Thank GOD we live in a country where still there are so many willing to sacrifice for our freedom.

As horrible as all wars are, it would be far worse to see U.S. citizens butchered by the millions or living as slaves.

Let's honor the memory of the heroes who died for US!

Mike,

I certainly am.

There is a Veterans Cemetary close to here that I am going to visit tomorrow and lay some flowers at as many as I can.

That's the least I can do for honoring the Freedom they have given me.

We've been a blessed nation, not to have experienced the kind of horrors and instability that other nations go through.

Thank God for our military!

So, what happened to all the liberals, Marie? It's gotten pretty quiet all of a sudden.

A quiet Memorial day for me. I put out my flags and went to the garden to clean up a bit.

Thinking about all those that have served and given of themselves is very awesome. I sat and read from one of my Naval history books about the battle between the USS Constellation and the French Frigate L'Insurgente in 1797 during what was known as the Quasi War with France. The men that manned those ships had only the expectation of a difficult life as men of war. They fought for our fledgling nation to show we would not tolerate being bullied by any other nation including a one time ally, France.

The men served and got little more than a few pieces of silver but they had the promise of Freedom if they survived their service. Many stayed on until they died at sea or in battle. All for America, the greatest nation that world has ever known.

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, Marie! We stayed at home and didn't do anything very special other than a backyard barbecue, but that's what we usually do. It's far safer to stay off the roads, especially around here on Memorial Day. Texans drive like... well... Texans! LOL!

Uncle P,

I dont know, I guess because I cant hang around my blog as much as I'd like to because this is my Dad's computer, I have been cut out of the fight I guess. It is quiet around here isnt it.

Maybe they are not posting because of my Mom post or something.

Jenn,

Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend.

I wanted to go to the Military Cemetary and instead have been bombarded with cousins now and they want to alot of things my Dad and I are just not ready for yet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angel,
I havent been able to visit anyone lately with everything that's been going on. And then my Dad will get on his computer and stay here 23/6.
I'm lucky I can get a post out or reply to anyone, I gotta run here when he hit's the shower lol, I feel like a little kid again!
Gayle,
That sounds nice and quiet.
I forgot how these people drive, but they still drive like Californians! UGH!
I am beginning to remember why I moved to Oklahoma.
Tornado's and all, I'm just a Country Girl now and this pase is just to fast for me out here.
