Media Covering Up WMD Found Story

MRCAction ALERT
Breaking News from the Media Research Center

Since the onset of the war, the media has staked its case
against George Bush and the war in Iraq saying there were
no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Now we know the truth with the June 21 release of a partially
declassified Army National Guard Intelligence Center report
confirming that since 2003, U.S. forces have discovered more
than 500 shells of ordinance containing sarin or mustard gas!

Not surprisingly, even with definitive facts that WMDs were
in Iraq, many of the top media outlets flatly refuse to
report this story. Others, like MSNBC, minimized and
downplayed the findings, suggesting, "They are WMD:
weapons of minor discomfort."

This is simply outrageous!

Once again the media is picking and choosing what to report
as they see fit. This important story doesn’t fit into their
liberal agenda, and as such it gets cast aside, or at the
very least minimized and mocked.

You deserve better. We all deserve better...

But unless grassroots Americans demand accountability,
this story, like so many others will be forgotten. We
won't let that happen this time!

++50,000 emails demanding the truth about WMDs in Iraq

The MRC has launched a major grassroots email campaign to
flood the major news programs and outlets with 50,000 emails
demanding they push their political agenda aside and report
the truth about WMDs in Iraq!

This is a media cover-up!

The liberal media has spent countless hours badgering Americans
with their "No WMD" claims, and now it's time for us to
personally hold them accountable.

By clicking on the link below, our system will deliver your
personal emails demanding an end to this cover-up directly
to the key media organizations including ABC World News Tonight,
CBS Evening News, NBC Today, the LA Times, USA Today, and more!

Americans are being deceived. That is why after sending your
emails, I am urging you to take a few moments to alert your
family and friends--giving them the opportunity to take
action with you!

The liberal media needs to be reminded that the grassroots
voice of America is holding them accountable to report the
truth at every turn in the war. Anything less than the
truth is a grave disservice to the American public and
our troops. That’s why we need you to take immediate action.

they are trying to hush this up because they would have to admit the President of the United States was right.

Dear goopers,

The media are not reporting the story because THERE IS NO STORY!

The "WMDs" that Santorum talked about were left over from the 1991 Iraq war and couldn't wipe out a colony of ants.

You guys are trying really, really hard to prop up your deeply and widely unpopular president.

It ain't working.

A majority of the American people DO NOT APPROVE OF BUSH OR HIS POLICIES.

Deal with it.

Should we invade every country that has Sarin and Mustard gas?

Sick,
But the Pentagon should release the entire de-classified part of it.
You will never hear anyone from the Lunatic Left admit Bush was right about anything.
Dont hold your breath!

America,
Take a breath! If it wasnt a story then why are you here bitching about a non-story?

You are to obsessed with poll numbers, if polls were correct your guy would be President.

Kerry LOST!
Get over it.

Penn,
Sure we should if they are waving them around swearing "I'm gonna use these on you America!!"
Like Saddam did.

He wasn't capable of doing so. Saddam didn't have the technological ability to attack America. Besides, he knew if he used them against America he would have been wiped out by an American nuke

Penn,
Saddam may not have had the capability we know that now!
But after violating 17 resolutions, invading his neighbors, (Kuwait) using WMD on his own people and the Iranians, shooting at our airplanes in the "No-Fly-Zones", lighting up the Kuwaiti Oil Fields and Scorching The Earth, Trying to assasinate OUR President, (I'm sure I forgot a few resolutions there) Insisting he would make the US Pay with WMD constantly, not to mention the Billions he milked off the "Oil For Food Program" (Our Tax Dollars) Do you honestly think President Bush was going to take his word that he destroyed all his WMD'S? The word of a MadMan?
I dont think so.
And the fact that WMD has been found proves that point!

And we cant just go around nuking everyone who threatens us.

Saddam just counted on Air Strikes again. He never imagined we would actually come in there and Take his Lunatic ass out of power. And haul ass over to protect the Iraqi peoples Oil Fields so he couldnt light them on fire and Scortch the Earth Again. Which when you think about it, Saddam lighting the Kuwaiti's oil fields on fire, and it taking damn near a year to put those puppies out I'm sure contributed heavily to Global Warming!

Saddam was the pain in the ass of the Middle East and everyone including 33 countries right along side us in Iraq Except you Defeatest Cut and Runners are glad he's gone!

Especially the Iraqi's, proven by the fact that when our Army went into Baghdad the Iraqi's had us help tear down Saddam's statue!!
Remember those pictures?

