He's a libertarian. The smartest move he made, actually, is realizing that he could never put change into effect by campaigning as a losertarian. Serious people will work within one of the two major Parties. Those who want to throw their political influence down the toilet will vote and campaign in third parties.

I get tired talking about this loser. I'll tell you a few things though that might shed some light on what's going on with these people because I used to be a part of that lunatic fringe.
Back during the eighties the libertarian movement got a big boost when Reagan got elected. A bunch of ultra-right wing zealots thought that Reagan was going to put the hammer down and turn America into a right wing playground including shutting off the borders bringing the troops home from overseas and create "Island America". The idea was; we can be totally self sufficient and we don't need any other country. Well, Reagan would have no part in that type of thinking and he knew history and that Thomas Jefferson tried that very thing for almost two disastrous years of his admin in with the Trade Embargo act of 1807.
The right wing extremists were not at all pleased with the way things went during the Reagan admin and began to call him a sell out to the conservative cause and further alienated themselves calling themselves Libertarians, Militias, Freemen etc… backed by groups like the John Birch Society and such. Things went along and George Bush I got elected and these groups went nuts calling his admin “the new World Order” and then things like “Ruby Ridge” happened. Then Clinton got elected and all out war was declared by the ultra right wing.
The culmination of these outgrowths happened in your very city Marie with Timothy McVeigh. After that happened they appeared to have become more unorganized and many people like myself saw the error in the movement and how extreme it had become. I was right in the middle of all that although I never met anyone in the groups like the Michigan militia and some of the groups McVeigh and Nichols moved through. I dropped all of that and left politics soon after that because I was disillusioned and that's not what I wanted to be a part of anymore.
I didn't become active in politics again until about three years ago because I considered it essential that president Bush stay president. I have many stories of twenty years of ultra right wing politics that I am not always proud of but I sat down and read all the things that was wrong with the theories that fuel the ultra right wing and this guy Ron Paul buys into every one of them believe I know, there just isn't enough room or time tell you how I know and what I know about it. I've probably already put most people to sleep. Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I’m a true American conservative now and I believe that we must be able to stick to rich traditions but at some point some ideas have to modified and adjusted along the way without violating the concept and original intent of the Constitution. I have learned that an unbending and unyielding position when dealing with our own political system and values eventually leads to the acts of tyranny and anarchy as has proven time and time again over the last 200 plus years of our country. We do need to cut spending and we do need to be demanding in protecting our interests both at home and overseas. Libertarians, anarchists, left wing socialists and communists have to minimized and resisted because they are the extremes and there is no room for that type of extremism in my book. I really have been there and done that.
Marie, consider that last comment of mine not only a piece of history but also a confession to being a part of something that went way too far and hope that you would accept my apology for being a part of that movement that got so out of hand and hurt so many people in your city of Oklahoma City.
The only way to get rid of these people that are so delusional marie is to not give them a forum.
That real conservative guy is not and he is only deluding himself if he or anyone else believes the things he espouses. He goes by KKK Ken over at Mike's America and I know al of his lines all too well.
