I remember the bombings and all the conjecture about a government conspiracy. The black helicopters and the Turner diaries. Those people are no better than the loons that protest the war now.

I heard on Glenn Beck today on the way home from the dentist that people come from all over the world to see this memorial not only to remember what happened there but to get ideas for there own memorials because it considered to be extremely well done. I'll have to come out to see it.

Ken,

It sure has by the MSM, but here in Oklahoma we never forget :-)

There will be a service every single year here because we all committed to a Promise that we would NEVER forget.

Jenn,

I am sick to death of all the conspiracy theories. And yet I still have loones that come on here and argue with me about something I lived through. May black helicopters follow all the Conspiracy loones around forever.

Yes people do come here from all over the World, every time I pass the Memorial there are alway's people there. When I went on the "Walk For Freedom" this last September 11, there were even people there from New York, and my daughter-in-law ran into people from Germany!! Of course I didnt understand one word of what they were saying (My middle daughter-in-law is German) but everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves.

It it gorgeous Jenn, truly a work of art. Alot of pictures are on the OKC Memorial website, but there is nothing like the feeling you get when you do see it for yourself. You WILL Have to come see it and me again too :-)

However it is sad at the same time because I remember going to the Murrah building itself for various things I had to do when we first moved here. And to have that taken away in an instant and all those babies as well as all 168 people was devistating for quite a while.

But we all made a promise to never forget and I sure as heck never will.

Oh by the way Purple is the color for all the babies that were lost so that's why I did this post in purple.

And geuss what? Rudy Guliani was there and gave a wondersful speech!

And guess what else? I didnt bring my camera because I had no idea he would be there !!

I could slap myself silly for that.

On a more sinister note, let us all remember Waco, Texas (Yeah Right) (The Branch Dividian Freaks) on this date, Bill Clintons crowning achievement, and let us all remember it took our Troops less time to take Baghdad than it did for Janet Reno to take Waco Texas!!

Haven't seen much in the news on this, but guess that's asking too much.

BTW, I know you're sick of the conspiracy theories, but whatever happened to that Jayna Davis woman?

Check this out....April seems to be a rather lunar-kind of month (although, I'm sure you can pull all sorts of past conflicts and tragedies for every month):

Wars that started/ended in April include:

The American Revolution (Started with Paul Revere's Ride: April 18-19 April 1775)

The American Civil War (Started April, 1861, ended April, 1865, thus "Across Five Aprils")

The Bosnian War began in the first days of April, 1992

The Rwandan Genocide began in April, 1994

The Armenian Genocide began in April 24, 1914

Other events that have occurred in the month of April include:

President Abraham Lincoln's assassination (April 14, 1865)

The Frank Slide (April 29, 1903)

The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake (April 18, 1906)

The sinking of the RMS Titanic (April 14-15 April 1912)

The Armenian Genocide (April 24, 1915)

Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination (April 4, 1968)

Super Tornado Outbreak (April 3-4, 1974)

Chernobyl nuclear accident (April 26, 1986)

The 1992 Los Angeles Riots after the Rodney King verdict (April 29, 1992)

The bloody end to the Branch Davidian siege in Waco, Texas (April 19, 1993)

The Oklahoma City Bombing (April 19, 1995)

In Lebanon, at least 106 Lebanese civilians are killed when the Israel Defense Forces shell the UN compound at Qana (see Qana Massacre). (April 18, 1996) The Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania, Australia (April 28, 1996)

The Columbine High School massacre in Littleton, Colorado (April 20, 1999)

The 2007 Virginia Tech shooting in Blacksburg, Virginia (April 16, 2007).

AC,

I honestly dont have a clue what happened to Jayna.

She used to work for a news station here then she quit, went on a rampage about conspiracy theories, and no-one ever hears from her anymore.

I guess she never got what she was looking for in the way of conspiracy theories.

Word,

I know April seems to be one hell of a lunar month in history.

You forgot Ruby Ridge in all that lol

It is odd isnt it all these events have happened in April.

I guess April and September are months to look out for disasters.

Gee I cant wait till tomorrow to see how many schools get evacuated thank's to this recent mess and Columbine, they have been going nuts in Oklahoma with a bomb threat every day since Monday.

I truly think they shouldnt have aired that tape of the Maniac who shot up the school. That just encited more violence and copycats as far as I am concerned.

The saddest thing I ever heard was a little boy who just moved up from Oklahoma told my mom (a teacher) his grandma died in the OKC bomb.

Jayna Davis made her rounds up here in Philly for a while last year on a local radio morning talk show. The host Michael Smerconish is one of those wishy washy squishy middle guys and believes just about anything that comes along and has thse kind of people on his program. He fawns all over her and another guy that wrote some book about being in chrage of the CIA desk for Osama bin Laden, Schuyer I think is name and he is just another phony balony trying to capitalize on a horrendous event like Jayna Davis. If any of the stuff they say were true there would be no way they would be alive to tell about it. Especially Jayna Davis who blames the Clinton gang, for Oklahoma City. Jayna would have died from Arkancide long ago if her stories were true.

I'll have to see what I can do for a trip out there Marie. I'd like very much to see you again. For everyone else here, let me tell you Marie is one extrodinary lady and a heck of a lot of fun too! As cold as it was at the Gathering of Eagles, Marie and I managed to have some laughs and be serious when it was time to be serious. I'd like to see my friend in New Mexico too so maybe I can swing a grand tour of the southwest later in the year.

Kris,

It is truly sad.

I dont think there is any way in this Country we are going to be able to catch every nut out there with a mission.

Jenn,

Jayna is a loonbat.

We dont much discuss her anymore out here.

As much as I would LOVE to blame Clinton for this mess, I cant.

McCviegh was just another Maniac with a cause. We will never be able to catch all the Maniac's out there.

Jenn if you are going to come out, best to do it after Tornado season, and after the Hell we call summer here. Fall is quite nice here, and alot cooler.

I would love to see you again :-)

I wonder what it is about April and these disasters.

May God bless the victims' families as they are still coping with their loss from this horrible tragedy.

This is one of those events where I remember exactly where I was when I found out.

Chatterbox,

I dont know what it is about April.

Maybe it's a month we need to maybe keep our kids home from school on certain dates like April 16th and 20th now, and we need to stay the heck away from Federal Buildings on the 19th!

However we need to be mindful in September also.

It's getting to the point we just dont know what nutroot is out there and what they will do next, and we will NEVER catch them all.

You know I remember exactly what I was doing on this date when this happened because I was at work just a few blocks from the Murrah Building, and got knocked on my butt at the time, and had to endure all this mess.

But what's strange is on 9-11, I was in such shock I still cant remember if I even went to work that day. Part of my memory from that day is gone forever.
