in less than 8 years.
The facts: on average unemployment rates have been lower than the previous eight years under the much ballyhooed Clinton economic regime.
In the last two years gas prices have doubled. The difference is there is a democrat controlled congress which is largely responsible for driving prices through the ceiling with policies that include no new exploration for oil. Look to see who all the committee chairs are and see what I mean. Charlie Rangel as head of the Ways and Means, that surely helps out quite a bit.
Unemployment rates have risen because fuel prices have risen sharply and businesses have to cut back in order to pay for the rapid increase in fuel prices that have been caused by a new democrat controlled congress. It's a vicious circle eh?
Right now foreclosure rates are about 2 percent and expected to reach between 3-4 percent That means there are 96 percent that are not in foreclosure and therefore there is no real national crisis.
The Fed is the one that sets monetary policy not the Congress and not the White House. Ben Bernake is playing catch up for the grievous errors Alan Greenspan made who knew the mortgage market would suffer some from his free credit to all.com.
All in all the economy is on a firm footing. We are still the largest manufacturer in the world. We still have the largest and most stable economic system in the world and every market follows ours. What's your beef?
Because too much credit was granted to people they knew could not pay back on the loans is now a national crisis? Grow up, you haven't seen anything until you compare this economy to Jimmy Carter economics 101. His economic numbers looked like a depression compared to the relatively good economy we've experienced over the last eight years. Bush inherited a recession from the Clinton admin that had higher unemployment (5.8 percent)rates than we do now. Then we were hit with 9/11 and the economy was taking a nosedive until Bush cut taxes on investment and investors climbed out from under their rocks to make the economy move again.
By the way the American work force is considered to be in full employment when it is 5 percent so what is it now, 5.6 percent? Q:Do you know how many countries would kill to have that kind of unemployment rate A: all of them.
Now go back and read your theory books because that's all you're ever going to be capable of, coming up with useless theories while upchucking leftist talking points read at the daily kook.
Why yes, I've tased a few, they actually asked for it by not displaying proper behavior. What you don't know really will hurt you.
Republicans Break All Time Filibuster Record
December 19, 2007
By Lou Gerber, Legislative Director
Republicans last night broke the all-time Senate record for filibusters in a two-year term when they forced the 62nd cloture vote of this session on the omnibus appropriations bill, H.R. 2764.
The previous record of 61 cloture votes in a two-year term was set in 2001-2002, the last time the GOP comprised the minority in the Senate.
The fact that the new record for legislative obstruction was set in less than one session would be similar to Roger Maris hitting 61 home runs before the mid-season break for the all-star game, instead of during the 162 game baseball season.
From refusing to allow the Senate to vote on the merits of the Employee Free Choice Act, to denying a roll call on the substance of the prescription drug bill, to preventing a vote on legislation implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 commission, GOP Senators impeded solutions to pressing problems.
Under Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Republican Senators have instituted "new math" in which 60 votes have replaced 51 votes as the required majority to pass legislation.
Given their penchant for extended debate, Republican Senators have earned a new name for the venerable acronym GOP - - the Great Obstruction Party!
>>>>>And you wonder why nothing gets done? It's on your party, not on the Democrats.
But if Hannity says it is so, you have no choice but to be your usual lemming self and follow. Once again, these are facts. Indisputable.
Realtor in Arizona:
The new statistics are out and Arizona's foreclosure rate continues to remain high as more homeowners default on loans. According to the latest report by RealtyTrac, Arizona foreclosures have increased 74% from the first six months of 2007. Compare that number to a 58% increase in foreclosures for the rest of the nation and Arizona ranks in the top ten highest foreclosure rates.
By Ben Rooney, CNNMoney.com staff writer
Last Updated: March 14, 2008: 10:48 AM EDT
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Foreclosure filings nationwide jumped 60% in February compared with the same month last year, but they decreased slightly versus January, according to a report released Thursday.
NOT SURE WHERE YOUR 2-4% COMES FROM. POSSIBLY FROM JOHNMCCAIN.COM? THAT WOULD EXPLAIN IT.
And lastly J_G, gosh, I really hate to point out facts to you again...but it's necessary.
When Clinton became president in 1993 he inherited an unemployment rate of roughly 7.2% from George Bush Sr. When Clinton left office in 2001 it was vacillating between 4% and 4.2%.
The current Bush is about to beat his old mark of 6.1%, accomplished in late 2003, early 2004.
Once again, the facts win.
If you have a 2 percent foreclosure rate and it jumps sixty percent what does that give you? 60 percent of 2 is 1.2 so that will give a total of 3.2 percent which is exactly what I said between 3 and 4 percent of the total mortgage market. That means at even the highest point of 4 percent of total mortgages, 96 percent of all mortgages are being repaid.
Bush inherited a recession from Bill Clinton and the top unemployment rate was 5.8 percent before Bush economic policies were even voted upon. Right now the unemployment rate has just been estimated to be 6.1 because of the high fuel prices caused by a unpopular democrat controlled congress.
The day Clinton left office the unemployment rate was 4.8 percent and climbing. It rose to 5.8 percent until the Bush economic policies took effect and reduced unemployment down to 4.4 percent even after we took the hit for 9/11.
The economy isn't changed or controlled in one day by policies that take years to take effect. When Clinton took office in 1993 the unemployment rate was already plunging and he did nothing for the first two years in office that improved an already improving economy. Bush had to stop a recession that was spiraling out of control and then make it go down after the national disaster of 9/11.
No comparison. One admin was handed an improving economy and had to nothing to do with an improving economy and a President that was handed an economic disaster in the making and a terrorist disaster that was totally ignored and denied by a recalcitrant and negligent administration.
Fed,
"Yes, I see where that was passed in the mid 1940's to become law."
I'll take that as an apology.
"So what should we do with Obama and Bush? I say arrest them both."
They are politicians and should have been arrested years ago. However, because the law has never been adjudicated, I'm not sure the punishment would be any more than U.S. Grant received for exceeding the speed limit in Washington, D.C. - a ticket and fine.
"Republicans Break All Time Filibuster Record"
Woo-hoo! Republicans are Number 1!! And Democrats are Number 2!
Thanks for clearing up your citizenship for us. You know, I have had liberal commenters who made out like they were US citizens, and hiding their URL, but with a little work I found they not only were not US citizens, but weren't even in the US. It does lend credibility to your arguements, flakey as they are. ;)
J_G, you are sick and need help. I knew you were partisan but I didn't realize how twisted, evil, resentful and hateful you are.
I pray for you.
These were the things I was taught in Grade school under the title of "Citizenship and Civics". They no longer teach these things as is readily apparent.
j_g,
A friend of mine was appalled when she discovered that her daughter's new school doesn't recite the Pledge of Allegiance. She managed to get the classroom teacher to do it by choice; but the school, as a whole, doesn't demand it.
It makes me curious to know how many schools out there don't recite the Pledge.