We took Saddam out of power, now the Iraqi people need to establish their own government. It is time that people actually do things themselves, instead of playing the world's babysitter. We have an ever failing education system that need greatly improved.

A bit of information I found out from a very reliable and neutral source at wikipedia.org. The weapons found in Iraq were underground and very deteriorated. They were of little use. Look for yourself at wikipedia.org and under search type Rick Santorum. Click on my name

I am so glad you werent around during WW2!

Have you ever heard the expression "You brake it, you own it"?

Name one Country we have Liberated (Veit Nam not included) Where we havent stayed for re-construction, and left a base and or bases?

We are still in Germany and its been 60+ years!
We are also still in Kosovo where Clinton sent the troops, its been 10 years there!

You stay until the mission is TOTALLY complete!

That includes re-construction and standing up thier Military so that when our Troops DO leave, the Iraqi people can defend themselves.

They are comming along faster than any Army we have trained, however we are recieving help in training them by other countries, Jordan for instance, Italy.

You cant just constantly screech "Bring the Troops Home" when our allies are all out thier working thier butts off fixing things and training troops.

I wish you would understand or get a grip on this situation and start thinking outside the Liberal box.

You seem plenty capable of it.

As for schools, I dont know about where you live but in Oklahoma the school system is very good.

They dont have issues with segregation, or worrying if they can say "Under God" during the Pledge of Alligiance. They just continue building better schools here, hiring teachers that dont preach one party or the other in the calssroom, they just go on with the business of teaching. The school quality in Oklahoma is excellant.
Besides, we can do 2 things at once in this Country!

I'll Go Ya One Better, This Came Straight From The Department Of Defense...

By Samantha L. Quigley
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, June 29, 2006 - The 500 munitions discovered
throughout Iraq since 2003 and discussed in a National Ground
Intelligence Center report meet the criteria of weapons of
mass destruction, the center's commander said here today.

"These are chemical weapons as defined under the Chemical
Weapons Convention, and yes ... they do constitute weapons
of mass destruction," Army Col. John Chu told the House
Armed Services Committee.

The Chemical Weapons Convention is an arms control
agreement which outlaws the production, stockpiling and use of
chemical weapons. It was signed in 1993 and entered into force
in 1997.

The munitions found contain sarin and mustard gases, Army
Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples, director of the Defense
Intelligence Agency, said. Sarin attacks the neurological system
and is potentially lethal.

"Mustard is a blister agent (that) actually produces
burning of any area (where) an individual may come in contact
with the agent," he said. It also is potentially fatal if it
gets into a person's lungs.

The munitions addressed in the report were produced in the
1980s, Maples said. Badly corroded, they could not
currently be used as originally intended, Chu added.

While that's reassuring, the agent remaining in the weapons
would be very valuable to terrorists and insurgents, Maples
said. "We're talking chemical agents here that could be
packaged in a different format and have a great effect," he
said, referencing the sarin-gas attack on a Japanese subway
in the mid-1990s.

This is true even considering any degradation of the
chemical agents that may have occurred, Chu said. It's not known
exactly how sarin breaks down, but no matter how degraded
the agent is, it's still toxic.

"Regardless of (how much material in the weapon is actually
chemical agent), any remaining agent is toxic," he said.
"Anything above zero (percent agent) would prove to be toxic,
and if you were exposed to it long enough, lethal."

Though about 500 chemical weapons - the exact number has
not been released publicly - have been found, Maples said he
doesn't believe Iraq is a "WMD-free zone."

"I do believe the former regime did a very poor job of
accountability of munitions, and certainly did not document the
destruction of munitions," he said. "The recovery program
goes on, and I do not believe we have found all the
weapons."

The Defense Intelligence Agency director said locating and
disposing of chemical weapons in Iraq is one of the most
important tasks servicemembers in the country perform.

Maples added searches are ongoing for chemical weapons
beyond those being conducted solely for force protection.

There has been a call for a complete declassification of
the National Ground Intelligence Center's report on WMD in
Iraq. Maples said he believes the director of national
intelligence is still considering this option, and has asked
Maples to look into producing an unclassified paper addressing
the subject matter in the center's report.

Much of the classified matter was slated for discussion in
a closed forum after the open hearings this morning.

Fox News’ Jim Angle contacted the Defense Department who quickly disavowed Santorum and Hoekstra’s claims. A Defense Department official told Angle flatly that the munitions hyped by Santorum and Hoekstra are “not the WMD’s for which this country went to war.”
