Global Warming Vote Comes With 2 Inches Of Snow On The Ground/Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) Is Getting Livid
Global Warming Vote on Snowy Day in Washington
Senate committee debates expensive climate change bill as two inches of snow blanket D.C.
Nothing inspires taking on the “planetary emergency” of global warming like the first snow of the winter in Washington, D.C.
As two inches of snow accumulated outside the U.S. Capitol, the Senate’s Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee debated “historic” global warming legislation sponsored by Sens. John Warner (R.-Va.)(What the hell happened to Warner?) and Joe Lieberman (I.-Conn.).
“We look around right now and see the snow on the trees – standing out here and say ‘Where is global warming when you need it?’” Sen. James Inhofe (R.-Okla.) said to the Business & Media Institute.
The pending vote is seen as historic because “the Senate would impose for the first time a cap on greenhouse gas emissions.”
According to a November 11 Washington Times editorial, the bill would require companies to scale back emissions, costing Americans $4 trillion to $6 trillion over the next 40 years.
That would work out to $494 a year from every man, woman and child – more than 303 million Americans – a significant burden on the U.S. economy.
Inhofe, the ranking Republican on the EPW Committee, said he was optimistic the bill wouldn’t make it into law, despite overwhelming support from committee members.
“We’re in there, it’s going to be marked up and then passed out right on party lines,” Inhofe said. “The thing I think that will kill this will be the same thing that killed the McCain-Lieberman bill two years ago and that is this constitutes – or that bill constituted – a tax increase 10 times greater than the Clinton-Gore tax increase of 1993. Now this is far greater than that, and yet there’s really no guaranteed benefits from it.”

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) has just about had enough of this crap. But he's right. Why should we pay for something that isnt even proven to be true science? As long as there is dissent and differing opinions about all this THEN NONE OF IT IS EVEN GOING ON UNTIL PROVEN SCIENTIFICALY!! This is rediculous and there will be severe job loss in this bill and more government up your butt. We had better do some emails and phone calls again.

Yoo ever notice when a vote on GW takes place or when Al Gore speaks in public on the subject, it is either extremely cold or in Gore's case a record low ?
Think it may be God's way of laughing at the Gorwellion crowd!
You guys are kidding, right? Nobody but ignorant fanatics believes that global warming is anything but the truth. There is irrefutable scientific evidence of Global Warming. But wait, you're probably in the ridiculous crowd that believes that the Earth is only 6000 years old, too. And the earth his flat, and the stars revolve around the earth, and that only witches float . . .
If we start to pass these global warming bills, we will ruin our economy.
Ken,
LOL I have noticed that.
Anon,
While there is genuine dissent from opposing points of view in the scientific community, and not all are of of one concensus, you cant help but perscribe to the notion that some that differ in opinion might also be right.
I mean C'mon, Buying Carbon Credit's? Offsets? You arent falling for this crap are you?
Some scientists, even the creator of the Weather Channel himself (A Scientist) say's Global Warming Is The Biggest Hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.
This whole thing is a sham. It cost's more to go "Green" than to stay the same.
I do my part, I recycle, I try to buy biodigradeable, I turn off light's that arent in use, I keep my thermostat at 72 in the winter (If it were up to me alone it would be lower), I conserve water, I mean I do everything that I should be doing, but I am not going to be able to afford to do a whole lot if gas stations switch over to ethanol fuels that I would have to buy a new car for.
The Prices of everything would go up, food, getting food distributed, cars, I mean everything delivered by truck today would go up.
Not to mention the scientists are all in agreement that the earth cleanses itself.
The same group that is screeching about Global warming were the same group that claimed we would have Global Freezing in the '90's.
I believe in wind and solar, I could live with that if it would lower my bills. But most Enviro groups wont let wind farms be built, or large solar panels interrupt thier view of the skyline.
Like Ted Kennedy for instance, he's all for wind power, but not in his backyard! Why I dont know, half the time he would be to crocked to see them anyway.
But as for getting all hysterical over this, when these people that preach about Global Warming while flying around in thier Private Jets and Limo's, prove themselves to be nothing but hypocrites galls me. It's just some new hysterical religion as far as I am concerned.
Danny,
You are correct, I was going to mention the economy in my rant to anonymous but you did it for me :-)
Don't waste your typing on anyone posting as anonymous, Marie. I despise trolls. No name=no credibility and no intelligence.
Earth's warming and cooling trends are cyclic, but that's a concept too deep for these disciples of Father Algore of the Carbon Credit Church of Moonbats and Sheep.
Why are people so quick to follow someone so obviously unqualified for his self-appointed leadership roll?
There has to be two sides to every issue though. Otherwise it wouldn't be necessary to vote on anything or anyone, now would it?
But, no one in Congress gives a sh!t about how much anything costs the taxpayer. It's all about votes and that Golden Pension they get after they're done screwing us during their career.
Dan,
I know I shouldnt but I'll talk to anybody lol
I just wish these anonymous people would at least try to make a name, even a nickname.
You are right, it's all about votes, not to mention taxing us to death over something that has'nt yet been proven to be scientificaly correct!
Hey, all! In regard to Anonymous' comment, we might want to take a deeper look. After all, there is a significant body of evidence showing exactly how many things have been caused by global warming. Take a look here .
This is a story about an engineer who has gathered links to over 600 different things caused by global warming, and I find it very illuminating. For example, global warming has cause avalanches to be both reduced and increased, the Atlantic Ocean to become both more and less salty, coral reefs both dying and growing, both desert retreat and desert advance, the Earth spinning both faster and slower, trees becoming both more and less colorful, rainfall both increased and decreased, and a host of other all scientifically proven facts.
Let's take a moment to think logically about the science of global warming rather than poking fun at ancient myths like a flat earth.
:)
