Viva La France!!!!!

PARIS, France -- Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy greeted news of his election Sunday to a five-year term as France's president with a vow to serve as a leader for all people of France.

"The president of the republic must love and respect all the French," he told cheering supporters at his campaign headquarters. "I will be the president of all the French people."

Sarkozy won with 53 percent of the vote in Sunday's presidential runoff, according to preliminary results issued by the French Interior Ministry. Socialist Segolene Royal took 47 percent of the vote.

"The French people have called for change. I will carry out that change, because that's the mandate I have received from the French people."

Sarkozy added that he wanted to tell his "American friends that they can rely on our friendship ... France will always be next to them when they need us."

This is a positive change for France. expect the French to be well, French but I think we will have a much better realtionship and cooperation than with the socialist Chirac. Chirac enriched himself on oil for food and thumbed his nose at the US when we cut off his gravy train by invading Iraq.

One of the things that confuse most Americans about France is the seemingly wishy washy stances they take in world affairs. That started back in the after the Renaissance when France considered herself a diplomatic arbitor for conflicts and French for many centuries was language of diplomacy.

I love French perfume, it is without a doubt the very finest in all the world. There are so many things and when I was in France I was treated so well by the people there in Marseilles, Toulon and Lyon.

Mark,

I dont know, that's why I am holding my breath on this.

But you know this guy has to be better than Chirac.

I do feel the need to remove my Boycott France Bumper Sticker.

I mean if Sarkozy in his first speach as President reached out to the American people OF ALL PEOPLE first? He just told the Chirac tards bite me.

So he is alright with me.
