9-11 Truthers And The Democrats Shorter Work Week

How on earth can I tie the two together you ask? Well first let's get to the Democrat's shorter work week. Remember when the Democrats won the '06 election? They declared this was going to be the hardest working Congress in American History, and they were going to put an end to the Two-Three day workweek. Haha well? More Broken Promises. And with all going well in Iraq why not take a break? It's not like Congress has done anything anyway unless it's to obstuct everything the Troops need to finish their mission. Here's a *snip* with a link to this story at the end:

Shortly after winning a majority last year, Democrats triumphantly declared that they would put Congress back to work, LOL promising an “end to the two-day workweek.”

But only 10 months into the session, with their legislative agenda often in gridlock with the Bush administration and a big election year looming, the Democrats are now planning a lighter schedule when the 110th Congress begins its second year in mid-January.

The House majority leader, Representative Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland, told fellow Democrats this week that the House would not be in session next year on Fridays, except in June for work on appropriations bills.

Explaining that decision to reporters, Mr. Hoyer said, “I do intend to have more time for members to work in their districts and to be close to their families.”

His comments drew snickers from Republicans, who are quite happy to share their view that the American people did not get much value for all the extra time lawmakers spent in Washington.

“Is this a reward for our accomplishments in 2007?”LOL asked Representative Roy Blunt of Missouri, the Republican whip.

And on Friday, President Bush once again hammered Congressional Democrats, accusing them of failing to meet basic responsibilities like approving annual budget bills and confirming his nominee for attorney general, Michael B. Mukasey.

“This is not what Congressional leaders promised when they took control of Congress earlier this year,” Mr. Bush said. “Congress needs to keep their promise, to stop wasting time, and get essential work done on behalf of the American people.”

The Democrats, by contrast, say that after only 10 months of putting in longer days and weeks, they have made significant gains.Like? LMAO! They cited legislation, including an increase in the minimum wage and new ethics and lobbying rules, as well as in the nitty-gritty work of House committees, which they say has provided much-needed oversight of the Bush administration Ah Huh, right Pfft. and will also set the stage for an ambitious agenda next year.Which really means they havent accomplished ANYTHING, except the minimum wage agenda woopie!

And they blame Mr. Bush and Republicans for Congress’s low approval ratings, which they say will only help the Democrats expand their majority in 2008.( Well of course they do, Uh..What have they been smoking?) Congresses approval ratings werent this low when the Republicans were the majority, are these nutroots blind?

“Certainly, it has been a sprint and a marathon at the same time this year,” Cough, uh Cough said Representative Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “We have accomplished a lot, especially on the domestic front.” Ha! Like what?

Mr. Van Hollen said he was not worried about Congress’s low approval ratings. “Every one of those polls also shows much stronger support for Democratic leadership than Republican leadership,” he said. Uh...WRONG! “The president is lashing out because he recognizes that people see the White House as an obstacle to change.” The President is lashing out because this is the lazyiest Congress in History and they keep playing footsie with bills they KNOW The President isnt going to sign so they are basically wasting taxpayer time and money drawing up bills they know the President will NOT sign KNOWING they will have to go back to square one and get a bill written that the President CAN sign because they KNOW drawing up cockamaymee bills with Billions of dollars of earmarks attached for the Democrat's so-called constituents, and slipping in the "Raising Of Taxes" is something that isnt going to slip past President Bush's eye and the Democrats KNOW full well President Bush isnt going to sign it!

Still, Democrats conceded that the hectic pace had taken a toll, especially on lawmakers who must travel long distances home and who have small children. And members of Congress have not gotten a raise or cost-of-living increase this year. Uh....Gee isnt that what the Republicans told The Democrats when the Democrats wanted to extend the Work Week Congress demanded needed to be longer back when they were elected to be the Majority?

On Wednesday, the House cast its one-thousandth roll-call vote of the year, the first time that it reached that mark since the Constitution was ratified (Yeah, but how many of them went knowingly on purpose nowhere just to try to make like President Bush is holding up progress when all along they know they have to draft a bill the President CAN sign, not some piece of crap legislation that tries to raise our taxes and slide earmarks through without even being noticed.) Democrats hailed the occasion, while Republicans sniped that only 106 of the votes were on bills ultimately signed into law, and that 45 of those bestowed names on post offices or other property. (See?)

“Unlike Congress, the American people do not mistake motion for progress,” said Representative Thaddeus G. McCotter, Republican of Michigan. “They want results. And given the approval ratings, they are certainly convinced they aren’t getting them.”

Mr. McCotter said changing the schedule was an example of Democrats’ breaking promises. “They said ‘five-day weeks,’ ” he said. And he scoffed at the notion that Mr. Hoyer was also responding to Republicans who wanted more time in their home districts.

“I wish he had that much concern and was as responsive to Republicans’ calls for input on major legislation,” Mr. McCotter said.

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Democrat of Florida, said the Democrats had to put in the hours to make up for Republican failings last year. “There was so much left undone by the 12 years of Republican control of the Congress, Yeah! Right! LOL Blame your Democratic shortcommings on the Republicans, sorry but we all know the truth. it was absolutely essential that we put our nose to the grindstone,” she said.

