Bush Wins Another Battle - Troops Will Get Funded
Troops WILL Get Funded FINALLY!!
*snip* The Democratic-controlled House is expected to give President Bush an end-of-session victory in his yearlong battle with anti-war lawmakers over Iraq by approving $70 billion for U.S. military operations there and in Afghanistan.
The vote Wednesday also would represent the final step in sealing a deal between Democrats and Bush over how much money to provide domestic agencies whose budgets are set each year by Congress. The Iraq funds have been bundled with an omnibus appropriations measure to create a massive $555 billion package that Bush has signaled he will sign.
Providing the war funds was a bitter pill for most Democrats, who on Monday sent the Senate a bill limited to $31 billion for U.S. operations in Afghanistan, which have much broader support than the unpopular mission in Iraq.

I LOVE that the Troops got thier funding they needed so badly before they started running out of things, but I have a problem with this funding bill AGAIN!!! Last time the Democrats stuffed I forget how much pork in the bill, remember funding for "Spinach Farmers"? I have nothing against Spinach Farmers mind you, I just think it should have been included in a different spending bill instead of a Troop funding bill.
This time, there are something like 9000 earmarks in this bill which I suppose Bush had to sign in order to get the Troops funded. One sticks out for me, if I knew all the rest I'm sure more would put a hitch in my git along, but why in the HELL are we going to spend 3 million dollars for TREE SNAKE CLEANUP IN GUAM? Guam has NO representation in the House or the Senate, they arent a state, yet they get to vote in our elections. I know it's American territory and we protect them, but since they have no representation in this Country why the hell are we cleaning up thier Tree Snakes? 3 million dollars worth of cleanup? Cant they just pick up the dead snakes and have a big bon fire and be done with it? Just ranting about another earmark that pisses me off!!!

You know what is so aggrivating about this whole budget mess, is that the Dems, even after seeing the success try and pull the same defund, pull out stunts they have been using for four years!
I only wish Bush had been this strong and consistant about less spending when we had a GOP Congress. If he had and that Congress had been reigned in as far as spending is concerned we would still be in the majority!

I know it. I wish Bush would have made Republicans take out some of the damn pork while they were the majority too.

No that would be cruel plus when it comes to snakes, Democrats want to give their own kind a decent burial!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Democrat from Nevada, said Democrats would continue trying to bring an end to the conflict, and he warned that Bush was driving his GOP allies "over the cliff" by continuing the war.
"I hope this last year of his eight-year reign will be one where he will understand -- and more importantly, the Republican senators will understand -- that they've got to break away from this," Reid said.
That man is just so filled with bile I am surprised he doesn't explode!

Harry Reid needs help. He is full of bile alright. I cant stand that crazyass.
I guess he doesnt read or listen to Military reports that we are winning in Iraq and he still thinks there is a civil war going on and Al-Qaeda is running rampant all across Iraq.
He cant take it. I have never seen a party (Democrats) AMERICANS that truly wish ill will on thier own Country and their Own Military.
Reid needs to resign and so does Pelosi.
