Fred Thompson Drops Out Of GOP Race For President

Well we gave it our best shot! I hope Fred's mother is ok.

On we go I suppose!

FredHead Forever :-)

Fred Thompson Issues Statement:

McLean, VA - Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:
“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”

Ok so we hurry up and get over this and pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get on with it :-)

Anon,

We don't need that kind of divisive crap.

These people cared about Thompson, it didn't work out. Just leave it at that.

I can't stand anymore of this nyah, nyah, nyah kind of behavior.

Really.

I'm tired of it.

This country will NEVER go frward so long as we're against each other.

Divided we fall.

Sheesh.

They are insane!

Damn!

This political system was neither designed nor intended to finf the best candidate, rather the candidate that is most acceptable to most of the people. Mediocrity is the intent and that is what we get.

I too am disappointed Fred wasn't able to get his message across and play a more forceful role in this election process.

In late spring, early summer last year it seemed he might be "the one" who could capture the hearts and minds, and VOTES of GOP primary voters looking for a solid conservative to get behind.

But for whatever reason, it didn't happen and now we have to move ahead.

We still have plenty of good candidates left to choose from and I hope that as more conservatives get the chance to have their votes counted we will emerge with the strongest candidate for the fall election.

I don't expect the eventual nominee to be perfect, but I do hope he is the best.

So who do conservatives support now? Mitt Romney? It's pretty depressing. There isn't much out there.

Well Marie, I'm sorry to hear Fred dropped out. I know you worked hard trying to get people on board with Fred. You did your best but that's how it happens. I too agreed with many of the things he said during the campaign. Sometimes candidates that don't win can be a positive influence anyway. Fred was always dignified and to the point, I appreciate that kind of thing more than anyone will ever know.

Now it's on to Florida, the campaign to put someone we agree with into the Oval office is on. I find I agree with the positions of Mitt the most. I don't agree with everything but that's the way it is this time and I'm sticking with him. If Rudy happens to win I'll feel comfortable voting for him too. The other two that are left I don't have the time of day for.

Just keep in mind that whoever we choose for the nominee they will have to be fully prepared for the Clinton crime syndicate and their lie machine. Look at what Obama is going through right now. They are smearing the man like they always do. Does this country want or need another four or eight years of personal attacks and character assassinations by two power mad low lives.

Marie, I can only say, "Bummer!"

...and that I linked to this post in my own post on the subject.

Next time I hear anyone who didn't support Fred Thompson say they want a Reagan conservative in the White House, I'll simply ignore them.

Anon,

You are an intellectual giant. All you do is feed into the already existing stereotypes.

If you're a Ron Paul supporter I suggest you get busy. He needs a lot of help and it's not posting on this blog.

The author of this blog supports Fred Thompson passionately. There's no fault in that. A "loser" doesn't support anyone.

Thanks and have a nice week.

Now the evaluation starts. I will vote GOP and hope that the party and the candidate understand that conservatism is what will win the day.

Thank's Guy's,

I know alot of you are in the same boat I am.

But we will snap out of it soon.

I guess some of us should have prepared ourselves for this (Which I didnt, my mistake) So this wouldnt have been such a let down.

But what's done is done.

We will have to just look at the frontrunner, examine all the candidates, and whatever we do,whoop the pants off the Democrats!!

He could never get off defense (lazy, uninterested, etc). He needed to go on the offense.

What now.. probably McCain and a younger strong conservative guy. Like Mitt.

BTW, like the pic at the top, Marie.

Tapline,

Thank's for stopping by my blog :-)

I know, I am just as lost as you are.

All we can do I guess is watch and see and vote for the frontrunner whomever it turns out to be.

AC,

He was just starting to go on the offense, and just starting to gain some momentum and then this?

I am getting really mad.

We should have a Nationwide outcry "Fred Thompson Get your Ass Back In This Race".