Ms. Wasserman Schultz has three children, 8-year-old twins and a 4-year-old. “It’s tough,” she said in a telephone interview from Orlando, where she had taken the children while she attended the Florida Democratic Convention there this weekend.

Mr. Blunt said he thought Democrats would regret this year’s schedule, which he said had distanced lawmakers from constituents.

Still, he said he and his colleagues would appreciate the Fridays out of session next year. “I would welcome, as I am sure all of our members would, a schedule that is more reflective of how the Congress should work,” Mr. Blunt said. “Rather than how it has worked in the last year.”

Story Here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let's see, the Democrats ran on "We are going to end the War in Iraq" (Didnt Happen), "We are going to Impeach The President" (Didnt happen and isnt going to), "We are NOT going to raise your taxes" (We all knew that wasnt true because the Democrats have NEVER met a tax they didnt like, not to mention Charlie Rangel is on the verge of drawing up the biggest tax hike in American History a/k/a "The Mother Of All Tax Hikes"), but we will save that for another story.
Now For The So Called "9-11 Truthers."
First let me start by saying YOU DEMOCRATS CREATED THESE MORONS BACK WHEN KERRY WAS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT AND NOW...YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH THEM! But by letting them flourish and nourture and get carried away with their imaginations WE ALL HAVE TO LIVE WITH THESE FRIGGEN MORONS NOW YOU DUMBASSES!
They are EVERYWHERE! First It Was Danny Bonaduce
Bill Maher (Friday 10-19-07)
Michael Savage Deluged By "Truther" Calls
I Gotta Give Kudos Where Kudos Are Due, Thank You President Clinton
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now these people are starting to show up EVERYWHERE! Mainly at Ron Paul event's, but basically everywhere. Which brings us to another question: Is Ron Paul a Democrat Plant? Since the Democrats let all the conspiracy theory Loons run Amok during the Kerry Campaign, they have now taken up root on thier own and seem to have somewhat clung to Ron Paul. Now why would an out of control left wing lunatic fringe of the Democrat party be clinging to a "Supposed Republican Candidate".? Hmmmmmm

You really have quite a way of expressing yourself Marie.

Ron Paul is responsible for indulging those truthers who support him....along with other related loons.

I always love the way you restrain yourself from saying exactly what you think! LOL

You know in actuality the four day work week next year is fulfilling teir promise of being more effective. Democrats NOT being in session is much more effective than when they ARE in session.

BTW does it pain you to place the title President next to the name Clinton as it does me? I'll bet you relly had to suck it up for the kudos on that one!

Electing/reelecting today's Democrats is akin to bestowing important, responsible positions upon reckless, irresponsible children.

Having said that, you're 100% right (no pun intended), Marie, about the Democrats being responsible for bringing all the super-wingnuts out of the woodwork.

They allow these people to rally 'round their party like pilot fish to a shark's teeth, indulge rather than refute their insane rhetoric purely to garner the maniac vote and next thing you know they are part and parcel of our political system.

I have a really tough time trying to grasp the concept of any Republican seeing any reason to vote for the likes of Ron Paul, which in turn leads me to wonder how he could ever have gotten elected on any Republican ticket to begin with. If he's attracting the calibre of loons he appears to be attracting and, as Wordsmith says indulging, perhaps an Indy run on his part might Naderize the Democratic nominee as much as or more than it would his/her Republican opponent.

You know in actuality the four day work week next year is fulfilling teir promise of being more effective. Democrats NOT being in session is much more effective than when they ARE in session.

LOL!

The democracks are so busy trying to undo all the things done by Prez Bush with their incessant and useless hearings they have no time for anything else. They are looking for ways to retreat, raise taxes destroy a booming economy and reduce the number of people working which is at an all time high.

ronulans are their own fruitcakes Marie. They invented themselves. Libertarian nutbags make leftwing lunatics look tame by comparison. Well, that's an exaggeration but they are both complete drug induced morons. The conspiracy nutbags are nothing new, the Romans,Greeks and Babylonians had to deal with them too. (although they were allowed to chop off their heads back then)

Marie, am I the only one who sees irony in Clinton telling someone else they lack self control? This guy couldn't control his own prurient sexual desires, let alone himself. And this was the man our nation entrusted with the power to push the nuclear button! How did we ever survive his presidency?

Word,

Dont you remember when Kerry was running for President and these fruitloops started with "This was a Neo-Con Plan" and "We attacked ourselves on 9-11"?

And John Kerry never said a damn thing about any of this nonsense?

By him not distancing himself from these loones and just allowing this crap to continue, and we tried to warn them what would happen they just let them go on full steam ahead anyway.

I will get to the Medved letter in a few.

Ken,

Well someones gotta say it :-)

Yes I had to suck it up to give Clinton Kudo's but he deserved them for saying what he said. In a respectful way he was defending President Bush and probably himself also.

You remember dont you? And we tried to warn them what they would have to deal with come 2006 should they win, they would be all over the left too.

You reap what you sew, but now we all have to put up with this crap because they have been allowed to spread EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Jenn,

We have to urge EVERYONE to stop this madness before we lose our own minds!!
