Before You Liberals Go Overboard
The Soldier Ouestioning Donald Rumsfeld
That is the way things are done in the Military especialy if you dont believe your chain of comand has passed your concerns up the chain. So when you have "The Secretary Of Defense" there in your face, and a few cameras too I might add knowing he was going to be on them, you tell the Secretary, but that's a good thing. You pass on your concern to the Secretary. There is nothing wrong with that.
So naturally Rumsfeld had to take the blame again. I honestly do not know why he wanted this job again, all he does is get called "Incompetant" by people like Nancy Pelosi. She and other Liberals seem to forget Rumsfeld was pulling injured people out of the Pentagon on 9-11. What were they doing? He waged an outstanding victory in Afghanistan, he is a hero.
And compared to WW2, Korea, and Viet Nam, Iraq is NOT EVEN doing bad. A few pockets left of resistance is all the news will tell you about and make it appear Iraq is going to hell in a henbaket. All we hear is bad crap from Iraq that's why I started that other page "Why I Serve", that's all about the good things coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Rummy takes the blame when a few soldiers had to play naughty with some Iraqi prisoners, EVERY single time he has to go to the Congress and Senate and asks for more money he catches hell, and even if this Armor issue isnt Rummy's fault he will take the blame anyway.
No this isnt the first time nor the last time the Secretary needs to know about the Soldiers concerns, but it is the first time it has been on camera and broadcast across Nation wide News.
I do recall a certain Senator from MA that voted against the 87 million dollar bill to fund the troops and give them what they needed then I think his name was John F. Kennedy oops I mean Kerry.
President Bush has asked Rummy to stay out of the Political side of things, that's why Rummy wont give anyone a political answer.
Maybe if these lawmakers will quit holding these bills up in congress our Soldiers will have what they need when they need it.
I cant wait till the 109th Congress and Senate are sworn in!!!!!
I bet you my bottom dollar that the Liberals are going to blow this whole thing out of proportion and try and run our Secretary of Defense out on a rail.
When they do start we need to start e-mailing our Congress, Senate, and Representatives. Because the Liberals are going to go on a rampage!!
Even if its congresses fault the Soldiers dont have what they need, they are going to blame Bush and Rummy, and just watch this. They think they have grabbed them a bone and are going to be chewing on it like a rawhide!!!!!

Well ya see hun, he IS imcompetant...a man whose never had anything to do, REALLY, with the army is running its base of operations...oh and did you hear how those soldiers got those questions? Some nutty journalist told them they could, then made sure the head press guy picked the right soldiers
Oh How I love it, I can throw you Liberals a bone, and you bite every time. No he doesnt have any REAL contact with the Army he's just thier boss. He has more contact with the Navy, since he was a Naval Aviator IN the Navy and became a flight instructor while he was IN the Navy. He was a Congressman from Illinois reelected 3 times, He was White House Cheif of staff, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom (Only the highest civilian award you can get in the US), He was appointed the youngest Secretary of Defense ever, and this is his second stint as Secretary of Defense, only an Incompetant man could accomplish all that. Not to mention his victory in Afghanistan where there is a new allie and a new President :-) And yes I know all about the set up by the Liberal media, as a matter of fact here is part of a Yahoo News story:

The GI was reportedly irate over a lack of adequate armor for military Humvees. His question played well to the media's basic bias, showing a clueless Rumsfeld left stammering for an answer and finally deferring to a three-star general to respond.
The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, among others, gave it front-page play. TV networks and National Public Radio gave it prominent airtime. Quite a coup for a lone questioning GI.
Except, as it turns out, the question wasn't authentic. It was planted by Chattanooga Times Free Press reporter Edward Lee Pitts, who is embedded with the 278th Regimental Combat Team. In a memo to his paper -- and posted by the Drudge Report -- he admits to working "on questions to ask Rumsfeld" with the GIs.
What was portrayed as soldiers' genuine anger was, in fact, a staged media event.

Maybe if Kerry and Edwards would have done thier jobs by voting for the money to support our troops in harms way, they would have all the things they need to protect themselves, instead of just voting to send our troops to the war zone. The Liberal media has neglected to say that 6000 of our Humvees are already equipped with armor, and that's what they are driving in now. And the others are being armored as we type. I hope there arent any slivers in that bone your chewing on :-)
all i can say is you should review what the sec of defense is responsible for before you say he shouldn't take the blame.

The story I posted to begin with explains why he will take the blame no matter if it was his fault or not!
I never said it wasnt a good question to ask, and I'm glad the Soldier did ask the question, it gets the ball moving faster.

The Liberal Media would have you believe that he has lost credability, what they didnt show you was the standing ovation he got from the Soldiers the moment he walked in the room. He takes responsibility for things under his command, and he will get the ball moving faster, that's what I meant by addressing the issue face to face with him was the best thing the Soldier could have done. I just have a problem with a reporter who slips a couple Soldiers a question and makes sure they got picked to ask them. If the Reporter wanted a question asked he should have done like all other reporters do and show up for a Pentagon Press conference. Instead of planting the questions the reporter wanted asked on a few Soldiers! I feel the reporter used the Soldiers.
