Air Force Chief Master Sgt. John Gebhardt, of the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group at Balad, Iraq , cradles a young girl as they both sleep in the hospital. The girl's entire family was executed by insurgents; the killers shot her in the head as well. The girl received treatment at the U.S. military hospital in Balad, but cries and moans often. According to nurses at the facility, Gebhardt is the only one who can calm down the girl, so he has spent the last several nights holding her while they both sleep in a chair.

So many good things are troops are doing for the vast majority of Iraqis. And nearly all of it goes unreported.
But at least the children know who the good guys are.

It's good that our troops are interacting with the Iraqi children. And look at the progress! I dare say most American children that age are incapable of making such neat and well written English signs, and here we have young Iraqi children with excellent penmanship, in English no less! Who says the education system isn't working there? As far as I knew they spoke mostly Iraqi Arabic, Kurdish and Farsi, But then, I'm just an ignorant hick.

Great morning coffee laughs, LOL, being mindful of the keyboard.
This friendly interaction between our troops and Iraqi civilians, especially the children, has been going on from the beginning, but I have yet to see any such pics or articles about it anywhere in the MSM.
BTW, the see-saw torture looked even more insidious than waterboarding. I'll wager they got that kid to talk!
I quess the smell of gingivitas is terrible torture when kissing a baby. Amazing how libs and the MSM have always missed things like this. Thanks Marie great pics and great post. The graphic nature was well within tolerance levels!
Don't let those photos get leaked to 60 Minutes or the NYTimes. God forbid, that they should actually bring them to the attention of the American people and for all the world to witness our evil crimes.

I'm sorry J_G, You must have missed that I think it's great that our soldiers are interacting with the Iraqi children, it may be our only hope for a positive outcome in all of this mess.
I am capable of picking out a planned photo-op though. please notice I didn't criticize any of the other photo's, not even the one of the convicted felon.
Thank you for your service though, I feel certain you served with honor. As do most of our troops. My father and grandfather were soldiers, Dad was in the navy, as were you, he served on the Enterprise, I'm afraid I crapped out of boot due to an uncontrollable seizure disorder aggravated by the lack of sleep. I assume you think me anti-military because I support cleaning the dross out of our military, something that is becoming harder and harder to do with the degradation of acceptable standards in new recruits.

Oh Please!!! C'mon, planned photo opp? Obviously on the picture you are talking about was planned, if you notice you can see the Soldier in the background pointing at us and laughing! Or I should say pointing at people like you lol.
Children and most adult's with the exception of the insurgent's, interact with our Troops on a regular basis like that EVERYDAY! Not Planned!
